Very yummy. Wonderful hole in the wall kind of place we seek out. Wonderful friendly staff. Great atmosphere!

Beware of hidden prices! My two egg, meat breakfast went from $ 6.74 to $ 13.47!!! For two eggs, a thin slice of ham(like the kind you would put on a sandwich), potatoes and 1 biscuit and gravy! No joke. On the menu, it says Two Egg Meat breakfast. I asked for ham and she didn’t tell me that for some reason ham was 1.99 more. When I asked if I could get a biscuit and gravy instead of toast, she said sure. I can substitute the biscuit for toast and charge you for a side of gravy. When I got the bill, she charged us 0.75 for the biscuit(which was hard) and 3.99 for a tiny cup of gravy! If I had known it was going to be $ 4.75 more, I would have said no thanks. The service was ok. The taste was average. Comparable to Denny’s I would say. Nothing special. We won’t be returning.

No, it’s a local place and perhaps for the locals the food is good. I don’t know-not for me. The food is very reasonably priced. I went with a friend because of course the locals downtown said it was good and well kindly I suppose for the price. To each his own. The name caught us… there you go.

Great service, quaint /small spot but good location. En route to downtown Bluffton, but not on the main street so you could easily drive by without seeing it. Diner style menu with some appetizers and breakfast. Glad we came here!

I’ve never been but always see the sign off the highway. Gotta give it 5 stars for the name alone so it’s gotta be good!

It’s a greasy spoon. Quaint and kitschy. The foods ok… Greasy spoon fare but I’d go back just to grab a bite in a rush.

Got a great recommendation from our AirBnB hosts Lucy and Peter. Hessley was our server and was solid on the Hangover Cure breakfast. Also turns out she was from the same hometown as my girlfriend and we had some common friends. Small world and Southern Charm. Will come back.

We hated this place! $ 32 for lunch, and one of the lunches was a kids lunch. I had a double cheese burger, which was $ 9.99 on the menu, it came with fries and a really good pickle. The fries though, we’re pale shoestring type fries, with no seasoning on them, and the were soggy and under done. My oldest son ordered the grilled cheese sandwich it says $ 4.99 on the menu, same lousy fries, and a sandwich with one piece of American cheese, that wasn’t even melted. My youngest son had the kids corn dog. On the menu it says all kids meals are $ 5.99 and come with a drink. So if you do the math the bill should have been $ 20 plus the soda my oldest son and I had. Even at 2 bucks each, there’s still a 8 dollars somewhere that we were charged. But you’ll never know where the charge was, because they don’t give you a bill. You’re to go up to the counter to pay your ticket. When we got up to the register, the cashier rang me up and said 32 dollars and whatever cents it was. I just handed her my card, left a 4 dollar tip, and walked away disgusted. The décor on the inside, is a mix match of stuff. There’s a deers ass with an eyeball in it hanging on the wall. There are your typical pictures of locals or the mayor or whomever it is that may or may not be a celebrity or politician. There is one picture that was a bit freaky though, and quite cool at the same time. The little girl in the photo, seems to have her eyes follow you, and she turns from this sweet little thing, to a complete exorcist looking monster. The waitresses there are your typical diner style hash slingers, they know the regulars, they give you about 3 minutes before they’re rushing you to order. When you ask for a minute, then you’re on their last nerve, and they make you wait 10 minutes. The burger I ordered was so over seasoned with some kind of seasoning salt, I could only eat half of it. Our waitress joked that it was too big, and got the best of me. I told her it was awful, and I just couldn’t eat it, because it was way too salty and over cooked. The pickle was good though. Other than your standard diner style food, which was worse then the Hilton Head Diner, there’s nothing about this place we liked. To have food worse then the Hilton Head Diner, is saying something! And I’m sure there really isn’t a compitition going on, but there has to be something, because up until today. I thought you couldn’t be worse then the Hilton Head Diner. But Squat and Gobble just proved me wrong… this place just plain sucked Ass!

Had a local recommend this place, which usually works out for us. This time it did not. Went for lunch with a party of 6, and I won’t go again. Half of the party thought their food was decent(just ordered sandwiches). My sister ordered the chicken parm sandwich and it was inedible and my shrimp and grits were aweful. The service was also awful. The waitress had a big attitude problem, spilled a drink on 3 of us, when someone asked for lemons for their water she rolled her eyes grabbed 3 lemons and threw them in the water cup.

We are travelling and always enjoy local places where we can truly taste the local favour. This place is cozy but cute. The food was good and reasonable price. Staffs were friendly and nice. They had lots of local people. Strongly recommended if you are tired from loud and expensive tourist restaurant! Oh. They close early like 3pm.

I had just moved to Bluffton from Massachusetts where my favorite places were unpretentious diners or local mom and pop kind of places. I wanted a southern fix of local food. This place fit the bill. The name«Squat and Gobble» definitely adds to the charm. The Waitstaff is friendly and attentive, food is fast, delicious and fits anyone’s budget. The atmosphere with the singing deer or the«hostess» greeting you at the front door ;-) makes this place a weekly favorite!

Small town diner feel. Husband had gyro with chips and I had BLT and potato wedges. Good food and inexpensive.

Great food with a warm smile. Small restaurant with a down home feel. Generous portions served fresh off the grill with reasonable prices. Will definitely return again!

Darn good breakfast, fast and cheap. Had the chicken fried steak, wife had the Hangover Cure. Both were good portions, served hot, and tasty. Coffee is the usual weak stuff you’ll find at most places like this, basically cheap brewed Maxwell ground coffee. The place oozes«local». I would definitely revisit next time in the area.

Having recently moved to Bluffton, we were looking for a local eatery for fast, cheap, and good food. This place was recommended by a friend whose opinion about fast, cheap, and good food I will no longer trust. The food was adequate, worthy of 2 stars: pita chips were soggy and cold, as if they were taking out of a bag and plopped on the plate. The rest of the greek salad was okay. The hamburger was cold and the bun untoasted. The big disappointment was the service; it doesn’t even garner 1 star. The waitress came to get our drink order, never making eye contact with us. She was too consumed with filling the sugar and ketchup. We asked for extra napkins– she flung them on the table and quickly walked away. My husband and I are great customers and excellent tippers. We begrudgingly tipped 10% just because…

I was really excited to try out this place because of the reviews but was disappointing. I had a Greek omelet with the fried potatoes. We went around 10 in the morning but for some reason the potatoes were not fresh at all, tasted a day old. The omelet was odd, it had veggies and feta but no flavor. It seems there was no seasoning whatsoever. For Greek I expected a lot more since they had other Greek items. The service was a bit on and off and felt ignored most of the time.

The name and décor are by far the best thing about this place. The service is okay. THe service is quick, and the food is meh. Grits were HORRIBLE! pancakes were good. Eggs weren’t seasoned enough and they overcooked them. But by far the thing I found most annoying. I was dining with my guy friend and I asked for the check and when the waitress goes to give the check she shoved is in my male friends face. Doesn’t put it in the middle of the table, doesn’t give it to me since i’m the one who asked for it, but literally has the check waving in my guy’s face. I might be a southern thing that guys always pay or something, I dunno, but found it incredibly dated and rude.

Not bad for a simple little place that serves mainly plain sandwiches and sides. Good service, family place, many good deserts and very reasonably priced

With a name like Squat and Gobble, I didn’t know what to expect when a friend recommended we try this place. Oh, where to begin? This definitely is a kitschy place with a little bit of everything for everyone. This restaurant is not far from Hilton Head and is an ideal lunch spot if you’re playing golf or shopping off island. After shopping nearby, we had a late lunch there around 3:00 and lucky for me, they had a bunch of early bird specials that were quite enticing. :) I had the gyro plate with spanikopita, olives and fried pita chips. They also have salads, sandwiches, pizzas and lots more to choose from. This restaurant is open 24 hours for the local party animals that roll in about 3 a.m.(not exactly the early bird like me).
