Not very good, tasted cheap. Super fast service. If nothing else was open I would go here. Fried rice wasn’t very flavorful.

I was skeptical of a Chinese delivery place that was open for delivery until 3:30 am daily, but Great Chef hit the spot after nightmarish delays on the T. We were at the Embassy suites(Logan airport) and they brought the food over with condiments, plates, and forks without even being asked. Small portions are big enough for two if you order rice.

The place sucks I ordered beef with broccoli and the sauce was sticky and so thick I couldn’t eat the broccoli it look like dark paint. The rice was ok; chicken fingers ok the lady had a nice attitude to other customers; she didn’t help me but I saw it. One of the chef had an attitude to other customers; the man that took my order was rude, brute, unsophisticated, lack of customer service, inadequate, etc . Nothing special about this place only thing is that they stay open late.

This was great. Very fast delivery, food was hot. I asked them to go easy on the peppers? There were none! This tells me it was made fresh. At 1:30 a m(I ate early!). Excellent!

Good food especially at night when nothing it’s open at 2am. Comes in handy during a night of drinking. Or when there’s nothing else in east Boston because there usually is nothing good around

I had a very bad experience… I went inside the restaurant and had to deal with some rude Asian woman that was complaining because I left her a dollar tip when she was just putting the food in the bag and charging me for it… If I’m doing a pick up and I had to tip someone, it would be the chef that took the time to make and provide good quality… Not the one who gives them the order by computer. I understands that she’s doing her job as well but my point is «DON’T BEG»… :-/and also don’t tell a customer to kiss her a$$

Nothing to be thrilled about food was mediocre. I have had much better. Pay more and get better food. I ordered the hot and sour soup and the mu shu pork. You can always tell when the foot at a restaurant is going to be good or not when their soup isn’t that great to start off.

So I just want to start by saying that yes, I am reviewing what many would consider«crappy» Chinese. That being said, I haven’t had Chinese this good in years. This Chinese food restaurant was everything we wanted after a night out drinking with family. The restaurant itself is a bit disgusting but I guess that is the price you pay for the good food. When you walk in the first few steps smell like trash but then you actually catch the scent of delicious food. The dining area is tiny and a bit greasy but fairly comfortable. When it came time for dinner, the fried rice was greasy and delicious like we hoped. The pupu platter was great and the lo mein was perfect. We throughly enjoyed the food and we are excited to have tried this place out. The next time we visit the area we will have to eat here again.

Friday Saturday nights going in that place is like going into the jungle so many people are drunk and should be more like a police holden station you literally take your life into your hands: going there their food sucks

I rarely write reviews but since I visit this place often I figure it is time to write one up. Let me preface that I am a lover of Chinese food both Americanized and Authentic(none-Americanized) versions. Great Chef falls in the Americanized Version. They do a few things well, which in opinion are some of the best I have ever tasted. These are: 1) Their egg foo young– fried, with plenty of fillings and a wonderful thick brown sauce. I did inform them that to make the thick sauce pop a little bit more to maybe add some fresh ginger and a hint of galric. Otherwise it is some of the best Egg Foo young I ever had. 2) Singapore rice noodles-Over the top flavor of curry just like the way I had it in Singapore. Again maybe a hint of fresh scallions and veggies at the end might bring this dish to even a greater level. 3) Appetizers– Their appetizers are pretty damn good. Their dumplings are tasty although very big and doughy. I like doughy dumplings but some people don’t as they prefer more stuffings. Everything else on the menu is not good. Bland and brown color. They really shy away from colors. Everything is BROWN, BROWN, BROWN. All you tasted is soy sauce and not much other flavor. Americanized Chinese food is not all brown. Don’t let them fool you. Good Americanized Chinese food has vibrant colors created by fresh vegggies, 5 spices, and not over powered by soy sauce. So if you stick to the appetizers, egg foo young, and Singaprore rice noodles you won’t go wrong with this place.

Ordered as 1am delivery. Fast. Hot. Loved the appetizers(egg roll and fried wontons). Pork Lo Mein was a bit dry. Still totally happy for late night delivery.

For all intents and purposes, this review can be kept vague, I’ve had much on the menu, and while not completely impressed by any one item on the menu, the hours are great, they seem to always be busy and cleaning, and I’ve never needed to «go» in an emergency after filling up on their grub. I also like that they have online ordering @

Food is alright, but the service is horrible!!! I mean it!!! It seem like if he hated me. I’m definitely not coming back!

Ordered from here over the weekend and the food was surprisingly good. My only complaint is that the large pu pu platter should’ve had more than 2 fried shrimp… JUSTSAYIN !! Otherwise, for what we paid, it was a great meal and I’d order again despite the mixed reviews

Great value for your money. Pretty much anything they make is very good. I’m just not a big fan of their lobster sauce.

I think there is one that is better than the others. So I’m reviewing on behalf of the Bennington street closest to winthrop/revere line. They have good food for a very cheap price. I have to say that the fried rice is salty and discounted but everything else for it’s price is very good ! As for the others, stay away because the portion size is smaller and also the sit down areas are dirty and smelly. Food still tastes the same a recipe doesn’t get altered from different locations.

I love this place! It’s not the best you’ll ever have, but it’s consistently good, the prices are reasonable and the portions are huge. I would give five stars if they had more vegetarian options. I’m a regular here and the guys are sweet.

This place is in a ghetto neighborhood and you can find plenty of drunk club goers chowing down on weekends after 2am and even rarely a scuffle. But the food is very tasty and the prices are very low. It’s often open until 3am on weekends so you can always grab a bite to eat in the area. I’m pretty sure they sprinkle MSG on their food because it’s mostly basic ingredients but is irresistible. One time I spent $ 30 there and had left overs for a couple days and inexplicably kept eating the leftovers even though I had far fresher food at home.

If you are in the neighbordhood, and want some decent /very good chinese spot in Eastie. This is your place. It have been for a while and locals rely on it as a safe choice for the late night. There crab ragoons are the real ones(unlike other places, aint sayin names!) and have alot of other choices to get. Verdict: This is a typical Chinese joint with good food that has an above average menu than other places in the area
