This is not authentic Puerto Rican food. The Jibarito was so bland absolutely tasteless meat. The rice and gandules was so bad. Who is cooking this food… not Puerto Ricans. Sorry not going back.

My wife and I had the croquetas, bacalaito, and alcapurria as apps and split a steak jibarito with arroz con gandules. We loved it all. Highly recommend for those with a taste for P.R. food. I’m often disappointed with P.R. restaurants but this one didn’t let me down once. Enjoy!!!

The food was very pleasant. I had the Ropa Vieja and it was nailed perfectly. The atmosphere is great as well playing all the old Latino music from my past and some new stuff. Definitely check it out for yourself. Love this place.

Camd here while i was doing laundry and the service sucks. The food was great but the service was horrible! I didn’t get any napkins, utensils and when it came time to pay one of the ladies that was just standing there made me wait another 30min to pay b. c she didn’t want to do it. If you get food order it NEVEREATTHERE!

Atmosphere is nice the employees are as well the only downfall I can say this great restaurant has it is understaffed we know the food takes time but sometimes it’s good to have that extra pair of hands in the kitchen 40 minutes for a jibarito is a no no but it tasted amazing!

On June 25th I had a business dinner meeting with some of my clients and I choose Café Latino. I have never visited this location but I was willing to give them a try. I was not disappointed, the service and the owner were great! The good was excellent! I wanted my clients to experience my Puerto Rican culture thru our food and Café Latino did not let me down. I am already coordinating my next dinner meeting there! Trust me you will not be disappointed!

I really really like this place. There are not that many good Puerto Rican restaurants outside of Humboldt Park, and this place is a little hidden treasure right off Cermak. Right when you walk in you get a nice trendy but homey feel, and their staff is really friendly and you feel like you’ve known them for years! All of their pork dishes are OUTSTANDING! If you go on a Saturday they have an awesome slow roasted pork dish that I would definitely recommend. The meat is so tender and juicy. I The Puerto Rican rice is delicious, and the Cuban Ropa Vieja is also really good, and you can grab a few cocktails as well all for reasonable prices. Very happy :)

Came for lunch around 11:40. Ordered pork chops with rice and beans. The meal was very delicious and prepared with little wait time. My family also enjoyed their food. My mother ordered a steak Jibarito, which I tried, absolutely tasty. My dad ordered Carnitas with rice and beans, he too enjoyed it. Not only was the food great but the customer service was on point. Our server was courteous and friendly. I felt very at home here. I really like the décor of the restaurant. Lots of vibrant colors. I will certainly come back and recommend anyone with the taste for Puerto Rican and Cuban food to stop by for a try.

I will never order from here agian!!! acapujias were terribly salty and the basil leaf was left inside of the acapujia. I ordered a Lechon sandwhich and the bread was soggy as well as every time I bit into it, it was like bitting into an uncleaned shrimp, tasted like sand particles. Over all people were very nice. Prices are way to high. I paid $ 2.40 for each acapujia(2) $ 7 for my sandwhich(isn’t bad but for the quality of the food would never pay so much). The quality of the food is not even worth a star. I will stick to going to café caribe they always have great tasting food low prices and very friendly service. Not to far from café latino.

I really wanted to give this place a chance because I love PR food and enjoy supporting the community… so I went three separate times. The first time I went. I ordered mofongo and Arroz con gandules. Mofongo was tasty, but the rice was totally hard and microwaved… second time I ordered a steak jibarito which was good for the most part. I went again recently and ordered croquetas… they tasted like freezer burn. They give you a mayo ketchup I sauce for it which was spicy as all hell… typically this sauce is Not spicy… ordered mofongo and shrimp and it was hard, tastless, and had no garlic it in. Super disappointing. The only tasty thing was the glass of water and the white rice I ordered. Sadly, won’t be returning…

Ehhhh…11 months later and this place has totally changed… The Cuban sandwich was like eating a dry, plain, toasted bread, w/hardly any meat & no flavor… And this time the arroz con gandules had no flavor at all… So friggin disappointed this time around. I’ll be sticking to Café Caribe in Cicero, on 26th St.

Very good food overall. Lechon, tostones and stuffed potato balls were on point the arroz con gandules was ok but nothing out of this world and a little hard for my taste. I’ll go back.

Came here on a Sunday night right after having a taste for some really good Cuban food. Rather than going all the way into the city, figured we try something closer to home. Overall it’s a nice little place with a very friendly staff. To keep this quick, the drinks tasted like juice, skip the chicken and ground beef empanada and get the Ropa Vieja, Cuban was OK. Bread needed butter and the cheese wasn’t melted, but still had good flavor. Bistec sandwich was kind of dry as well. We may try this place out again later… much later.

Found this little place in Berwyn and thought we’d give it a shot. We ordered two pastellio(meat pie) ground beef and chicks which were good but not as good as my Dads in PR! The mofongo with shrimp, which were huge, was absolutely delicious. Prices were decent and the music was really good. I would definitely come back!
