My girlfriend and I just moved to South Carolina from Chicago, and have been trying to find a good pizza place. Mulberry Street Pizzeria has awesome, awesome food. The owner, and the staff are great. Highly recommend.

Had heard that the previous owners were really good but hadn’t heard anything about the new management. Decided to give it a shot on a Saturday evening. There was only one table of people and a few guys at the bar. We should have taken the hint. Our waitress was a young girl who seemed friendly enough and got our drinks and order fairly quickly. We waited for our pizza for a good 15 minutes. When it finally came out, it was wrong. We had asked for half of one topping and half of another. The whole thing was both toppings mixed. It shouldn’t have been that complicated. We had to ask a second waitress to get our waitress so she knew it was wrong. We kept that pizza anyway and they remade another one that we had to wait on. The waitress did not come back to our table often enough and I had to ask her to refill our drinks. The pizza tasted okay(a bit salty). A small family came in and sat down while we were there and waited at least ten minutes for someone to come get their drink order and finally they just left. I didn’t see any professionalism at this business and unless they drastically step up their game I won’t be returning.

This place would not even garner a one star review, if I didn’t have to give it one. We went in on a Tuesday night, at about 8 pm. The place was DEAD! but the Promenade was jumping. That should have told me something. I was with my 2 sons, and we had just come from lacrosse practice, so needless to say we were hungry. We started with a small salad, and an order of the garlic knots(I think that’s what they were called) when we got our apps, the salad was a small handful of iceberg lettuce, about 3 slices of cucumber and 2 rings of red onion. The ranch dressing was in a 2 oz. Plastic cup. That was bad, but the garlic things were even worse, when the waitress put the plate down, she said if they’re too burnt, I’ll take them back. They were pan fried maybe half a dozen or so, but they were rock hard, and almost black on the bottom. If you peeled of the top layer, they may have been somewhat edible, but I wasn’t going to buy this. The«Chef» and I use that term loosely,(because I’m a properly trained chef) was busy watching TV. These things should never had been sent out! We ordered 2 slices of their Sicilian style pizza, a slice of pepperoni and a calzone. The slice came out first, and it was AWFUL! this according to a 9 year old boy, who’s eaten pizza all over this country, my Sicilian slices came out next, and what I got was an embarrassment! The pizza was cold, and the dough was still RAW! but, what was said next, shows you that the«Chef» had his head up his ass! I would have fired him the minute he sent that out. The waitress took the pizza, back then came to the table and said the Chef says that, that’s how Sicilian pizza is cooked, it’s meant to be a bit doughy so it’s chewy. WHAT?! I said this is not chewy… It’s RAW! I then pulled some of the dough from the middle, and made a ball of dough to give to the chef. I told her to take the knots, the slice of crap, and the 2 Sicilian pieces of crap back, and just bring me a check. Our calzone hadn’t even come out yet. When it did, it was raw still and had a giant air pocket, it barely had any stuffing in it. That’s when I demanded to talk to the guy in the kitchen, funny though, he was no where to be found. The waitress said to me, that the«chef» told her to not charge us for anything. As if I would have paid I dime for the crap that came out that night. This place is a joke, and that’s saying a lot based on the crap pizzerias in this area. I never wish Ill will on a place, but in order to save any unsuspecting tourists or families that try this place, I hope they close this place. It’s a phony pizza place, and the«chef» should be flipping burgers at McDonalds. That’s about his speed. People that read this listen to me, and run away! Do not drop one cent in this joke of a restaurant.
