Jaime is so thorough and attentive to exactly what you ask for. The best haircuts I’ve had were all from him. Also very fun to talk to.

Jaime did my hair for my wedding also other occasions and he is amazing styling, cutting and color. My hair for my wedding was exactly what I wanted. A little Mary Anntionette mixed in with old hollywood glamour. He also did my makeup and I looked like how I always imagined. Jaime has also worked on photoshoots with me doing hair and makeup, he is a true visionary and a creative genius! He always explains what he is going to do before he works, very honest and ultimately a good person!

I had my first hair cut with Jaime about a month ago and was absolutely happy with his skills and service. Of course, my hair too, now a month later ~_~ Before him, I used to get my hair cut at Japanese stylist in WLA. My hair always come out so thin at the end and too many layers. I have fine and medium amount of hair and needs layers and volume. I always end up getting too much of one or the other and Jaime fix that one for me. He has a good understanding of hair and how it should essentuate ones face. He also listens and explains what he is doing. Most importantly, he does dry-cut, so what you see is what you get. No surprises after blow dry. On a personal note: he takes time on his day off to work on my hair because my travel schedule and also text me the parking situation since I am a first time customer. How thoughtful! I wish others can learn from his«service» mentality.

The first time I met Jaime was in a crisis with my hair. I’d fried it trying to do my own color so the back of my head was blonde and only 2 inches long in the back from melting off. I came into his salon with a big pink boa to hide my fried hair. It was a love a-hair from the word go! See I’m telling a bad on myself now, because I KNOW better… I’m a cosmetologist for GOD’s sake! I now wanted to add extensions because I missed my long tresses. Jaime calmed my nerves and explained to me the most logical & best tactic to take to achieve the long term goal I wanted. He reminded me about the quality of being patient and my healthy hair would grow & it would be long and luscious once again. So I followed his advice and waited… sure enough, my hair was long once again, thick & healthy went to a dark brown at this point. He nursed my hair back into beautiful luxurious mane that I know it to be. What happens then? I get another urge to go a warm chocolate brown, Jaime wouldn’t do it. He flat out refused. He said it would fry my hair because there was blonde under there and it would melt my hair. Well when I get a wild one, I go wild… so i went to another hair dresser friend of mine who didn’t know my hairs history, cuz I wanted what I wanted…& I got it for about a week til my hair started to fall off my head because I fried it once again. It’s still about 4 inches shorter then where Jaime had it too before this wild streak. :-(Will I ever learn… The next time I saw Jaime, I just told him to go ahead and tell me «I TOLDYOUSO!» We had a good laugh and said«Oh Well, the great thing about hair is that it grows back!» So over the years of my drama with my hair Jaime & I have become great friends. I’ve been going on about hair color drama. Jaime is also just as excellent at hair cuts. He always stays up to date by going to classes and workshops to improve his skills and knowledge. Tell Jaime M.E. says hello when you see him & give him a hug for M.E.

I booked Jamie to do my hair and make up for my wedding, along with the hair for 4 of my bridesmaids. I heard about Jamie through the catering manager at my wedding venue. During the trial he was entertaining, and very receptive to my opinion(though I really don’t have any clues about hair and makeup). He also offered suggestions for accessories would make the hair style even more amazing, which I really appreciated. During the wedding day he was also willing to travel to my venue(a big +), which I found some artists were unwilling to do or would do for a hefty fee. Although a bit late for the big day due to LA traffic, he was very quick and his work was very beautiful and professional. He especially did a great job on my hair and makeup and everyone was telling me how beautiful I was all day long. Definitely a great find for anyone.

Jamie knows how to cut an Asian man’s hair. I’ve gone to other places where they just don’t know how bad bed head can be. That knowledge alone is enough to get me a really good haircut at decent prices every time.

Just have to second all the 5 star reviews. After paying $ 250 for a totally bleh haircut and rushed service at the Montage in Beverly Hills, I was dispirited about my decision to go shorter. Jaime worked his wonders to give me a cool bob that turns heads without looking out of place at the office. He was super attentive during the cut and constantly checked in with me to make sure i was comfortable with the length, etc. Even gave me a rock-star updo to wear out on the town that night. All for considerably less than my «luxury» haircut in BH. As has been mentioned before, he’s super flexible on dates and times — great for those of us with 9−5s(or 7−7s as it may be).

This dude knows hair I tell ya! Definitely skilled in the art of hair bushido. It is super tough trying to find that one person that not only know how to cut hair but also get«you and your hair personality», you know what I’m sayin’? but this guy got it man and I will be client for life. Way to go bruddah!

Jaime is absolutely fabulous in more ways than one! Girls — have you ever gone to a «stylist» moonlighting as a con artist who will tell you ANYTHING to upsell their services? – **raises all four paws** – Well, I have to really thank my good friend Sniffles and his mom for telling me about Jaime! On a recent trip to LA, I was complaining like a little brat about how I’m am «soooo sick» of my trademark side bangs and wanted a THICK heavy fringe. I’m sooo glad that I decided to take a chance and do what I wanted instead of pleasing everyone and I’m so glad that I had Jaime there too! :) Now, for most ladies, hair is all important — even if you’re just cutting bangs. TRUSTME, I ALMOSTHAD A HEARTATTACK. Jamie is absolutely honest and does not try to upsell you. Of course, he’ll suggest things, but its completely cool if you are not interested and he’ll just continue on with what you want to do. He accomdated my schedule and was very careful not to cut too much off to avoid the«OHMYGODWHYISITSOSHORT» freak-out. :) And for the record, I was not freaking out. The heavy fringe turned out wonderful and I’ve gotten so many compliments on my new look. I had to do a little self maintenance so far, but I do plan on coming back to visit my new friend once I’m in the area again. If you’re looking for someone honest who can cut hair with skill and completely lacks the LA pretentious attitude, please visit Jamie and tell him Linda C. says hi! :)

So I debated whether or not I should write a review on Jaime — not because he’s such a great hair stylist — but because I was worried that hundreds would flock to him and I’d never be able to book an appointment, haha. But alas, after my seventh or eighth great cut from him, I just had to write a review: Jaime is definitely worth his talent. I’m a guy that has lived in LA for over two years. For the first year and a half, I jumped around to nearly 8 different stylists, but since my first haircut from Jaime, I haven’t gone to anyone but him these last six months. So long as you have a general idea of what you want, Jaime works with you to find the best haircut for you. He gives great ideas, and also is fun to engage with during the cut. For what you get, he’s reasonably priced: that is, you get a top-notch haircut that many people pay over a hundred dollars to get the same quality. With tip, my cut comes out to fifty bucks flat– yet it’s better than any cut I’ve had in LA, from the 20 dollar fast food chain-type salon, to over a 100 dollars at a high end salon. Aside from the great haircut you’ll be receiving, comes an interesting experience in getting to chat with Jaime. He’s definitely interesting, funny, quirky in a good way, and has a lot of little funny stories. I can’t believe how much pretentiousness I’ve seen or bad attitudes I’ve come across when getting my haircut– I’m pretty approachable and easy to talk to, yet I’ve had some awful experiences with downer-type personas cutting my hair. I don’t want a haircut that comes along with depression, which is why Jaime is a breath of fresh air. He talks to you, makes you laugh, and is generally interested in getting to know you. Each time I return, he asks not only how I’ve been, but remembers little details about our prior conversations. This type of friendly service doesn’t come with a price, it just shows he’s passionate about his job, as well as being passionate about his clients. He not only helps you with the style, but he also gives great advice on how to manage your hair. I never received that sort of advice from my prior hairstylists. Everything from how often and what types of shampoo/conditioner to use, to how to keep your hair looking great with or without product, what types of products to use for different looks, etc. But above all, the reason why Jaime is great, is because when you leave his place, you don’t just feel confident in your haircut, you feel good and confident about yourself, which is why I highly recommend Jaime to everyone.

Jaime is one of the coolest hairstylists in the area, and considering the part of town, that’s saying a lot! In the age when most stylists exhibit an air of pompousness and artificiality regardless of locale, Jaime stands alone as one of the honest guys in the business who truly cares about his clients, and loves what he does. It was a Sunday a few weeks ago, when the favorite Unilocaler and I were out with a make up artist friend for dim sum in Alhambra, and the subject of hair came up. Our friend enthusiastically recommended a Hollywood professional she had recently worked with, and that we would definitely not be disappointed. From the quick phone call after lunch, we are able to instantly determine that Jaime was a stand up guy who wasn’t out to swindle us. He mentioned that he was indeed free at the moment, but since we were all the way on the other side of town, it would take us awhile to get there, and he wasn’t sure if we wanted to drive out to the Westside just to see him. He was actually going to refer us to someone he knew in the San Gabriel area. However, since we were planning on heading out in his direction anyhow, it wouldn’t be too much of a bother. The only thing was that Sunday is usually Jaime’s day off, and his business was just about done at the salon. He was almost ready to go home! We had to haul arse out there, or miss out on the opportunity. Of course, you and I both know that navigating around LA highways is never an easy task, and what do you know… bumper to bumper traffic. With each nudge forward, we were getting more and more antsy, holding our breaths that Jaime hadn’t given up on us. After close to an hour, we finally made it out, and frantically gave him a buzz as we were approaching the doorstep. He was still there! *Whew*… and not a moment too soon! Jaime was just chillin’ in the studio awaiting our arrival, but had it been a few minutes later, he might have bolted. Despite our slight tardiness, he was more than friendly and accommodating, and didn’t seem in a rush or show the least bit of displeasure or attitude, as if we had been longtime customers of his. To clarify, it was only the favorite Unilocaler wanting to get a haircut, and not me, but in the end, she decided that only a trim was necessary. Jaime didn’t give us some canned sales job about how this and that needed to be done as many other stylists would have. He simply obliged, and proceeded with the simple trim. All the while, Jaime was chumming it up with us, talking about life and the universe, showing us pictures of some of the celebrities he’s worked with, and giving us recommendations on restaurants in the area. In the end, we were expecting him to charge us «Hollywood stylist» rates, but were quite pleased when the total came out to be more than reasonable, and akin to what we’d expect to pay at the local Supercuts! As you can see from the pictures posted above, Jaime has worked with some of Hollywood’s rising young talent, and to be able to get the star treatment at such a bargain price is quite the treat indeed! Furthermore, not only have we found a new stylist, but we have also made a new friend in LA. He even said to call him up the next time we are in town to go for some dim sum! Oh, and one more thing I purposely did not mention earlier was that had we not made it to the studio on time, Jaime offered to allow us to come into his home for the quick trim! What other stylist would give you service like this? And one we had never previously met, no less. Jaime is beyond awesome. Also, in closing, have you ever seen a hairstylist as yoked as this( )? Jaime would have Zohan quaking in his boots.

Jaime is amazing. When it comes finding a hair stylist, personality matters as much as talent. I could care less how awesome you are if you rock a ‘tude! Jaime is a sweetheart. He has a great eye and listens to what you want. He also gives great suggestions based on what you tell him. Plus his hours are flexible and you don’t have to make an appointment months in advance. I have«Asian hair». So I tend to look like I have a lot less hair and a lot finer hair than I do. It’s actually really thick and full, and you have to cut it with a lot of precision. It shows mistakes and unevenness like no other since it’s so straight. Most non-Asian hair stylists tend to not texturize it and thin it enough, while Asian hair stylist who cut exclusively at Asian salons tend to thin it too much as it’s the style in Asia. I personally prefer Asian hair stylist who understand our hair, but work with all types of hair so they can understand my more Americanized style. Jaime is exactly that. He likes to start off conservative, as it’s much easier to cut away more hair than trying to fix cutting off too much hair. He actually told me to wait about a week, play with my hair at home for a bit, then go back to him if I want my hair thinned a bit more. My hair now looks awesome — it feels nice and light, the length is just perfect, but it’s thinned and texturized perfectly. On top of all that, Jaime has quickly become a friend. I feel like I’ve been friends with him for years, rather than just weeks. Plus his personal style is awesome — if I were a guy, I’d totally dress like him too!

It took me 10 years and 3 cities to find somebody able to do my favorite cut again… His name is Jaime. Not only does he get it, but he takes his time, texturizes like nobody else, and throws in some complimentary talk therapy, as well. I know he won’t hate me for posting his number cuz once he took my call for an «emergency» at 11PM and squeezed me in next morning: 310−902−8039. He is so personable that everybody seems to want to be his friend… Jaime, you rock! There’s only one thing I’m afraid of: pretty soon there’ll be a long waiting list at your salon. Hope this review will give me a special pass ;-)

I’ve been going to Jamie for over 2 years now. He is absolutely amazing and I will continue to follow him wherever he goes. I wouldn’t trust anyone else with my hair. He’s got a great attitude and is willing to work with your schedule. His big thing is starting off small. He’d rather cut off a little and go from there, rather than cut too much and upset you. I love that about him. Above all else, he knows what he’s doing. When I go in now, I just tell him what I want and trust him to work his magic. He knows what looks good on you and what will/won’t work on you. It’s amazing to have that level of trust with a hairdresser, because boy do I have hairdresser horror stories. I know we all do! Oh, and he validates! Give him a call — you won’t be disappointed! 310.902.8039

i went and got the best haircut of my 6 decade life from Jaimie at his salon yesterday. Not only is he an artist, he takes as much time as he needs, is a perfectionist(when it is my hair that is okay with me) and he is really easy to spend a couple of hours with. He also doesn’t try to take advantage of the customer and sell products or services. He is upfront and honest. Hopefully, he will be my hair person forever.

Jaime at Stage 1617KNOWSHAIR. After bouncing around for four years from one just-OK haircut to the next, I finally found someone in Los Angeles who understands men’s hair. Jaime listened and understood what I wanted, made his own suggestions which were great, and was absolutely METICULOUS in his execution. I walked out with one of the best, most professional-looking haircuts I’ve ever had, and am still getting compliments on it two weeks later. All at a very reasonable price. I’m a total fan of Jaime — give him a try!
