I’ve had their steak sandwich and it was great. Went back and got their rib tip sandwich and 1lb of pulled pork and both were also great. The second time I went I wanted to get the baked chicken I eyed the first time and I still got all bbq… The baked chicken and/or the smoked turkey looked like promising healthy(er) options. And it’s super reasonable. The 1lb of pulled pork was $ 12.50. The best part are the employees; the employees are super sweet and genuine. It’s my new spot for days I don’t pack a lunch.

This place is so good! I had the shrimp and grits. Everything was tasty, and they are very friendly.

Ate the $ 6.99 breakfast buffet. Food wasn’t bad, but food was cold. They microwaved it to warm it up. Probably won’t be back.

Even though the meat looked very good, I only had a taste for sides today… primarily because I couldn’t decide on just 2 sides if I’d gotten a meat. Ha! I chose the Mac n Cheese, Sweet Potatoes, Cabbage and Greens. All of it was AWESOME! Perfectly seasoned and prepared. I enjoyed every bite of this meal. I tasted a little meat from my family and I can say that the smothered pork chops are GREAT! I’ll be back!

Ok. We’ve been here several times now.. .trying to give them a chance at redemption. They have a couple of issues that need to be addressed. ONE: The fried chicken. The first time I experienced it, must have been fresh out the skillet. Great taste, crispy and hot. However, each time since, I must be too late for the ‘fresh’ batch. It’s sad because the chicken has been horrible; tastes like it was cooked early in the day and sat in the heating pan all day. TWO: The Turkey Club. Huge sandwich.. .could be good. However, they only put a few scraps of turkey between Texas toast and a ton of garnish. I ordered it for take-out lunch. By the time I got to my office, I was sorely disappointed. In all fairness, I did bring this to the attention of management who expressed their apologies and that she would look into the issue. I haven’t ordered it again yet to see if it has been corrected. I really want this business to survive which is why I keep giving them ‘second chances’. I think they have great potential and I really want them to succeed.

Alright I’ve been twice now and both times I was pleased. I actually thought about it all week from the first visit til the second! Meat: the baked chicken and turkey fall off the bones. No knife needed! That’s my kinda meat. When you order the smothered pork chops you get two which is good because pork chops are thin so one is just a tease. Last time they were cooked well but today they were a bit tough. Still very tasty though. Sides: the Mac and cheese is great. The green beans tasted better last week than today. A little too buttery today and better seasoning last time. They were still good but just not as good. The greens had a bit of a spicy kick to them. The seasoning is on point for them though. And they serve real dressing. Not stuffing. There is a difference. I’m in love with their cornbread. It’s sweet like jiffy and it went well with my yams. Yes I mix the two. Pies and cakes are only $ 1 and a drink is included with your meal. I’ll be back next week :)

Often times we go to particular places for one thing or the other, and I don’t know about you… but customer service is EVERYTHING. I understand you want to know about… ISTHEFOODGOODBRUH… is it worth my drive… and TRUSTME when I get to that… you’ll gas up and get there. As I was saying… CUSTOMERSERVICEISEVERYTHING. I scheduled a business meeting there at lunch not having been to this establishment and many people I know hadn’t been to this place to give a heads-up so allow me to tell you… THECUSTOMERSERVICEWASNOTHINGSHORTOF5STAR at LUNCH! Both hosts were recent graduates of h.s., one on his way to SEMO. They were well versed on the menu, the specials, the lay out, and you knew from the moment they opened their mouths to the moment you sat down after them having carried your tray, and retrieved your beverage of choice… THEYWEREHIREDTOSERVEYOU, and that they did with excellence and pride in what they did. I know… where is this place… and why haven’t I heard about it… well had it not been for my travel through the 170 corridor, and then catching a super late at night(early a.m.) advertisement I wouldn’t have known about this SOULFOODGEM! I know… there are a few spots that BOAST, but this isn’t one that does, but once you GO, EAT, and ENJOY it will easily become your FAVORITE. I didn’t visit the restroom areas, but if it was anything like the front of house(clean as the dept of health… white glove military clean…) and the dining area… I’d believe you if you said you could eat off the toilet seat it was that clean. NOWONTOTHEFOOD: The had some very tempting choices, and almost exhaustive(The WIDOWMAKER, SHRIMPPO’BOY and the TRIPLEDECKERCLUB) were amongst the heavy hitters as far as sales go. I personally wanted a good crispy tripe sandwich, but the manager(who hadn’t tried it…) said I’d order from the table first if I were you. Which was her way of encouraging me to order from the steam table that offered liver and onions, smother pork chops, fried chicken, smothered fried chicken, meatloaf as entrees, then followed by sides such as green beans, sweet potatoes, mashed potatoes, mac n cheese, cabbage, black eyed peas, and few other mentionables. The WAYBACKWEDNESDAY special was an entrée with two sides and I cautiously proceeded ahead. I had the meatloaf, cabbage, and mac n cheese there were accompanied by cornbread muffin. MEATLOAF was more than enough, and I’d guess it was 5−6oz of a thick slice wonderfully tasty monolithic masterpiece of juicy, well seasoned beef with some green peppers, onions throughout. It has house made tasty gravy over it that didn’t over-power it, but complimented it. I actually and eventually ended up mixing it(the meatloaf and gravy with my mac n cheese). Now I must tell you this meat loaf didn’t have the traditional layer of baked on ketchup or tomato paste to top it… and honestly it didn’t need it at all. MAC N CHEESE — This is look a mix of grandmas home made mac n cheese that was made by CHESTERCHEETAH. Let me explain: most home made macs have that baked crust that sometimes… often times… has areas of burns that we just chalk it up to the mac game, and it’s still edible. Other times home made macs are so cheesy that they are soupy and you’d have to bake them in a crematory before you get a crust. This mac n cheese was a mix of golden yellow and orange deliciousness. I’d err on the side of caution of one of the BEST if not THEBESTSOULFOODMACS in our area(I do have a favorite MAC… and it’s from of all places a BBQ joint in the loop… UNTOUCHABLE) …it paired well with my meatloaf and gravy for sure. FRIEDCABBAGE: Just like my grandmama or my momma, or I make… straight from the south. It wasn’t terribly overcooked but tender and flavorful. A hint of salt, pepper, garlic…(I believe it even had some cayenne pepper flakes that gave it a nice kick) and possible in a light chicken stock broth. Had I not been on this diet I would’ve had to take the corn bread(sweet I might add) and mix it up in my cabbage, unbuckle my belt, kick off my shoes… and call it a done deal! My only negatives are be cognizant of your clientele with music volume… you may want to turn it down 1 – 2 notches so they can enjoy your food, the establishment, and one another without having to talk over or louder than the background music, and I wanted to speak to the owner(as well as my constituent did too) to simply behold the owner of this gem. TRUST I WILLBEBACK, and will tell others of the wonderful experience we had. We don’t have a place like this in St. Charles County and if you’re looking for, or considering a second location… I’d highly encourage you to head WESTON70, so we can bless you! Until then… I make it back I have a date with a CRISPYFRIEDTRIPESANDWICH. GODBLESSYOUALL, and thank you for your memorable service/experience.

Went for lunch for the first time. They have a decent sized lot in a strip mall. It was getting full but there was space. The restaurant is roomy yet cozy. It was clean and bright. I liked how they had several tvs. There’s a cafeteria line where you can select your meal. You can also order off menu at the counter. There were plenty of dessert options too. I got the ol Henry widowmaker which had a huge burger that was very well seasoned. Plenty of lettuce, tomato, onions, and a slice of cheese. There was also bacon!!! All this was put on the burger and the veggies were very fresh. The burger was on a glazed donut that brought in the sweet and salty factor. The burger was tasty and I would get it again. I wasn’t sure if the donut was grilled or not, but it would be nice if it was. The meal came with a side. I got the sweet potatoes and they were definitely extra sweet with the juice, but it was good. They bring you the drink and utensils. I saw the banana pudding with vanilla wafers but didn’t get it. I should’ve but am attempting to eat a little healthier. Next time no donut and pudding instead. Some had cornbread muffins and that looked really tasty too. They have lots of sandwiches and the cafeteria line has chicken, fish, pork chops. They also serve breakfast in the morning.

I went to this restaurant for the first time on Saturday. I ordered the ribs, mac and cheese, green beans and peach cobbler. My fiancé order the steak sandwich, fries and Carmel cake. The worker initially put a teaspoon of mac and cheese on my to go plate. I requested she put more on my plate. She put a little more on my plate. The portion size of the sides are very small. The desert portion sizes were small for $ 3.00. The food smelled great on the ride home so I was eager to try it. My ribs had a lot of fat on them. The green beans were seasoned well. The mac and cheese was okay. My fiancé said his steak sandwich was more like a chopped up burger. The Carmel cake was dry, instead of moist. I like to support neighborhood businesses but I’m not sure I will return. I was not impressed with the quality of food.

Upon walking into Ol Henry’s, the staff greeted us and were very hospitible. We were invited to take a look at the buffet first. The fried chicken wings were HUGE, tender and crispy, the cabbage had a kick of spice, the mac and cheese was very creamy and cheesy, the rice was well seasoned, the banana pudding was light, fluffy and full of flavor. It reminded me of the banana pudding my mom made on hot summer days of childhood. Ol Henry is a great place for a delicious and affordable meal:-)
