I was there this evening ordering an everything burger and the lettuce was full of dirt. I’ve enjoyed the burgers very much in the past but this time they made me not want to go there again. I am sure I’ll still go back since it’s the only place at the beach but I would hope that they clean their veggies before serving them.

If you dont like sully’s there might be something wrong with you. You wont find a better order of clam strips anywhere else. The greasy deep fried hockey puck cheese burgers smothered in onions, ketchup and mayo are my personal favorite. Loaded hot dog has never let anyone down either(2 bite max). And dont be wastefull, throw your leftovers to the birds.

How can you go wrong with Sullivan’s? Work up an appetite by walking, running or biking around castle island then head over to Sullivan’s. I’m a hot dog fanatic so that’s what I order. Simple summer food and a great view. It’s just a classic summer spot! Did I mention the hot dogs are $ 1.90?!

$ 14 lobster roll was ok, nothing spectacular. Clam chowder was good. Onion rings were a complete mess, basically a pile of fried fragments of batter and some sloppy onion pieces. Man those onion rings were a joke.

First trip of many to Sullivan’s. A quick hot dog grilled, a grilled bun, and mustard and onions. A double cheese burger hot off the grill. Just a treat for short money. Got there before 11am and on a cloudy cool day. No lines no waiting.

Picking up some lunch at Sullivan’s to picnic with at Castle Island on a nice sunny day is a huge treat for us. I love the fries for some reason, even though they’re nothing to write home about, they’re so good! Hot dogs are cheap and not too bad. My go-to is the crispy chicken sandwich. The lobster roll is a hit, so you can’t go wrong there. The ordering/pick-up process can be a bit of a wait during peak lunch times.

Nothing beats their lobster roll! When every other tourist trap around Boston is charging $ 20+ for an average lobster roll soaking in mayo, Sully’s cuts the price in half. Good meat and low mayo. Summer nights are best spent with a pig-out session at Sully’s and a walk around Castle Island.

Pretty awesome little spot. Food is good and portions are large. Seems to be a staple of Boston so worth the drive over to the island just to experience it and the nice view over looking the south shore while you eat. Mind you it was 32 outside so we ate in the car, but still nice. It was my first time eating a lobster roll so I didn’t expect it to be cold. Never the less it was good, but not great. Could just be me though.

A Boston institution for over 60 years — serving«beach» comfort food for Castle Island goers. Take a stroll by the water and watch the planes come and go from Logan, sit at the beach, walk the boardwalk, eat at Sullivan’s. There is nothing more refreshing on a hot day at the coast than a lobster roll. On a toasted buttery bun, the creamy lobster meat is a fresh taste of the sea. Take your pick of fried seafood, something to crunch on. And there are also hot dogs and ice cream. SEASONAL — closed for the winter. Open last week in February to last week in November.

Sully’s = summer in Southie. I love Castle Island and grabbing a bite at Sully’s makes me nostalgic for eating out on Cape Cod when I was a kiddo — it’s the same feeling. It’s always a bit harried in there — the crowd is big and the food comes fast, but the long lines dissipate quickly, and the food is always great. On past visits we’ve gotten the lobster roll(generous proportions), fries, fried shrimp, and soft serve ice cream — it’s no frills(maybe bring your own sriracha), but fried just right and tasty in a sort of traditional New England way(does that even make sense? I know«New England» isn’t an actual spice). Bottom line: if you’re on Castle Island and your tummy starts rumbling, you won’t go wrong with Sully’s.

Sullivan’s has the best lobster rolls in Boston. Hands-down. They are very generous with their lobster and it is not masked in too much mayo. The bun is a regular hot dog bun that doesn’t detract the flavor of the lobster, but it is soft and fluffy which makes the roll perfect. Fish and chips were eh. If you’ve had real English fish and chips, these will probably disappoint. The breaded-ness doesn’t stay on the fish well. Fried scallops — VERY good and cute appetizer because it just pops in your mouth. Shakes — deliciously thick. Pretty sure this is just the soft serve they usually serve on a cone in a cup. YUM Ample free parking, but can get crowded during weekends. Great grassy hill to sit on next door.

Very busy during the summer, line goes out the door. But don’t let that deter you as the line moves pretty quick. After you order they tell you you’re number, which you have to remember since they don’t give you a receipt or anything(which I find weird). I ordered the chili dog with cheese($ 2.95) and fish sandwich($ 4.25). The chili cheese dog was what you’d expect, just you’re average hot dog. I thought the cheese would be like the nacho cheese but they used shredded cheese instead. The fish sandwich didn’t really impress me. Most of the fish was tough and chewy; perhaps I just got a bad piece of fish. I might drop by again during the summer times when I’m at Castle Island, but I wouldn’t go out of my way to go there.

This place is open in the summer only! Every time I visit castle island, I always stop for an ice cream cone. We order the fried clam bellies and it was so greasy! It made me sick. Yuck. But I love their twist ice cream. It’s huge! The line in this place is ridiculous !! It goes out the door.

Big, big, fan of this place. Though there isn’t exactly a plethora of food options in the vicinity of the park, Sullivan’s ain’t a shabby choice. We tried the lobster roll($ 11) and a bowl of clam chowder($ 6) and was super satisfied with both. The lobster was very fresh and the clam chowder wasn’t too thick or creamy. I really should have ordered a milkshake here, instead of spending $ 5 at the ice cream truck… I hear the lime rickey is the drink to have, so that’s a next time project along with the milkshake. Service is fast, and don’t be deterred by the cashiers yelling«next» super loudly over the crowd.

You can’t visit Castle Island and not stop at Sully’s. Best burgers in town, amazing onion rings, and their soft drinks aren’t overly iced. Typical we get two burgers, mega order of rings, two large Pepsis(no coke here) for about $ 14. Soft served cones to negate that walk you just had.

What a treat after a nice stroll around castle island! This place has so many food choices that’ll be sure to please! This summer, I’ve already had their hamburgers, french fries, and lobster rolls! Sometimes the line can look crazy long but the service is super efficient and they keep the lines moving. Lots of seating around this area or you can walk a little further down the water and sit on the grass or benches.

You really don’t have any other choices for food unless you packed something from home. To see what the rave is all about, I decided to grab some lunch and walk around the surrounding castle island area. Walking up to the restaurant, you’re overwhelmed with the amount of people inside and outside the establishment. I thought to myself this is going to take forever to get my food, is it even going to be worth it? Surprisingly the line moved extremely fast as they had at least 4 people at the registers expediting people’s orders. Young gentleman took my order and as I was expecting a receipt, he just said remember this order number. Found it a little strange that you wouldn’t at least give the number on a receipt paper as you have hundreds if not thousands of customers a day coming in and out. It’s only a few numbers to remember but there’s always going to be that time where you have a brain fart and totally forget. I ordered a lobster roll, hotdog and lobster bisque. From order to pick up, it took no more than a few minutes. A lot faster than initially anticipated but you can tell they just wanted to get you and your food out asap. Let’s start off with the hot dog, it was good but nothing to go crazy about. They serve hotdogs with what it looks like to be in natural casing so it gives you the snap when you take a bite into it. Then we go onto the lobster roll which for under $ 11 is really unheard of in the Boston area. The sandwich has very light amount of mayo so it doesn’t overpower the taste of the lobster. It came on a toasted hotdog bun but to my disappointment it wasn’t toasted with butter. Last but not least was my lobster bisque. Taste was too sweet for my liking and a little of the thick side. First spoonful, I went searching for any pieces of lobster but to no avail. All in all it wasn’t a bad lunch as I was surrounded by awesome views of Boston and watching airplanes flying overhead about to touchdown at Logan airport. I will be back again in the future to give the fried seafood a try and update my review.

«Cheapest lobster roll in town» might dissuade you with the thought of questionable seafood, but let me assure you — it’s not only affordable, but delicious and super fresh! At $ 11 a pop, you won’t be disappointed with this meaty, lightly mayo-ed, toasty treat. And we’re talking big chunks of lobster meat — knuckle, claw, tail — not some itty bitty morsels that look like they came out of a can. Sully’s is the real deal! You can also feed your seafood hankerin’ with fried clams(strips or bellies), shrimp and scallops, chowder, bisque, you name it. Prefer your food to be land-dwelling? Choose from a variety of super-inexpensive grilled fare like burgers, dogs and chicken accompanied by your favorite fried goodies like french fries(regular? cheese? chili?) and onion rings. Most importantly, you can’t leave Castle Island without ice cream! The soft serve is the bomb, whether you go single flavor, twist or Razzle(think McFlurry). They also have a selection of regular ice cream and Italian ice. The line is long but the staff is exceptionally efficient at moving people through and churning out orders. Don’t be discouraged if it extends to the parking lot, it won’t be long at all before your food is in hand and you can find a sunny, grassy knoll to enjoy it on. Sully’s is the best! It’s absolutely worth the 4 mile walk from Beacon Hill. It isn’t summer until you’ve had Sully’s!

These are some good hot dogs. The kind that snap when you bite in to them. I usually get 2, or mix it up and get a dog and burger. It’s basically just good beach-side food. The lines can get crazy, so be nice to your neighbors while you wait. It seems like the menu gets bigger every year. Just visited a few days ago and noticed lobster rolls and a few types of ice cream. Maybe they’ve always been there, but I just noticed this time. Don’t eat at the tables in front of Sullivan’s! They’re crowded, dirty, and the gulls abound. Walk down toward the water, get yourself a bit more space and quiet. Walk down/around on either side of the fort, and grab a bench or a nice piece of lawn and chow down! Better people and pet watching down there too. Sullivan’s equals summer! I’m super pumped to start the seasonal ritual of coming here so early in May already.
