I am happy that there is a Gospel store for people to shop, but when the owner has crooked business going on, ITISSUSPECT. I purchased VIP tickets for David Reid’s ANNUALGOSPELEVENT, 2 ½ years ago online. I received regular tickets and I immediately brought it to Mr. Reid’s attention. To make a long story short. I never went to the concert because I NEVER received my VIP tickets, nor was I offered a refund for the FRAUDULENTPROMOTION. I was told that I should have returned the tickets to get new ones, REALLY, the concert was only a few days away. ANYWAY I LET Mr. David Reid keep my money, my mother was disappointed because she LOVES Rance Allen and the Rance Allen Group, amongst other Gospel artist, but he IS her absolute favorite. I tried the following year for Mr. Reid to compensate me for the misconduct the previous year, mind you I didn’t want to get anything for free, I just wanted to have that payment added to new concert tickets. I WASDENIED. At that point I asked Mr. Reid to remove me from his email support list. LOWANDBEHOLD1+ years later, today, I receive another support email regarding another upcoming annual event. Mr. Reid is asking for support from everyone to get next year’s event underway. MR. REIDYOUALREADYHAVEMYMONEYFROM2YEARAGO. USEITTOSUPPORTYOURFRAUDULENTTICKETSCAM. GOODLUCK

At last a record store in the Bay Area that has Gospel records. I usually order my cds online becuse it’s hard to find a good selection elsewhere. Reids is a very friendly place with the music you need. They have all the classics and even the new gospel which is great! I took my mother here to get a couple James Moore albums and she found everything. The guy who worked there was very patient with her and helped her find everything she needed. Every time she mentioned an artist he pulled all the their cds and that was really nice! While ringing us up he asked was there anything else he could help us with & he had a very pleasant smile! There was a little dog barking, but the employee said he didn’t bite he just wanted attention. They accept credit card and they don’t do refunds.

They should clean up and engage with customers. 2 stars for having what I was looking for.

Love Reid’s Records… I can walk in, hum a few bars of a song I heard, and voila — they get it out for me. Also the concerts they’ve been promoting are very good. I just wish they advertised more(maybe on Facebook, or get a website?) as I’ve missed a few I’d like to have seen. continued success to you!

Reid’s is one of the only places I’ve ever found in the Bay Area to get gospel sheet music. For that reason alone. Five stars.

Established in 1945 by two black American families, Reid’s was one of the first record stores to champion the soul and gospel sounds that would later become rhythm and blues. It’s astonishing that the shop remains in its original location, having survived the demise of the brick and mortar music store, though much of its graceful weathering of the digital age is due to diversifying its stock. Nowadays, its dusty shelves hold only a few sad rows of vinyl amongst the racks of cassette tapes and gospel CDs, but much of the inventory is devoted to the big man himself, Jesus. From spiritual guidance texts, Bible study books, dove-adorned tamborines, to our Denzel Washington-looking saviour with a lamb paper fans, the shop’s focus has shifted. Should you be looking to acquire a preacher’s cassock or blessed water bowl, or just dive into a part of Bay Area history, Reid’s awaits…
