Nice guy and gives a decent haircut but be clear on whether its walk ins or appointments. I came on Saturday and they were closed and there was no sign in the window stating hours. Then I came Monday at 5, closed. Then I came on Tuesday sat for a few minutes then he asked if I made an appointment.

I’ve been getting my hair cut at Berkeley Barber Shop for about 7 – 8 years now. I never go anywhere else. George & Rick are both pros. I never walk out of George’s shop anything but satisfied with their work. If I call in advance they almost always fit me in.
I don’t even live in the South End. I make the trip to Berkeley Barber Shop because they always do a good job, the conversation is relaxed and the price is very fair.

Nice guys, low key place, great value for the South End, $ 16 for a cut and the conversation is pleasant. Check these guys out, can’t beat the value. Convenient for me as it’s close to work.

I really like this place. It’s convenient for me, since it’s right near where I work, and they treat you like a human being. But most importantly, their prices are reasonable. I’m really surprised to see some people give this place 1 star. I’ve been there many times, and I can’t say that they deserve this at all. If you need a plan old haircut. and you don’t want to pay for stupid gimmicks (which seem to be oh so popular in Boston– hey wait, maybe the haircut costs $ 35 because I’m paying for this «complimentary» beer you just gave me), go here. If you’re planning on going during lunch or after work, it’s probably a good idea to call ahead.

Honestly, Im usually not so harsh on companies as Im pretty easy going. This place was just horendous. One of my sideburns were chopped off while the other was kept long. Plus they must of only taken two snips off the top of my head and my neck was horrendous!
Paid 16 bucks and I will never go back!

Definitely a fan. These two guys are super friendly and they do a really nice job. I’m not a tough cut (buzz cut) but it always looks great — they never miss anything. They’re always able to squeeze you in even without calling ahead. Really wonderful guys. I probably can’t hurt to call ahead but the longest I’ve waited is like 10 or 15 minutes which is like SuperCuts at its worst. Definitely worth it.

This place is great – very good haircuts, friendly guys doing the cutting, and how can you beat $ 16 for a downtown haircut (without going to a place like SuperCuts, where I’ve never been too impressed with the results)?

This place is pretty good. It has gone through a few owners and employees in the past 2 years, but the new guys there seem like they actually care (about their business and my head).
Men’s cuts are about $ 18, not too shabby in this neighborhood.
