Top quality tea at top dollar prices. While I still prefer DavidsTea, Teavana is a good alternative that you won’t be disappointed with. I’m very satisfied with their apple cider tea which, even though it’s a tea, tastes EXACTLY like apple cider. It’s a bit tart/bitter so I’d recommend getting it with the sugar. The store was clean, the employees friendly, and the products(based on the free samples) were delicious though expensive. Probably can’t afford to come here a lot but it makes a nice treat.

Horrible service! I tried to exchange an unopened gift set, and they would not offer any store credit. I was told that I could give the gift to someone else(as if I was unaware of that option). Really?!$

It’s your standard Teavana with a nice selection of teas and the sample brews. I did like the Oprah Chai, which is very smooth and soothing, as well as the wild orange hisbiscus, which is light, crisp, and refreshing. The teas here, in my opinion, are worth the extra brewing effort and cost. It’s hard to go back to your Bigelow’s and Tazo bags after.

I’ve been getting my tea here on and off for years. I just called 2 minutes before close and asked if I could get a specific tea. They stayed open an extra 5 minutes and had my tea ready. Thanks to Evan, Sophia and Emilia for helping me out.

I used to work at teavana so I visited the store for old time’s sake. This one in particular disappointed me and brought back none of the great memories I had of our store. The barista messed up my tea order and wasn’t even making the tea right, resulting In unflavorful watered down tea. None of the sales associates were attentive. I was extremely disappointed, never coming back to this place.

I must admit that I didn’t know much about this chain before going in to buy a Christmas gift. Is there anything in this realm that Starbucks doesn’t own? The sales associate(as mentioned in other reviews) was somewhat high pressure, but also made some good suggestions. I had to keep telling her that it was a starter gift… I wasn’t sure what the person actually liked for tea… so wanted to stick with something simple. She ended up selling me some loose tea, which tasted very good, but was 12.99 an ounce and the small amount I bought was about $ 44.00(must admit that I felt like a sucker). In all spent about $ 80 for the gift which was way more than I had intended. On my second trip in, I was more confident in what I wanted… I had done some research online. The sales associate(different one) was again very friendly and tried to steer me away from what I had wanted and also tried numerous add-on items, which I understand from my days in retail. It just seems like it takes away a bit from the experience. I will likely search out maybe a smaller, independent tea shop now that I am more familiar and know what I like… or just order online.

I think the prudential store is the nicest one in Boston. However I must say, their ceramic pots are over priced, who in their right mind want to buy a 200+ dollar pot just to drink tea? Over in California during my travels, I found the same exact pots teavana are selling for 60 – 80 dollars. So I’m not really sure why there is such a huge difference when its in the same box, it has the same color, same everything. Their teas are ok, I find most of their tea recommendations too sweet or just not my taste at all. I’ll just stick to the ol reliable green tea…

I’m updating this review to bump up from 2 to 3 stars. Apparently now that the holiday season is over, they are back to selling tea by the cup. There still is nowhere to sit and drink it; it just isn’t that kind of place. The store is still crowded with breakable wares precariously displayed all over, and in fact when I was in the store a girl knocked over the lid of a glass tea pot, which shattered(per my prior review, this is my fear every time I’m in the store!). The employee was nice enough about it though.

They opened one at the Cambridge Side Galleria. I watched the guy at the door insult and trade flip remarks with numerous customers and tactics did indeed work. Teavana has a brilliant strategy, they employee high pressure sales sharks and give them the green light to do anything and it works on suckers. The secret is that you don’t expect to be greeted by a used car salesman at the door of a tea house. It is great entertainment but highly overpriced tea.

The staff are a bit… yeah…answer questions with less attitude is all. They should have a menu for people to look at, so I don’t have to stare behind the counter and seemingly block the line(if there is one). Too many ways to make tea on display – show more tea! However, free samples, and good tea overall.

I’ve been in here multiple times and the sales associates can be overly pushy and generally obnoxious. I spend over a $ 100 per year at teavana, but I usually shop online because of the sales associates. Honestly, the only reason I ever go into this store is when I want to sample or smell any new teas before I buy a ton of it. I got into an awkward exchange about tea tins last time I was here(seriously, what is it with this store and tea tins? The tea won’t lose«all of its flavor within 48h» if you don’t store it in a tin, and the average person won’t be able to tell even after a few months of being stored improperly.) The lady who was working there tried to upsell me some tins, and when I told her I already had a few, she tried to convince me that teavana ones are better than whatever ones I could possibly have, as a lowly common non-teavana worker. I ended up telling her that I actually have multiple teavana tins at home, and that she should just move on because I wasn’t going to buy any more tins. In addition, she tried to upsell me more tea(I asked for 2 oz; I tend to only buy larger orders after I try the tea a few times unsweetened at home, instead of sweetened like in the samples), which wasn’t a huge deal – but I asked for 2 oz and she tried to convince me to buy a lb. 2oz to 16oz is not a reasonable upsell at all. I mean, most people don’t suddenly realize that they meant to buy 8x as much tea as they asked for. She ended up scooping 3, but the transaction has already taken about 15 mins at this point and I told her that it was close enough. As for the teas? They are totally worth the price. The blends are beautiful and amazing, and keep me coming back. I’ve tried blends from tons of other stores, but I prefer the fruity/herbaly teas that teavana offers over any other tea store in the US. In all, I wouldn’t recommend going to this store unless you’re just trying to scope out the new teavana merchandise or if you want the paper covered pretty tins(you can’t pick the one you get if you order them online). Try another one – or purchase in bulk online!

I wish that I could give them a 0 rating. EXTREMELY pushy and desperate sales associates. I was just in there not too long ago looking for rooibos teas with rosehips. I was shown a few but then I was offered«higher quality» teas(how she put it). These higher quality teas were white teas, which according to the person I was buying it for, are horrible tasting. The salesperson shows me the white teas after I say I’m interested in the red teas only. Then after saying that I’d take a half pound of red tea, she continues to push the white teas on me after telling her I haven’t liked it in the past. In the end she was so adamant about me purchasing white teas that I agreed to sample them. I asked for a cup to go. What did she say? «The line is so long though, you should just get it you and your friends will totally love it.» I agree to get 2 ounces of a white tea to sample at home. She begins to push for me to purchase an entire pound of it. I respond with«Why would I get an entire pound when I don’t know if I like it yet?» I begin to get impatient. At this point I just want the sample of the tea she wanted to push on me. BUTSHEISN’T DONEYET. I need to get an additional sample, a sample of another type of white tea. So I ask for another 2 ounce sample. She AGAIN tries to convince me to get an entire pound. I just stand there and look at her in complete silence, clearly frustrated. So she finally decides to ring me up. 30BUCKS!!! 30 Dollars for a couple of 2 ounce sample baggies. I take her word for it though, I assume that my friends and I will love this tea. After the transaction she then lets me in on a little known secret regarding white tea. They’re very easy to screw up and make bitter. She tells me to put an ice cube in with the tea before adding hot water. She tells me that I need to steep it at vey specific temperature. I love tea, but I’ll be damned if I sit there with a thermometer monitoring the tea as I steep it. I go home and make using her ice cube trick though. It taste HORRIBLE. I bring it back. They are not happy with me. Tough titty I say. They had to throw the tea that I returned away. Again their own fault. Word of advice? If you have a good product, let it sell itself ok?

Hmmmm… I don’t really understand the low reviews. I didn’t encounter a single pushy sales person. Everyone was pretty nice. The guy who took my drink order suggested an awesome iced tea w/rock sugar. It was sooo good. The barista was really nice(maybe a little slow). And who doesn’t love free samples? The only issue I have with this store is the size and the crowds. Fragile looking things everywhere+ tight spaces + ppl holding big coats in the winter… not the most settling sight to see. I was worried about breaking something the entire time I was in the store!

I recently bought some tea at Teavana after several times of just trying it and wandering around. Usually the staff drive me crazy and follow you around and make you feel uncomfortable, but my last trip was more pleasant. It was after the holidays so it was BUSY so I thought I’d be rushed at the counter while I smelled different teas, but surprisingly, I wasn’t. The sales guy I had was really nice and helpful. he did try to sell me a couple of the expensive ones($ 22/2oz) but I refrained. However, I ended up probably 2 pounds of tea. Some of the other reviewers are saying they use the tin to weigh the tea — yes, this is true but they calibrate the scale to 0. If your scales person isn’t doing this, tell them to do it because that is the proper practice and then it doesn’t account for the weight of the tin. I find that the samples taste stronger/better than when I make it myself so I am not sure what I am doing wrong, ha. It still tastes good but not quite as good as it does in the store — perhaps they are sweetening theirs? I am still in the process of trying to make my strawberry lemonade tea taste stronger and the same for the peach. The acai mate is pretty good and the chai was good… but I need to make it again myself because I bought the sample teas of the chai and it doesn’t taste as good as the samples, boo! They have great tumblers and tea sets but they are pricey. I think more promotions or sales would give them more business. Starbucks recently bought Teavana, so we will see what happens. I will say that knowledge differs among staff. I asked one guy how much tea 2oz makes and he didn’t seem too sure… I believe one guy told me that 8oz would make about 70 cups of tea.

GUYS! WHOA, STOPTHESHOWFOR A SECOND! I visited this Teavana on Saturday, June 15th to replenish my teas. Now, I usually order everything online because I cannot stand the pushy sales people. But, listen, I was sick for a few days before 6⁄15 and I just needed to get my sniffly and achy body out of the house(so where better to than the Pru to get Panda Express and Teavana). Anyways, I usually go to the Teavana in Copley Place(only because this location is in the heart of the Prudential Center and I get mild anxiety when there are so many stupid tourists who walk super slow around). However, my unmotivated body refused to walk all the way to the Copley location. Guys, this is the first time in the history of Teavana that a customer was not urged to buy useless crap! In fact, I had a great, unpressured, conversation with the saleswoman. Perhaps this was due to the fact that I said«I know exactly what I want» and rattled everything off. But even when I asked her what her favorite tea was, she asked«would you care to smell it?»(which I did not, due to allergies… but I did anyways). I doubt anyone else would get the pleasure of experiencing this great service… but give it a shot.

3.5 Stars. I normally don’t review soulless corporate chains of any kind, but I’ve been in here so many times that I feel I must. Here’s the good: — at least 4 free samples of tea always available, so when you’re power-shopping at the Pru and can’t find a drinking fountain in that godforsaken wing, you can stop in here and get some liquid sustenance — mostly full selection of inventory at any given time(vs. the tiny Copley location) — beautiful displays of tea pots and tea sets for you to ogle — sometimes knowledgeable/friendly staff Here’s the bad: — generally overpriced — not a great selection of teas from the Far East or particular types of leaves; too many blends, not enough pures — sometimes inventory on display and in stock is not complete, leading to having to check out other Teavana locations — sometimes not so knowledgeable/friendly staff – rather snooty, actually I’d suggest going to Tea Zone and supporting a local business.

Delicious teas. One problem though. Kind of a HUGE problem too. It’s way too EXPENSIVE. Outrageously expensive. Do yourself a favor and buy your whole leaf tea from an Asian market or something and make your own strawberry white tea roobios chai. And yet I can’t help myself from stopping in every time I pass by — if only to steal a mouthful(or two) of free tea samples.

This place holds the pushiest, rudest employees in the greater Boston area, for real. I used to be a huge, HUGE fan of this place– that’s how I got into tea. But lately, their employees have been super pushy to try to get customers to buy more tea than they came to get. It’s one thing to suggest some teas the customer would like, and quite another to literally take out the bins and start pouring it out for them before they’ve given the green light. There’s this one fattish, balding redheaded guy(I can’t remember his name)… He’s HORRIBLE. He’s clearly trying to get people to buy the most expensive teas in the store! And I asked for two-ounce baggies, and he would say that I should get four. How about you listen to what I want and pack me my tea so I can leave?! Oh, and he went so far as to suggest I’m fat by recommending this strawberry-flavored black tea, which«gets rid of your appetite». Well, buddy, looks like you could take an ounce or two of that! What a rude asshole. I give it one star, because I can’t give it zero stars, but also because their teas are actually good-tasting, although quite expensive.
