I stop in here once a year before Christmas because I can always find something nice for my husband’s grandmother – but, more often than not, I end up getting something for myself, too.(So why don’t I come here more often? Who knows – guess I just hate the mall.) I definitely find the overall quality and design of the merchandise to be somewhat superior to that offered at discount department stores like Target – but I’m never sure it’s SO much better that it justifies the pricing. I think you can make some great deals here, though. On my most recent trip, I purchased a beautiful, heavy, 100% cotton sweater with a zip front for $ 24. I probably would have had to go to the Gap to find some thing equivalent, and there it would have been $ 50. So, while I don’t LOVE Macy’s, it’s not bad.

I’m not a regular Macy’s shopper but after ordering a few things online, I had to stop in to make a return. One of the items on my order was paid for with store credit, so when I made a return of another item from my order today she would only partially refund my visa. The other parts of my order were fine and will not be returned, yet there was no getting my full money back. How they even work out how to divide the store credit portion of the payment I can’t understand and the woman«helping me» didn’t care to elaborate, smile or even act like she cared. Now I’m stuck with store credit for a place I shop at about once every few years. It’s starting to feel like a never ending saga and I certainly am reminded of why I rarely shop here to begin with!
