St Brendan Catholic Church

My husband and I just noted the June 14 th review and totally disagree with it. We’ve been St. Brendan Parishoners for over 50 years and have volunteered in a number of capacities. We love our parish and staff. We’re so blessed to have Father Jim. If anything, he’s overworked. He’s filled with the Holy Spirit and inspires our spirituality. We see Satan’s hand in the review of Annie R. It makes us sad to see this spewing of bile and hate toward fellow Christians. God have mercy on her soul.

If you are in desperate need of receiving the Eucharist, feel free to attend mass here. But do not make it a habit. Do not join this parish. Do not tithe here. Do not trust them for any sacrament, except Sunday Eucharist. And even then, only go if you have no other option.
This parish is one of the worst in the Archdiocese of Seattle. The priest is spineless and lazy; he has no control over his parishioners and staff. And his staff, especially his piece-​of-​work pastoral associate, run roughshod over him. (Why they pay for a pastoral associate is beyond me; they have a pastor, a parochial vicar, and two deacons. They don’t need to shill over $ 60K per year for this person. Then again, this place is terrible at managing money, too.)
Whether or not he is a solid pastor, one cannot tell, nor does it really matter. The crazy woman who works as «pastoral associate» really runs the place. She goes out of her way to teach against the Catholic Church. (There is nothing wrong with disagreeing with Church teaching. But when you purport to work for the Church? When that work pays your bills? When you claim to represent the Gospel of Christ? Keep your opinion to yourself. Or quit your job and preach whatever you want).
She is cruel, self-​centered, vengeful, and practically unhinged. I’ve seen her go far beyond the realm of practicality and/​or reality to destroy another person, and their reputation, and their career. Meanwhile, her own behavior is so inappropriate for a parish environment/​her own workplace (not to mention unchristian), that any employer in their right mind would have fired her years ago.
However, this priest is so weak and lazy that letting her go would be tantamount to admitting how little control he has over his parish, and how much he relies on her doing his own work for him. Therefore, the parish leadership is an total mess. That parish has been sinking like the Titanic for years, all because of these two.

Wonderful staff and peaceful location. Had my daughter baptized here and was so moved by the service and the community that we are now part of. The church has a school attached and there is even an area where you can light a candle for those you’re praying for. Only downside, they lock up the church so you can’t pray inside when you want to.
