Literally got lost driving back to Fredericksburg from Luckenbach, TX and stumbled into this old bar. The building was a trading post, grocery store, a Post Office AND a bar if you entered from the back…100+ years ago.
The wooden bar has now been moved to the front of the house and don’t expect to find any souvenirs or other chotskies here! This is straight up BAR. Nice local folks hanging out and conversatin.’ Was so neat had to stay and have a beer and join in on the conversations. Very welcoming!
Also, they have live music every Friday. Oh, and since they don’t sell hard liquor you can buy beers to go.
The bartender was so nice she even gave me a cute little pink cowboy boot beer koozie that oddly was covered with an advertisement for an attorney that specializes in DWIs. Thanks… and, um, thanks.

We stopped here to get a beer during our ride of some of the Hill Country’s great backroads. This is a fantastic place. The beer prices are great, and the bartender (a girl) was probably the nicest person we’ve had serve us in a long time. They allow smoking inside (and we don’t smoke), but they have a great covered patio section that overlooks a perfect Texas Hill Country scene. A great jukebox, and friendly people all around, and it doesn’t get better.
