Delanda Dog Inn

It’s certainly not the worst dog boarding place-​they have indoor heated kennels during the cold winter months, they have a lot of space and areas for the dogs to run around, the place seemed to be clean. They even laundered the dog bed we left with our dogs before we picked them up.
What I didn’t like, however was that they charge for every single thing. Extra walk = more money each day. An extra play time? More money. You brought your own food? More money. Various treats? More money.
We opted to bring our pet’s own food because they are used to their own kibble. For a 5 day stay, we packed enough for 7 days just to be prepared. Somehow, they used up all 7 days of food during the 5 day stay. I’m really not sure how, but it seems a bit suspicious. Maybe they fed our good kibble to some of the other dogs or grossly overfed our dogs, who knows. The truth is once your dog goes back through the doors you don’t really get to see what kind of condition they’re in.
I did mention that they washed the dog bed we brought, but I’m guessing that our dogs probably soiled in their kennel and on the bed because they weren’t taken out frequently enough. We didn’t pay the $ 7 extra each day to have them walked an extra 30 minutes after all.
When I dropped off our dogs and and picked them up I never saw any dogs in the play area, even though there were a lot of dogs being boarded. So I’m not sure exactly how frequently or how long any of the dogs get taken out.
I don’t think I’ll board here again unless I’m really stuck.

This is the 5^th or 6^th time I have boarded my dog here. They are very good to work with, even though my Boston does not do well with strangers. It took a stay or two, but now he gets along well with the staff and enjoys coming here to bark with the other dogs.
I only wish they took credit cards.

Great people here! They really care about the dogs! I am a dog trainer, and I have had some of my clients dogs stay here for board and train programs. Delanda is very accommodating and friendly!

We went with DeLanda for the first time at Christmas. They did a great job with our little dog. She was there for 4 days. The price was good. The kennel was clean, and they REALLY loved on her… which is what we needed. We took her own food. They allowed us to give her the bordetella through her nose, which is common with most boarders (save the label on the bottle and the receipt when you take in your dog’s shot records). The have a heated room at night in the winter. We will definitely take her there again.

We are so glad we found Delanda Dog Inn! When we moved to the area we searched around for a long time trying to find a place we felt comfortable leaving our dog. Each time we left her somewhere we returned home to a very anxious and stressed dog. One day I drove past Delanda and decided to try it the next time we needed to find a place for our pup. The staff were very kind and organized but there were two things that made the biggest impact on me. Firstly, when they saw our dog, they thought for a minute before saying «you know, I think she would do great by this new puppy we have — they would be a good match.» They were already thinking of how to make her as comfortable as possible. Secondly, I returned home to a calm, peaceful dog. She wasn’t anxious at all. To me that is all the proof I need! This place isn’t fancy. Your dog isn’t going to have their own down comforter or personal TV but the people who are working her have good hearts and truly care for the animals in their care. I won’t take my dog anywhere else.

This place is not the worst but I’m not sure if it is the best. We left our dog here for about a week during thanksgiving break. When we came to pick her up she was in an outside kennel and it was a cold day. They said it was because she had a bath and was just waiting to be picked up.
I guess that may be true and they probably had no ill intention but she’s a short hair dog and she was shivering. Then there was a horrible cut on top of her nose and her blanket had been ripped up. They said it was the dog next to her. Again, that’s probably true but for me I didn’t like this place. I didn’t like the fact that my dog came back injured even if it was because of another dog.

If I could give a sixth star I would! These are some of the most caring people I’ve ever worked with. Had a minor issue with my dog there and they called me right away and went above and beyond to give me the peace of mind a dog owner wants when leaving their furry family members in someone else’s care while away.
I’m blown away!

This place is truly top notch. I have 3 Dobermans and have only had house sitters for them. I was able to drop them off at Delanda and not worry about them. The place is very secure and they get to see other dogs in the other kennels. The price is great and I feel the staff actually cared about the animals. I knew I had happy dogs and that my dogs were treated right by the staff based on what the staff told me about my Dobies. She had played with my dogs and commented about all 3. The proof was in the details. She knew the eccentricities of each dog and who played with what toy. Unless they had spent substantial time with my pups they would have never known the difference. The best part is the dogs came home and slept like rocks. So nice! I can’t wait to take them back so they get their own «vacation».

I took my dog Tess there to stay and it was great. She had never been away overnight before. When I picked her up she was happy to see me, and I can tell they took great care of her. The prices are awesome and the staff are friendly and really do show how much they like your animal. I wouldn’t hesitate to use them again. Thanks for loving my dog as much as I do.

Their care for the animals is top notch, with heated sleeping areas, top of the line grooming, attention to special needs (such as special food and medication), and excellent customer service.
Be aware they only take cash, but this isn’t a reason to mark them down, a little preplanning and this is not a problem.
Also if you pick your dog up before 10 AM on the final day of boarding you are not charged for this day, and to me that is an awesome cost savings and service they provide.
I highly recommend this company to my friends and family and over the years they have used their services as well.

We always use Delanda Dog Inn for our 2 akitas when we go out of town. Akitas are very stubborn & very large. They never, ever have a problem with them at Delanda! Our vet is their vet on call, which is a huge bonus. (Not to mention a bonus to everyone, because he’s awesome!) For about $ 38, per day, for the two of them, it’s a great price for the peace of mind we have leaving them here.
Our dogs can stay in the same dog run, which is both indoors and outdoors. It’s nice that they can stay together and hang out while they are also on vacation. ;) The staff is very friendly and take excellent care of our pups. They always come home healthy, happy and clean. I can’t think of a negative that’s ever happened here. They walk the dogs, they feed them well (if you have dietary restrictions or need them to feed them different food or give meds each day, for a small fee, they will do this too) and they are just genuinely good with your pet. We took our old akita there, for his 9 years of life and he loved it there. They always greeted him by name and he was actually happy when we would arrive to drop him off!
My dogs are like my babies, and, I’d highly recommend Delanda to anyone looking for a great place to take their dog while out of town. They take good care of your buddies! :)

I used to hire a pet sitter or board my dogs at places that offered fluffy couches and country or island décor in little suites to pamper my pooches… until my ex suggested I try Delanda. He said that his neurotic dog just loved it there and didn’t experience the issues that he had at other kennels. Since it’s so close to my house, I gave it a try.
First of all I was delighted to discover that they’re terrier people! Not all dog people really understand the terrier mind, but these folks do. They laughed at my Jack Russell Terrier’s excitement upon arrival and knew how to hold him respectfully and securely in spite of his squirminess. And the place was filled with terriers, barking enthusiastically upon the arrival of a newcomer. My JRT was thrilled. He got his own clean and private little box (about 2.5 ft cube, I’d guess) with a fenced concrete run off of it. It’s VERY secure which is comforting for me since he’s a master escape artist. He immediately forgot me and joined the frenzy of barking with exuberance. Delanda provided a clean blanket for him from their dryer and I left him a toy, which he ignored in favor of investigating the scents of other dogs in the fresh air circulating through his run. By the time I left the place had gone quiet… until another car pulled in with a new dog! And the excitement cycle began again. I drove just to the end of the drive way, turned off my engine, and sat with my car windows down for about an hour, reading a book, curious to see just how exciting a day is at Delanda. No one came by within that hour, and the place was quiet except for the occasional cluster of 3 or 4 dogs barking once or twice.
When I picked up my little fella after 5 days he was every bit himself — not tired, not overexcited, just happy to see me. He showed no signs of stress and trotted along with the usual spring in his step. It made me comfortable enough to try leaving my blind dog there for a weekend. You can imagine I’d be more nervous about leaving my little blind, epileptic 8-​pounder anywhere. But he is brave and adventurous, and I figured with his brother he’d be ok. Fingers crossed.
Well when we showed up my JRT was out of his skull with excitement. CAMP!!! He couldn’t wait to get in his run and go sniff and bark. So we put him in first. Then I got my blind guy. Delanda let me put him in the same run as my JRT. He had a lot to hear and smell as I carried him in. I dropped him in the kennel with his bro, discussed his meds, and left with a nervous heart.
When I returned 3 days later he was all wiggles and happiness in a nest he’d made out of the blankets Delanda provided. Like my JRT, he was not visibly tired or stressed. He did sleep more than usual on his first day home, so he probably was not as relaxed as his brother there, but that is to be expected with a blind dog. The same is true when I leave him at a friend’s house for a sleepover.
So no more Island Suite or Country Cabin for my guys. Delanda’s simple kennel décor may not look like my living room at home. But dogs have a pretty different idea about what’s neat. At Delanda they’re very comfortable and are entertained by the scents and sounds of their kennelmates. And everything there can be easily and thoroughly cleaned, which is CRITICAL to the health of my dogs.
Lastly, the team at Delanda is just great. They really understand dogs, have a great sense of humor, and I trust them with my special boys!

I really like this place. And if you have read any other reviews I have written about my dog you know I am very protective over him. For the longest time when I went out of town I paid someone to stay at my house with him. Now, I take him to DeLanda and I love it and he loves it! Its fairly cheap and they always take him out to play with him and spend lots of time on him so he doesn’t get lonely. The dog runs he stays in are concrete bottoms and they provide a dog bed and toys (all cleaned daily in the washing machine). I trust these people completely! I have also had him groomed here before, and it’s really really cheap, and they do a GREAT job!
