Sure potbelly is a chain but it’s one of the best sandwich shops in Bethesda and the DC area. I love the Mediterranean and chicken and cheese sandwich. Everyone has a good attitude and are always quick to help you with anything.

Had a meatball sub it was toasted perfectly, not too saucy, just enough cheese, and the meatballs were decent. Grabbed a cole slaw, it almost tasted like pickles, but I like pickles so it was good, just surprising. The chocolate brownie cookie was chocolatey, soft and chewy and delicious. I opted for a pineapple coconut smoothie for my walk back and it was cool and sweet but didn’t particularly taste like coconut or pineapple that was a bummer.

I wish they’d get the charges/orders right. Last time I was incorrectly billed for adding avocado, which I did not. This time they gave me wheat bread, which I did not ask for. Lunch is busy but they need to slow down and get it right. I’d much rather wait for the correct order than not wait and get the wrong order.

My first trip to a Potbelly’s, and I absolutely loved it! The staff was amazing and recommended an off menu sandwich called a wrecking ball, and it was to die for. Now put one of these in Huntsville, Alabama already!

My job orders from here often. They rarely disappoint, and it is hard to please 45 people who all want something different. I am a picky eater so I completely butcher the salad(I get the farmhouse which is a premade salad and ask for no dressing, blue cheese, no onions, and no egg) and they never mess up. I love the fact they actually read and adhere to what the customer wants. I wish they did offer gluten free bread and snacks, because the sandwiches and cookies always smell amazing, and being allergic to peanuts i wish they had other chips than zapps(fried in peanut oil), but they do have other options like oven baked lays, and pop chips– and they always give us a variety of chips. They have options for everyone. I work with a vegan, a vegetarian, someone allergic to shellfish, I am allergic to peanuts and wheat, yet we are always okay with ordering from potbelly. My salads are always fresh and yummy. Definitely a good option in the Bethesda area.

Who doesn’t like Potbelly!!! I absolutely LOVE their sugar cookie and oatmeal cookie. You’re probably thinking how gross oatmeal cookies are but trust me, you want to try this out. Sandwiches are better than Subway. Potato salad and smoothie are tasty. Depending of the day, you might catch a live person playing a guitar. My only«complain» is their counter is high for a person who is only 5 feet. That is all.

Great sandwiches, salads and very tasty soup. I also recommend trying a shake as they are fantastic. My go to spot for a great lunch — the lines can be long but generally move quickly and always friendly service.

Love this place! Great customer service and sandwiches! I called tonight right when they were set to close and they said they’d keep the doors open for me! My kind of place :)

Sandwiches were good. I also tried the Broccoli cheddar soup which tasted great. I love that they cut out more of the bread so that they can add more to the sandwich without having everything inside fall out on your. The hot peppers are delicious… get all the toppings! Great location(near the cinemas, Bethesda row, Bethesda metro, etc) and friendly staff. Plenty of seats inside and I believe they have live music during lunch time?(I’m not too sure about that). Plenty of street/garage(public) parking nearby.

This is an excellent Potbelly’s location right by my work. I get the Works, regular sized, with everything on it, and their peppers are spicy and perfect. It gets busy around lunch time, but the staff is so nice that I don’t even mind the wait. You leave with a filling lunch costing around $ 5, which is a great value for Bethesda. The interior is always spotless. Great job guys!

My family discovered Potbelly Sandwiches in Seattle. To me, it seems that the staff of each place we’ve been to is friendly, helpful, and efficient at making your experience at Potbelly a great one. The two locations we’ve been to in Washington D.C. in Bethesda and in L’Enfant Plaza in D.C. continue to deliver that experience and great sandwiches. We tried several locale places that did receive good reviews on Unilocal but they did not meet the taste criteria. While they were friendly and provided good service, the taste of the food was not great… and definitely not as good as a Potbelly Sandwich. My son, wife and myself now look for these in every city we travel to.

Listen, you either like their food, or you don’t. I want to discuss their prices and customer service. I work around the corner from Potbelly, so I get a sandwich there quite often and we also order catering from there for meetings often as well. You can get a sandwich and get out of there for less than $ 5. For catering, you can feed 10 people for about $ 70. That’s insanely cheap, especially considering the quality of their food. But the main reason I keep coming back here? It’s not the excellent subs, fantastic kettle chips or delicious cookies. It’s not even the cheap prices. It’s the people who work at this specific spot. All of them are seriously great, great people. They are always smiling & cheery and rushing to get you the best food as quick as possible. While they are making your sub, they ask you about your day, whether you’ve seen any good movies lately, or your plans for the weekend. The staff really makes this chain feel like your neighborhood spot. They are also great about being intuitive — sandwich making backed up? Cashier jumps on the line for a few. Line of people trying to pay? Here comes the manager to clear the line out. You don’t often see such a well-trained crew. If you enjoy a good sandwich with a side of impressive customer service, this Potbelly’s is for you.

Yeah, this is a good meatball sub. I got mine with cheese, tomato, onion, hot pepper, italian seasoning and pickle which basically made it into a pizza. But this is way better. The meatball and pickle work surprisingly well together, and they give you so many meatballs. Obviously get the big sandwich, not the skinny.

Pretty much like any other Potbelly. I LOVE their veggie sandwich. I take it on thinly cut multi-grain bread. Tastes awesome! Especially like the zesty taste of their hot peppers. Service was fast. The manager /owner was welcoming and very friendly. If you are looking for a quick bite in the area, this is a great place to try out.

Seriously addictive malt shakes. Let’s ignore the scary calorie count, and just focus on the creamy sweet goodness. And the cute lil’ oreo cookies on top of your drink. And the round mini cookies around the straw. And did I mention the creamy sweet delicious goodness? Then… the cookies. MmmmmmmmMmmmmmmm cookies that has turned me a little furrier, a little more blue, and going«cookies» all day. I’ll try the sandwich next time I’m back, but for now… I will dream of you Potbelly(and work off my newly gained potbelly thanks to 2 shakes in a row)

Once my bf and I got to downtown Bethesda, we wanted to eat something light before we headed into DC to start our sight-seeing. A lot of places in Bethesda Row are sit down places so once we saw Potbelly Sandwich Works, we decided to eat here. I liked the fact that you could choose from their Original, Bigs(30% more of your sandwich), and Skinny(less meat, cheese, and bread than the Originals). I had their Original Meatball(Marinara sauce and Provolone Cheese) sandwich on Whole Wheat, while my bf got the Original A Wreck(Salami, Roast Beef, Turkey, Ham, & Swiss Cheese) sandwich on Whole Wheat. With each sandwich, you get your choice of the following toppings: Mayo, Mustard, Hot Peppers, Lettuce, Onion, Tomato, Pickle, Oil & Italian Seasoning. I didn’t add any additional toppings to mine, but I know my bf did. My Meatball sandwich was okay. I think I may prefer Subway’s Meatball subs more since their sauce is a tad bit sweeter. I had a bite of the Wreck and it lacked seasoning, I think my bf just had to put more condiments.

Looks like this restaurant chain is pretty famous down there in MD. I saw a couple of these while in DC this past weekend so me n gf decided to try it out. The place was clean looking, a few tables to sit at. The staff was friendly. I had ordered the Wreck, it was a combination of a few meats, Roast beef, ham, and turkey I believe. I had it on whole wheat bread and then they toasted it. I put onions on it coupled with the Italian seasoning. I was surprised when I took my first bite that it was a little bland, even with all that meat and seasoning, it was bland. =( Maybe it was just this certain spot. I hope not because I would def give them another shot.

Definitely one of THE best sandwich joints around. service is great… ATTENTIVE&QUICK. always. I am saying this because I’m very picky– when I place an order with great detail and specifics, they never fail to make it right. :D

So this place has grown on me. I’ve still been getting the chicken salad sandwich but been getting it warmed up and it is much much better. Service is still great! It’s become a lunchtime favorite for me.

I’m not the hugest fan of Potbelly’s Sandwiches, but I stopped in today on my way back to my office after stopping at the Wachovia down the street. I like the sandwiches enough, but they just don’t wow me. I was, however, wowed by the oatmeal chocolate chip cookie that I bought. According to the sticker it was baked this morning in the store! It was so good… I’m a little sad that I ate it so quickly.
