Enjoyed the Montanan pizza with Elk sausage, but service was frostier than a windy January morning on the Challenger lift.

I stopped by for coffee just after noon and they were closed with no note or other notice. Over the holidays, they were closed with no notice for coffee and for pizza. It is hard to make this place my regular stop when their hours are irregular. The staff, including the owner, could work on being more enthusiastic and welcoming.

Best pizza I’ve had in Montana. Cute space, we were served quickly even on a busy night(New Year’s). Try the Montanan.

Was able by a quirk to get reservations at the last minute, it has been a while since I have had good restaurant pizza and this was good. Service was friendly, and food came in a timely manner considering how busy they were. It was worth the wait.

Need a reservation call… in the AM. Great food. shrimp app yum, Salmon Risotto was great, pizza good, short rib pasta awesome, spaghetti and meatballs wonderful(according to meatball snob). Good local beers(honey rye, porter…) and other selection(deschutes, fat tire, prosecco)

Wow. Pretty dissapointing. Nice lot of extra touches like the shredded parmiagiano or geanno paddano cheese as well as red peppar flakes on the side. It looks good, price point is a bit high for pizzas. Having lived in Italy these types of pies should take 7 – 8 minutes to come out piping hot to the person ordering. I should not become irritated at the length of the wait, then decide to write a review, and still my pie hasn’t come out yet… It was just a Margherita 12″. Should take 10 min tops served hot. It was almost 3 times that. Then my order sat under the heat lamps for a few extra minutes just for good measure. Probably not coming back here for pizzas… you guys have done so much better. Not sure what’s up. Hope it picks back up for you.

I really enjoy this place. Great staff in the day time. Juices are on point. Atmosphere is great. Unfortunately I have now tried 3 attempts to go in around 9pm when Unilocal says they are open till 10pm and Google even says 9:30pm and have been turned away all times. Even this last time, there were plenty of people there still eating and being served cocktails. I understand if it’s a kitchen thing. But please explain because I’m starting to become unsympathetic to the fact they are turning people away an hour before Unilocal says so. I love the pizza and will always be there in the morning but just a suggestion to switch the hours or explain why the early closing. The date/prosciutto pizza is great when I can get it.

It’s a shame this place has 3 stars. Fantastic food, super friendly service. Corina was our server and she is one of the happiest servers we’ve ever met. We had the meatball appetizer and several different pizzas. All were excellent. Great job!!! Will return on our next trip to Big Sky!

We ate here last year when we were in town and really enjoyed their gluten-free pizza. We were so impressed, at that time, because the staff went out of their way to provide me with an ingredient list and make sure it was safe for my son who is also allergic to nuts. However, we were very disappointed when we showed up to eat this past weekend as a group of 6(4 adults &2 children). We arrived at 5:15pm(15 minutes after the restaurant opens) and we were asked if we had a reservation. I didn’t have a reservation and there was only 1 table occupied in the entire restaurant. I apologized and said that I didn’t know we needed to make a reservation to eat so early and now we know for the future. He replied telling me reservations are always recommended but that he could seat us outside in the sun where it wouldn’t be very comfortable to eat. We chose not to eat there. Then, we passed by there about an hour later after eating across the street and the restaurant still looked just as empty as when we had been there. We will not eat there ever again as I feel we were turned away because they didn’t want to serve us not because they couldn’t accommodate us.

The food is not worth of the waiting time… Pizza is OK, but pasta really sucks. Won’t come here anymore!

We came here after a long drive from Yellowstone. Hungry to death. The waitress told us that estimated waiting time was five to ten minutes but the actual waiting time was more than forty minutes. What followed was almost an hour wait for entrée and pizza. Stater was fast because it was raw. Almost died. But that is okay if the food is good. Unfortunately the food was quite disappointing. Although the starter was okay(because it was all raw), yet the pizza and pasta were tasteless and hard. I seriously doubt why there are so many people in Unilocal saying the pizza here was awesome. As my friend posted, this is the worst pizza she ever had. However check was extremely faaaaaaaaaast.

Overall, loved this place. Cute, great breakfast, great coffee. Nice atmosphere, cloth napkins and nice silverware, lots of self serve coffee and tea stuff including honey and agave. Great coffee, the foam on my cappuccino was thick and wonderful. We had a rosemary lemon scone that was just perfect and something I haven’t come across before. My wife had their homemade granola which was awesome and my daughter had their waffle which she said was very good but it seemed a little over cooked to me and took forever to make. I had the steel cut oatmeal which was fine.

Ousel & Spur far exceeded my expectations. Pizza crust was really nice: thin, chewy in middle, and crispy on outside. The toppings were excellent, and the menu options made it quite difficult to decide on a pie. I would make it my first place to return if I get back to Big Sky. Cocktails were a really nice surprise too. Efficient, no nonsense service who knows what their doing and balances a mild«i don’t give a shit» attitude with«I know my routine so well, I anticipate your needs» that I found it refreshing. And the whole thing was a good value.

Great pizza. For the adventurous I highly recommend one of their specialty pies. While their wine list isn’t extensive it is very well thought out. A must go to in the Big Sky area.

Six of us ordered 3 pizzas and wine. We were not disappointed. We’re from New York and so are particular about our pizza crusts. These were delicious. Thin, but not too thin. The wait staff were friendly and professional. Spur Coffee The next morning we went back there for breakfast because, with a bit of creative decorating, it becomes a coffee/juice/breakfast pastry shop. The coffee was hot and delicious. We tried the strata, the muffins, granola with yogurt and fruit, scones and the best waffle I’ve ever had!

The coffee was very smooth(which I loved, my husband thought it was«flavourless»). The barista was friendly and efficient. The shop was really nice — spacious, great ambiance — the kind of coffee shop you want to sit at(unlike the other three coffee shops I visited while in Montana which either had lots of flies and/or were pretty dumpy looking inside). I highly recommend Spur Coffee!

Ordered our pizza to go but wished we ate it there, since the food cooled off quickly given how cold it was. The autumn pizza(funny how they had not changed the menu yet, though it was winter), was delicious. The amount of chevre was light, which is my preference for such a strong cheese. All the ingredients were fresh and of good quality. The sweetness of the carmelized onion and balsamic glaze really complemented the chevre and prosciutto. The only weakness was the crust. But again, it might have been chewier had I eaten it piping hot. When in Big Sky, we usually have an early dinner. Ousel & Spur opens at 5p. Usually we can’t wait that long or do not want to drive back out. Haha, it’s just too much to drag our sore bodies back out into the cold darkness. But now that we’ve tasted their pizza, we’re going to make the effort!

Ousel & Spur Pizza Co(AKA«Spur Coffee») is conveniently located for those passing through, or heading to, Big Sky. Although I did not get to try the pizza, I did drop in a couple times in July for coffee, and once I grabbed a sandwich. The folks working here were friendly. The coffee was good, but their largest size for iced beverages is still on the smallish side. The flavor of the coffee seems to have a note of sweetness, almost like a hint of toffee. The sandwich was an artisan creation of prosciutto, cheese and a mild arugula. This crusty creation hit the spot on a hungry day. Convenient parking, with the construction next door, is somewhat limited for the time being. The patio is dog friendly.
