I got the herbal jelly w/fresh milk and lychee jelly, this is a very refreshing drink with two different textured jelly. The service here is slow, overall nice place for boba tea.

I love coming here. The drinks are great I always get the passion fruit green tea. I’m rating it two stars because customer service sucks. The girl who took my order was so rude. She’s Caucasian and has short hair. While I was handing her the bill she snatched it from my hand. She didn’t even want to stamp my stamp card. I won’t be coming to this location ever again. She seems to always be there when I go and the service sucks. She looks plain miserable. She should not work there if she treats customers this way.

Love cha time. Came here during lunch and seriously have never met a more unfriendly and cold barista. Will not come back here based on service and almost rude check out. The other locations are great.

I really enjoyed the hot tea, however the hot teas are only available in the large size which I felt was too much to drink. Also, when I ordered my drink I originally got the small size(person taking my order didn’t realize hot drinks only come in large) and ended up paying for a small. Another person making the drink told me it only came in large and was quite rude in informing me about the extra balance I owed. So overall, seems like the drinks are good but service could be improved.

Great bubble tea and all the customization options are great. Always tastes really fresh and yummy! However, this location is ALWAYS having issues. I’ve come in about 10 times and probably 6 of those times theyve had register issues or they had no boba or their machine needed refilling. Either way, it has taken up to 35 min to get my bubble tea. So, as much as I love their bubble tea, the management needs to fix up the staff or all the malfunctions because it is very frustrating for someone who is usually on a time crunch.

It’s okay. Have had better, but their happy hour is nice. Props for all the milks being non-dairy.

Chatime needs to train its staff working at this store a lot harder before they can come out and serve customers. I have been here twice and was never satisfied by the drinks they made. They literally add tons of plain water to a beverage that was supposed to be made for small sizes in order to make it look like it’s big. And no need to mention that they serve really really slow. I’m not sure if others had the same feelings as I do, but I’m sure that Chatime has lost me as a customer forever.

Very slow — 15 minutes for a tea with one order ahead of mine. Cashier was quite short with me when I was asking questions. Bubble tea was ok.

THEBESTBUBBLETEAYOUWILLEVERDRINK. I have tried so many bubble tea places in Boston, and nothing even compares to Chatime. Sooo delicious. Favorite bubble tea place ever.

I love that 2 star review below that said everything tastes great Everything tastes great! 5 stars Get low sugar though. The pearls are delicious
Menu is super confusing and the lady at the register got annoyed at me for asking what«medium ice» is. They need to simplify the menu and speed up the service!

There has been so many Chatime locations popping up everywhere! I like this location on Newbury St since it’s never too crowded and it’s very centrally located. I think it’s interesting that they seem to have a different set of staff that works at this location. And apparently, they had special drinks that catered to this clientele that’s not normally served at the other locations within Boston… I always get the Jasmine greet tea with grass jelly, 30% sugar and 30% ice. It’s just as good here as all the other locations I’ve been. I also really like the space since it’s brighter and more open, but I think they still lack ample seating.

Solid boba place and definitely one that I’d frequent if I lived in the neighborhood. It’s not the BEST boba that I’ve had and think it could use some tweaking to make their flavors pop. I ordered the taro milk boba made with real taro, which means the drink had mashed up taro in it. The texture of the drink was gummy, which didn’t bother me but might surprise others. I also had the Earl Grey milk tea, which was pretty good, but not the best boba I’ve had. The boba, the tapioca balls were not cooked to perfection– they were a little too hard for my liking and didn’t taste fresh.

I went not too long ago. First time there & I wasn’t very fond of it. I order a Thai tea & it was honestly the worst I’ve ever had.

4 stars for the location and I commend the business for being the only true boba joint on Newbury Street. Being from southern California and having an authentic boba shop in every shopping plaza — all that have their own unique concept — I’m a pretty tough critic when it comes to boba. Chatime ties with Tea Do for first place in my book for best boba in Boston. The Newbury location is consistent with the Chinatown one in terms of quality of drinks so kudos for that! I like how they have slightly unconventional drinks. Favorites include: earl gray milk tea and banana milk tea(recommend getting this with grass jelly rather than boba). Also I suggest getting half sugar — full sugar is really sweet. I like how the space permits a lot of seating room, unlike the Chinatown location. You just might not want to stay in here too long because there is definitely some ventilation issues — every time I’ve come in it’s been incredibly stuffy. The only downside is that similarly to its Chinatown branch, the service is painfully slow and the system they have is really frustrating to watch. But for a good cup of boba, I’m willing to wait a few(or more) minutes — just not everyone has the same patience.

I love chatime and I am a regular customer at both this store and the ones at chinatown. However, this is the second time this store does not have the brown rice green milk tea and they also ran out of the pearls. Note that this was in the afternoon, not during peak hours. Another issue that really bothers me is the inconsistent stamping policy of the rewards card. Each time I go, they tell me different policies. I make the same order using a coupon, sometimes I get 2 stamps while sometimes they refuse to even give me one. I hope they standardize this procedure in the future.

Newbury St. definitely needed some variety in their food options. I welcomed Chatime with open arms, since it seems like there are no decent quick food options while shopping on this street. Pros: + The boba is extremely soft and tender. Even when the iced drink has settled for 10 minutes, the boba is still chewy and has not hardened. + The all-white interior is definitely classic and easy on the eyes. + Sugar and ice levels can be customized by % numbers. + The employee switched my drink with a new one when I expressed that I did not expect the drink(taro milk tea) to taste like that. Cons: — They advertised some new drink flavors not listed on their menu through a picture marquee on the TV screens. When we had asked for a chai milk tea, they said they did not have it even though it was pictured on the screen. — The bathroom is half stock room, half bathroom. Although the area is clean, it definitely needs to be cleaned of the materials. — Taro milk tea is made of real taro, and therefore very chunky(to the point of powdery consistency). While I do think it is inventive to use real taro, I did not enjoy the drink texture and taste at all. And I love taro-flavored drinks!

I’m so glad this place has opened up and that Chatime is expanding it’s territory in Boston! They serve a great selection of beverages with a variety of options for topping, ice and sugar level. It’s a small place but not uncomfortable at all. The interior is very clean and minimal and makes it a great place to take a break from shopping on Newbury. Chatime still proves to be one of the better boba stores in Boston.(Although still not quite comparable to experiences I’ve had in California.)

Chatime’s fourth location, serving up the best selection of flavorful bubble teas in Boston! A great spot to relax and people watch on Newbury Street.
