Love this place is like home, the food is awesome no matter what you get. The staff is very friendly and the prices are good. I grew up on this area and I’ve been coming here sense I was a kid.

Good salad good hot & sour soup good specials before 615 Service is a little off cheese cake on special menu but«no cheese cake today«with a little roll of the waiters eyes !(sold out)? Went back again 530 Saturday night specials were great and they did have the cheesecake ! Just a note to be aware that cost extra …

My first time and was told the food was great, I did not experience it as such. The shrimp dumpling appetizer was tasty but cost twice as much as any other dim sum restaurant I have been to recently. I ordered the venison and garlic sauce spicy. The presentation was lovely with chopped mushrooms and water chestnuts. The sauce was tasty. But one bite into the meat I could tell it was rancid. When I told my waiter he took it back with no question and brought me my second choice, the lamb with garlic sauce. I asked for both of these dishes spicy, but neither was spiced to my preferences. The lamb tasted a little bit better but overall it was mediocre. My companion ordered the shrimp. The presentation was lovely and the shrimp were good size, unfortunately the black veins were still attached and took away from the enjoyment. I won’t be going back. I gave it a three for ambience. The food gets one and a half stars.

This is the best Chinese restaurant in Palm Beach County for sure. It is probably the best in Broward and Dade also(until someone can show me a better place, I rate it as the best). The only places I have tried that are better are in China Town in NYC. The«crispy beef» is similar to orange beef and is probably their best dish. Every time we go there we get two orders of that, plus whatever else we order for ourselves. Staff is ok but the exceptional food more than makes up for it. I will take ok staff with the best food over great staff with ok food any day. This place has the best Chinese food in south Florida, PERIOD!

Only 3 stars for 2 simple reason! 1 — No Spare Ribs 2 — No crunchy noodles In all the years and there have been many that I’ve eaten in to many to count Chinese restaurant in the US or abroad this is the only one I’ve been to without ribs. When you ask why they don’t have them on the menu, you get a dumbfounded look from the captain whose does admit at least 5+ people ask per day. This restaurant is upscale, prices here are very high even for Boca $$$$ However on the menu is the whole crispy fish($ 49.95) enough for 5 people that is delicious. Other dishes serve 1 – 1 ½ people not really enough for sharing if you’re a group.

We had a family birthday dinner with 12 people. Reservations were made in advance and we were seated immediately. The waiter came and had the most sour face. Not a great start to the evening for sure. The drinks were brought out promptly and two of them had to be sent back. Next we had appetizers which were good. The main courses were a mixed bag. The crispy beef was good; however, quite stringy. If we’re talking about my guitar, that’s acceptable, but in the food arena, not so much. One of our family members ordered a shrimp dish. The shrimp were huge but had no taste. Another person ordered a chicken dish which was bland. Not once during the meal did the waiter return to ask if we needed anything. I had to go flag him down three times to fill up our water glasses and/or refill drinks. The bill was over $ 500. This place is overpriced and the food is just meh. PF Chang is much better and the service is excellent. Uncle Tai — change your waiters and improve your food quality!

My favorite Chinese ever. The crispy beef is like a flavor explosion. Turning someone on who has never had gourmet Chinese. I would love to be able too eat here every day

Over the past 20 years our Asian food tastes evolved from Chinese to Thai and Sushi. Been years since I have been here. Invited for lunch by a friend who frequently dines here due to proximity to his office. The ambiance for a business lunch is wonderful. Quiet and refined. Beautiful table setting. I must agree with another Unilocaler that the staff is a bit cold. No real interaction. We ordered off the lunch menu. Tried the crispy beef and the ducked with plum sauce. Came with soup or salad. The tofu vege soup was delicious. The duck was also very good. Difficult to eat the beef with chop sticks because there was some grizzle that had to be cut by a knife. Certainly delicious. Sticker shock for a luncheon menu. Upper teens for entrees. I would say if you have a desire for Chinese food in a beautiful setting this may be the place for you.

First time I called, they didn’t pick up. I tried again and after a few rings I told the woman who sounded very abrupt on the phone that I wanted a delivery order and she said before hanging up on me, I have no driver right now. Not ordering from this place in the future.

At first glance looks first class but chairs are stained, carpet could use a deep cleaning and menus a wipe down. Food is very good, not Chinatown good, but better than most in the area. Waiters are glum – could be because of the very loud patrons who seem to forget it’s a dining facility, not a outdoor picnic. Next time we’ll try sitting outside, maybe we can really enjoy our meal.

First time at Uncle Tia’s and our last. Was really looking forward to going. I had made reservations two days before for a Sunday night. The reservation was for 6 o’clock and when we got there they had no reservation. They put us at a table all the way in the back by the door where the servers go in and out. It happened to be a rainy cool night and the door was always open with waiters going in and out as well as a chill from the weather. We were cold. The first dish I ordered was a beef dish deep-fried could not cut it asked for a steak knife and they did not have one in the restaurant. It was in edible to eat. They took the dish back and I ordered another instead which was less money and when the check came it was for the original item I sent back. The difference was only eight dollars but it was the principal. We will not go back it is overrated. 1÷3÷2016

I really hate to write a review, but this«chinese» restaurant was so bad that I had to write. The worst Chinese food I have ever had regardless of price. Do not, I repeat, do not order the Peking duck, it is not Peking duck like any that I have ever had. It was roasted duck dry and totally lacking any flavor, Just horrible, inedible. The pancake that came with it hard and thick. The steamed vegetable plate came cold, the fried rice(for the children) was cold and no flavor, The waitress said they charge 3.00 $ for Jasmine tea per CUP! Totally outrageous! I would not go there again even if it was free . On the way out I expressed my displeasure to the lady at the Reception, manager? all she said was«sorry about that» Do not go there if you want real Chinese food.

If you actually like Chinese food this place is great! If your idea of Chinese food is PF Changs, Panda Express or Pei Wei, you’ll be very disappointed. Try the Crispy Beef — it’s fantastic! The staff is a bit cold but whatever — food is great which is really all I care about when dining out.

My favorite Chinese restaurant in South Florida. Love the Jumbo Chili Shrimp, the Crispy Beef, the Hot and Sour Soup. I’ve probably eaten here nearly 100 times. And I always love the food. The service is excellent.

Been here a few times, food is really good however the last few times we were there we were rushed by our waitress. First time we arrived 2 hours before closing time and she was yelling at us to hurry up and order I didn’t take well to this and told her we were in no rush and to come back. She left in a huff then proceeded to come back every 5 minutes. The second time was a couple weeks ago we were seated near the bar which was great and again same waitress rush rush rush … Don’t think we will be back when we go out we like to enjoy drinks appetizers and dinner not feel like we need to get out.

Beautiful interior. We were a party of 6, with very few patrons in the restaurant, even for a Tuesday evening. The food varied from fairly good to mediocre. Over priced for sure, and in several ways not up to the standards of the local restaurants we’ve enjoyed. The wait staff were rather cold, unfriendly and aloof which was quite noticeable and very unusual. Our main course came a full hour after our arrival. The restaurant was hot, and our request to have the place cooler was ignored. Our coffee and tea orders were taken, but ignored as well, never arriving. Perhaps the worst impression l had was with the wait staff. The water glasses were filled by a very nice gentleman. Not Recommended

Food is ok at best service ok not great We started with edamame which came on a bread plate very small with no flavor at all Then we ordered the house special wonton soup which was pretty good not really work $ 9 for two tiny bowls of soup with one wonton in each but it was tasty For dinner we ordered General taos chicken i’ve ordered this this many places it is one of my favorite by far The presentation and the food were not acceptable at all it came on a plain white plate with no garnish or color very plain and boring the food tasted equally so. They put out white rice I requested brown rice they said they’re going to charge me more for brown rice very unusual As a whole I would not recommend going there at all go to Rocco’s tacos Morton’s or Brio for sure!

First a little about my mom, she’s so Asian she might as well have just gotten off the boat. She goes to American restaurants and orders Asian style food. But mostly she just finds the most authentic Asian restaurants and eats there every chance she gets. She’s heard raving reviews about Uncle Tais so after a shopping trip to Boca Town Center, we went to dinner there. When I walked in I was like oh god… it’s classy Chinese… so basically jacked up prices for fake Chinese food. I prayed that the place would prove me wrong, it didn’t. This is a place that I would go if I was absolutely desperate for Chinese food. I think there are great reviews about this place because everyone has different tastes. I looked over the menu and a lot of the food were what I like to call«American Chinese» which is basically Chinese food that I’ll never find in China, Taiwan or Hong Kong. My mom ordered cold noodles and it arrived with thick udon noodles… yeah…last time I checked, Chinese cold noodle dishes aren’t made with thick udon noodles. Maybe it was supposed to be a «fusion» of some sort but it just totally went wrong. I don’t do ice cold udon. Ice cold udon with sesame sauce is even worse. The lettuce wrap was the only good thing I had but it was huge and the first bite I took the whole thing broke. The traditional way to make lettuce wraps is to let the guests wrap their own, and there’s usually more than two pieces of lettuce. The seafood soup… uh…basically it’s like buffet soup with more real seafood. Bland would be an understatement. I’m sorry but I had to be honest. If you want to try authentic food, this is not it. If you want to walk into a clean classy restaurant that serves what look like Chinese food and pay a higher price for the food, this is your place!

It’s amazing to find authentic Hunan cuisine in the heart of Boca Raton. Everything is great at Uncle Tai’s and they’re consistent. I’ll break it down so you don’t have to order for yourself The Good: — — — — - * The scallion /green onion pancakes * soft shell crab are both very good. * The Hot and sour soup is as legit as it comes while the wonton soup was just okay. For Entrée’s all of the Uncle Tai’s namesake dishes have been found to be great as well. * Uncle Tai’s crispy beef was the first thing to disappear from our table. * Their General Tso’s chicken isn’t the breaded and fried chunks you find elsewhere, it’s clean pieces of chicken in a tasty sauce. * Garlic shrimp is a little bit spicy. * Dry Sauteed string beans really do bring me back to Hong Kong. ***** — Pro tip, get it special ordered with some minced meat. * Moo shu pork: Classic! Same thoughts as the green beans. The Okay: — — — — - * Fried rice — Fit the bill but not as good as other places. * Shredded beef What I’m still thinking about: — — — — - * The whole crispy fish hunan style — While it’s the most expensive thing on the menu($ 50), it looks amazing and comes recommended. Maybe next time we’ll be adventurous enough to get it. The Bad: — — — — - We usually come during«high season» and their service isn’t the best when they get full. They will often put large orders in front of yours. It’s frustrating to see a large table get seated after yours, put in their order after you and then get served first. This is a regular occurence and quite frankly it sucks. Also during our last trip, they wouldn’t make(or maybe ran out of) the Moo shu pork and green onion pancakes. womp womp. While the food IS good at Uncle Tai’s, the operations and service knocks them down from a 5 star to a 4. I don’t want to end this on a negative note — the food at Uncle Tai’s *IS* good, but they do have some problems.(Whose Uncle doesn’t?) ;-)

Invited here last month with some friends and have been here before and had a pleasant meal. We reserved a table for 6 one week in advance but upon arriving were placed on a cramped table for 5 and they were going to place a 6 th seat there. I looked around and there were lots of empty tables as it was 9 pm on a week day and seeing the table for 6 was open I decided to sit there to which the hostess became very persistent that it was a table reserved for a party of 8! Total BS! The meal was decent as it had been in the past, though the earlier encounter lent a bad taste to the entire meal. WHENWILLMANAGEMENTREALIZETHATITDOESNOTPAYTOANTAGONIZEYOURPATRONS… hence the 2 stars! (We left as the joint closed and noticed at NOTIMEDID A PARTYOF8 enter after we did) We may be back if the Management acknowledges this review!
