Should’ve arrived earlier to get food when it was fresh, hot and plentiful — However, what we were able to eat was decent, and the staff were pleasantly informative, hospitable and patient.

First thing is first — shout out to Aling Leony for being super friendly and helpful all the time! She answers the phone promptly and is probably juggling 5 other tasks. I’ve been wanting to do this review, but wanted to consistently try their menu before doing so. I will split my review into the following: store feel, grab and go food, catering, customer satisfaction. Store feel — It is a filipino mini mart that is located in a plaza with a blue sign. It is clean — so a big plus for me. There are not many products in the store that I’m used to seeing like in other filipino stores in Chicago, however I did not come to South Sea to do grocery but try their carry out food and catering. Grab and go food — Their food is very fresh for all the times that I’ve been there. We needed a filipino breakfast fix so we stopped by. We got bangusilog and tapsilog, Quality and quantity was pretty awesome! We even got a surprise longonisa in one of the orders. Fried rice that came with the combo was fresh and tasty. Halo halo is pretty decent but def phone it in before you go. Catering– From what I’ve ordered here are the following: Kare Kare — so bomb! Miki bihon– outstanding Palabok– really good Fish(can’t remember if it was tilapia or bangus) — but it was sweet and sour and good! Customer satisfaction– All in all I’m satisfied. The price is a bit more expensive than I’m used to on the catering side. I guess you pay more for a closer location right? Has it beat my favorite all time filipino spot for catering? Well I guess it depends on what dish it is and the price ;-) Check out this spot — staff is very nice and you get quality food.

The breakfast combo here is a great deal. The food, yummy, especially when you need a fix of Filipino food. Definitely use the service bell if the lady is in the back of the store. She’s really nice.

ordered from them for a baby shower on 7⁄14. food was BS. over priced. the«savory chicken» was basically roasted chicken from costco cut up and charged 4x. the«pancit» were also BS. packaged ramen style noodles with low quality filler ingredients added. Do not order catering from here. I decided to try it from a recommendation. I don’t like writing bad reviews but I cannot let this place get away with it.

The food is good but if it takes 10 minutes just to ge greeted and another 40 just to cook a short order item then seriously there is a service issue. 40 minutes in any foodservice establishment is unacceptable whether it is a phone order or not it should not be more than 18 minutes that is the standard. If it is a catering order that is more understandable in this case it was not. No customer should wait for one item that long.

Love this store! The lady here is real nice. Everytime we eat here, I feel like my mom is cooking for me. Combo meals are cheap and oh so good! I love the sisig! Best in town. They also have TFC on the tv which makes me feel like I’m in Pinas. I gave them one less star because they don’t have a lot of products. So far, my favorite Fil store in the suburbs
