So sad to hear this place closed! Hopefully, they’re relocating. The food was awesome. I highly recommend the steak tip platter! I ordered the steak to be cooked medium, and that’s the way it came out. Drinks were pretty cheap($ 8 martinis, $ 6 beers).

Littlest holds a special place in my heart. This bar has become our go-to after work spot and not just because of its close proximity. Drinks — good, nothing flashy but they get the job done. Food — above average bar appetizers — big dig fries are life changing and their quesadillas are spot on. Service — staff takes great care of regulars which is much appreciated! They also have an outdoor patio which is a nice change of pace in the summer months.

Food was ok. Service was ok. Near the end of our meal a couple servers and their friends were standing in the middle of the bar talking, about a foot from where I was sitting/eating.

Cool Irish bar. Very nice staff. Nice draft selection and far better clam chowder than I expected. Very good!

I used to go to the original location that closed in 2008. The new place is much larger and located near the waterfront. I moved out of Boston in 2006 and didn’t know it reopened. We were catching a Harbor Cruise and looking for a place to have a few pre-cruise cocktails. Well we only stuck around for only 1 beer after being bent over for $ 11 for 2 Yuenlueng drats. I hate places like Cheers and now LB that feel they can overcharge patrons. Certainly will not be coming back!!!

The Littlest Bar was bopping but definitely understaffed making it impossible to sit on their deck, which was our whole reason for going. We still enjoyed some expertly made drinks and the food was better than expected for a bar, but it is was a bummer to sit inside on such a beautiful day.

*** 11⁄2013 *** Service — Friendly Food — Okay But then I only had the Veggie Burger $ 9 ~All natural veggie burger topped with roasted red peppers, fresh mozzarella cheese and basil. Served on a toasted roll w/lettuce, tomato and onion. I’m pretty sure they forgot to toast my bun, as the split ends were as pale as could be and the bottom half was sodden by the ingredients held within. The fresh mozzarella and the roasted red peppers which had tempted me where there, but the patty itself turned out to be rather grain based and on the mushy side, although the flavor itself was decent — not sure why it is considered a veggie burger though. The fries were rather soft and pale, lacking the crisp surface that I seek in my fries, and a bit light on the salt. I did, however, see butternut squash soup advertised on their blackboard — hmmm… tempting… *** 11⁄2013 #2 *** I returned for the butternut squash soup. It was $ 4 for a cup, $ 5 for a bowl. They came with oyster crackers. It was a creamy, savory sort of soup. Tasty, but personally I prefer a thicker, creamier, sweeter(yes, I know, basically a badder for you) version. Service was friendly, but it was just the one gal running behind the bar, to the kitchen, to the tables with the food in hand… yes, she’s busy even though the place isn’t full up. *** 5⁄2015 **** So, their online menu is dreadfully out of date. But Jessica at the bar kindly emailed me photos of the current menu. I ended up ordering their Turkey Burger $ 11 lean ground turkey burger, ginger, cilantro, red peppers, scallions, fresh lemon juice, olive oil, watercress, soft roll, while upgrading the accompanying french fries to those of the sweet potato variety for a 50 cent upcharge. Upon pick up, I requested some honey mustard which they fortunately had, and headed off. The turkey burger was a goodsized thick puck dotted with confetti colors. As a sandwich, it looked rather dry without any obvious dressing on the bun, but I was told that the watercress had been dressed with a squeeze of lemon juice, and when I bit into my burger, I did not find it at all dry. The patty wasn’t exactly of a burger consistency as the meat texture was more mushy than ground, as is the tendency of turkey, but the flavors were good. The sweet potato fries were neither all soft nor all crispy, but pleasantly in the middle — soft with a light crisp — with a nice sweet flavor. And I really liked their honey mustard — I wonder what brand they use… Sure I was there during their non-existent lunch rush, but for a spot named«The Littlest Bar» it didn’t seem all that little. It actually felt rather roomy, with a good amount of space around each table. And they even have a patio out back! *** 5⁄2015II *** They let me order their Kids Menu Fish Platter $ 6 to go, which came with a choice of sides(carrot sticks, apple sauce, mandarin orange slices, side salad or french fries) and a drink. Broiled, please, salad, and milk. Plus a side of onion rings. The fish were two thick chunky pieces, firm white flesh. The side salad was impressive with two generous slices of firm cucumber and tomato apiece. It was pretty fresh. The onion rings were a little salty, but the batter fried up a nice soft crisp. The register priced it at $ 3.50 though the menu stated all sides as $ 3, but she fixed that up for me. All in all, a pretty healthy meal, particularly if you discount the onion rings and honey mustard… but I probably ought not to unleash the fishy smell upon my office… too often… Their patio proved popular with their lunch crowd on this visit. *** 6⁄2015 *** I hear that The Littlest Bar is getting forced out of its second location in near 10 years. *** 6⁄2015 *** You win some, you lose some. With a new menu, comes new prices. Take-out of sweet potato fries $ 5 and onion rings $ 3.50 hit my wallet a bit harder than I expected, but having noticed the words«new menu» in the window did prep me some. The fries lacked the natural sweetness of the previous visit, while the onion rings were at a more acceptable level of saltiness. Textures of both remained the same. Sounds like The Littlest Bar will not be surviving this next(last) closure.

Been here a few times for drinks and thought this was a good place with friendly bartenders. Menu looked worth trying but kitchen was closed the past two times I was there. Today went back to eat dinner and get some drinks. The bar was full so sat at a high top. Spent about 10 – 15 min watching the waitress walk by and completely ignore me. I simply couldn’t believe it so I just walked out. Very disappointing.

Friendly, little Irish bar near the financial district. The bartender was extremely nice and, despite the Irish theme of the bar, made great mixed drinks. The cocktails were only $ 8 bucks, which is a steal in Boston. Tons of bonus points as well due to the outdoor patio in the back. Boston is in dire need of more outdoor seating and the Littlest Bar delivers. I’ll definitely come back.

The Littlest Bar is basically the same bar as the Irish Times(they’re connected). Working in the financial district, I’ve stumbled there a few times for drinks after work. I enjoy that it’s a typical Irish vibe and I’m fairly certain the wait staff and ownership are from Ireland themselves. The Littlest Bar is truly little. It has seating for maybe 6 and bar space for a few more. But the spillover ends up in the Times and then a party can begin… I think the Littlest Bar is priced about the same as other bars in the Financial District. You get a lot of professionals and tourists so they can price things a bit higher than out in the burbs. It’s not a bad place to visit. I’ve never had an issue with service or anything but it’s just sort of A-OK.

I have been to The Littlest Bar many, many times. I worked around the corner for 10 years and would go for lunch often. Additionally, we would go for drinks after work. The day bartender Jessica is amazing. She is always in the best mood when dealing with her customers! My husband and I went to The Littlest on Saturday night(Jan 17, 2015), as we had a couple of family members in town and wanted to bring them out for drinks. We spent a few hours there, toward the end of the night. Eugene was bartending our end of the bar and, as he always has been in my experience, he was friendly and attentive. We never had to wait more than a minute or so to place an order. There was another male bartender as well, whose name I did not get, but he was a taller gentleman with a shaved head. Although he wasn’t serving us, when he came down that end of the bar, he made a point to say hello and ask how we were doing. When closing time came, the lights came on and they began asking people to leave. My husband and his cousin headed for the bathroom before leaving. They came back and as I was putting my coat on, my husband took a sip of his beer. The bouncer came out of nowhere and knocked the bottle straight out of his hand! I was awestruck! My husband headed for the door and I said«That was a bit aggressive.» to the bouncer as I was finishing getting my things. As I was walking toward the door, he said it wasn’t because«I just saw the 2 of them blowing lines in the bathroom.» If I thought I was awestruck before, I was sadly mistaken. I stopped dead in my tracks, went back, and gave him a piece of my mind. My husband had a ruptured brain aneurysm 4 months ago and is still recovering. Not only was it a COMPLETELYUNFOUNDEDACCUSATION, he continued saying«Yeah they were» as I was telling him he was wrong and out of line. My husband drinks Coors Light and that is the end of his list of vices. He doesn’t smoke and he CERTAINLY doesn’t do drugs. Not only that, the cousin with him is as straight as an arrow. Eugene did come over when he heard what was going on and apologized for the bouncer, which he didn’t have to do. I did appreciate that, but I would have MUCH preferred to hear it from that bouncer that the acknowledged his mistake, rather than continuing the accusation. I spoke to my husband and his cousin after the fact, because they could see I was quite shaken. His cousin was horrified that he had been accused of that. My husband then told me that when they went to the bathroom, the door was open(as it had been all night. Saw WAY more than I bargained for…). They heard shoes clicking on the ground and thought women were heading to the bathroom, so he reached over and shut the door. We can only assume that the bouncer took that as an indication they were doing drugs and didn’t want anyone seeing them. Talk about jumping to a conclusion! And on top of that, if he DID think that was what was happening, why did he do NOTHING!!! Some bouncer. I am absolutely DISGUSTED by the treatment received from that bouncer. I will NOT be going back here and I will not suggest it to any of the many friends and family that come to town. I do not need to hand hundreds of dollars to an establishment employing people with such ignorance. It is a sad thing, as it is a favorite, but I refuse to be treated that way. AWFUL.

Definitely an authentic bar to visit. Was brought here by a friend and had an excellent evening. The bartender was not big on conversation but he was polite and provided great service throughout the night. The Irish theme was very appealing and the music was great as well. They have a variety of beer selections, varying from tap to bottles, with reasonable prices. :) I will definitely be coming back.

Very unique place! You can get beer parking-meter style! Meaning you drink up by drinking all you want from the keg at your own table. Appetizers and burgers in the classic American style. Big dig fries are very nice with bacon and melted cheese on them. All in all, a casual bar to come and get drinks. Weather permitted-nice patio too.

Spent a few days here since it was right next to my hotel and I didn’t realize til the 2nd go round that it was connected via kitchen & patio to the bar next door. The staff is attentive and I was always able to grab a table to watch the World Cup matches. They have a neat self service keg towards the front for larger groups!

Everything in it’s time and place. Found this little gem while wandering around on my way to the train. Physically what an Irish bar should be, great beers on tap, interesting patrons and friendly bartenders. Live, Irish music Sunday afternoons. six minutes, or so, to South Station. Dropped in again this week figuring on a 4:00PM Late lunch, early beer and quiet conversation with my traveling son. Never thought of it this way but my quiet Irish bar must be an after work watering hole for the suited set too. Lots of fun so early. Washington son needed Clam Chowder and claims it’s as good as anything in Newport. He was impressed with the quality of the Guinness pour, something which went over my head. I found the Shepherds Pie wonderful and, as stated before, a hop, skip and jump to the southbound train. As the song goes, «I love this bar.»

So it isn’t actually«the» Littlest Bar(the original was closed years ago and actually was«the») but trifling little details like that aside — this is a great little place that luckily, is right around the corner from my office. I come here quite a bit for lunch and after work for drinks(they pour a great Guinness). The food is above-average pub food(they share a menu and kitchen with The Irish Times next door) and is delicious! The sandwiches and burgers are great; the salads are waaaaay above-average and sooo good, and the Rueben… oooohhhhh the Rueben. Not the sandwich you want to eat if its bikini season — but it is some yummy calories. The prices are more than reasonable for generous portions. The wait and bar staff are really great, the décor is really lovely. «Irish pub» has become sort of a throw away term in Boston, but that’s what this feels like. Definitely a more relaxed, less uptight crowd that is hard to avoid other financial district bars. One of my faves…

The Littest Bar is the very definition of a small Irish pub. Beer — Check Booze — Check Friendly Bartenders — Check Nice but casual atmosphere — Check Five or six guys sitting in a corner playing traditional Irish tunes and having a great time doing it? Check(Yes…I said Check) Best pub experience in Boston — YES. Thanks for the great time! We’ll be back!

Walking around downtown Boston, looking for somewhere to kill some time, and what did we hear? Some awesome live Irish Trad Music! Definitely brought us back to our Ireland days hard core! The music was awesome and sounded just like the music we heard in our month in Ireland, but then when Matt J. got his Guinness we realized they didn’t quite pour it like they do in Ireland, so almost an awesome true Irish bar :-) I also don’t know why they call it the Littlest bar when it is actually pretty decently sized inside! They serve food and have a full menu of average priced dishes, but the stuff that came out didn’t look like anything especially awesome to me, but definitely a good place to come and grab drink, ESPECIALLY if that trad music band is playing! So great!

The Littlest Bar is not so little, after all. And the shots they pour are FAR from Little! It was just down the block from my hotel — and with a name like«the Littlest Bar» — I just had to check it out.(There were a LOT of bars just down the block from my hotel!) Made it in just before last call on a Thursday. There was a spot open at the end of the bar — I knew I didn’t have a lot of time so I asked for a Guinness and shot of something to make me warm and happy. I must look a LOT younger than I am — the bartender offered up vodka and tequila. I laughed and asked for Maker’s Mark. Maybe it was a single woman ordering decent bourbon. Maybe it was late at night. Maybe the Littlest bar is always generous with pours. But DAMN, that was a happy making big shot! The crowd was friendly, the décor was subtle, LOVE the old wood bar. Could definitely spend way more evenings coming up with the answers to the world’s problems in this place!
