My egg and cheese sandwich was O K(thankfully). Everything else was gross! Our mozzarella sticks weren’t even fully cooked. Cheese looked weird. French fries taste freezer burn. My boyfriend was not satisfied. And our waitress was no where to be found when we were ready to leave that dump.

Having such love for Michael’s the night club/diner down the road, we have given this place way too many attempts to be good. Sadly at it’s best it is an OK diner. We have come for dinner and they do run great specials from 5 – 7 pm on a full dinnner that includes the salad bar, an entrée, dessert and a drink for only $ 10-$ 12. I’ve ordered the chicken parm, which I was not impressed with at all. The pasta was harder than al dente and the sauce was definitely Ragu just poured on. Then on another occassion I ordered Chicken a la broccoli. This was also not what I expected, but actually in a good way. As for the salad bar, they do have a good selection — everything from a good chicken salad to a few Greek delights. It is the best part of the meal for me. Although stay clear from the stale bread just dumped in a box on the side of the bar. If you come for dinner during the week, it’s basically all senior citizens, not much of a crowd. I think if you are not too picky, then this is a good bang for your buck dinner place.

The food has been great every time I’ve eaten there, maybe 20 times or so. The servers are pretty good too. My one and only complaint is about the attention – or lack thereof – when first walking in. It’s usually 1 or 2 middle-aged women(I assume they are managers), and they carry on conversations with each other or other customers, or they’re by themselves, shuffling papers or whatever at the hostess bar. They ignore you until they’re ready to do what they’re supposed to – greet and seat. They never say«I’ll be right with you» or «give me just a moment» or «sorry, we’re really busy today». They don’t say anything or look in your direction. I don’t want to feel like I’m a burden to someone when I walk into a restaurant.

Tasty and simple. Not fancy but we didn’t want fancy. I wanted a decent salad bar and my girlfriend wanted a chicken dish with a salad. Both goals were met and the meal was priced right too. The young couple(they looked local) next to us had cheese steaks and looked quite happy with them. Michael’s is basically a diner that caters to the older crowd of the area. I wouldn’t travel there from too far away(there are probably similar spots in most areas), but if you are on Street Road in Bensalem, you’ll have a decent meal.

I have eaten at Michael’s quite a lot and was surprised by the negative comments. I have never had to wait to have a waitress come to the table. After being seated they normally arrive with silverware and asking what you want to drink. No matter with what I order I am quite pleased with the food and service. All the waitress and busboys are friendly.

Dropped in hear this morning for breakfast. Wound up ordering off the breakfast specials menu. That’s after I got waited on. Almost 10 min for a waiter, then after finally came. She was very nasty. So I end up getting the two eggs with hash browns, toast, coffee and scrapple. Waited 5 min for coffee and Waited another 10 minutes for my food to arrive, just never expected this. The food was okay. But had better. I don’t know if I will ever see myself back hear again for breakfast.

Went for a late night meal after the Parx Casino. They have a late night menu ranging from sandwiches, salads and breakfast. Order came out fast and the waiter was very attentive. Ordered egg whites omelette and bf ordered the turkey club with bacon. I’m not a fan of clubs but this one was really good! Equivalent to Jersey diners.

Nice place, nearly what you expect a decent diner to be. Been twice to this place and expect to come back. Salad bar is definitely a highlight. Food-wise typical diner choices but somehow specials listed on the board up front are not on the printed specials sheet in the menu? Either way, lots of pasta dishes looked similar to what you would get at an Olive Garden. Roasted ham turned up to be some deli style(nitrates and sodium packed?) ham heated on the grill. Crab cakes were huge and definitely had some crab in them… must be home made. Expect to try some specials on the board, will report back…

Food is good. Waiters/waitresses are good. Prices are kind of high for the environment here. One of the hostesses should be fired. Won’t mention her name but regular diners know who she is.

I was staying across the street from this restaurant and thought that I would check it out based on the reviews. Despite it’s dated façade — I decided to give it a try. All entrées come with either soup or the salad bar. I chose the salad bar which was absolutely spectacular! The only thing that struck me as being strange at the bar is that the dressings were not properly labeled — I took a chance on the blue cheese which look like ranch dressing and luckily I was right! I ordered the roast turkey dinner based on the waitresses recommendation. Unfortunately when it came out my vegetable and maincourse were not hot. I sent it back and it was quickly brought up to temperature however I found the stuffing oddly crispy, and the gravy that was covering the turkey was a little strange looking. Overall my dinner was really just okay and I could not recommend this restaurant. I wish I had better things to say about it because — staff was nice and I’m sure that it’s challenging for these folks to make a living. But they really need to do a better job with their food quality & preparation and presentation!

Let’s just start off with, this is not my first time here. I’ve been coming here since I was my mothers baby. Now, a young adult and a hospitality professional I think I can add my two cents. I loved this place and was a regular but I see myself coming in less and less. Not to mention I live in center city and travel here to have a feel of being at home. Its becoming a waste. Service is horrible. 15−20mins for waters. Hearing personal complaints of servers at each table. Sorry but save the drama, I came to eat. Being able to identify that my server doesn’t give a sh**. No thank you. This was a great place… a long time ago. Its a shame to see it go down like this. Wish it the best. This will be my last visit here. I lost hope.

Very average food and atmosphere. While the salad bar was pretty good, the food was mediocre. We probably will not be back.

Just ok. Pea soup was average. I could do without the greasy crutons they added. Greek wrap was kind of bland. And my sister said Mcdonalds has better chicken fingers. Would return if desperate. Only because its open late.

Wow! What a great place! Came here after a rousing day at the races with some friends. What excited me the most was the fact that they had a salad bar, and a decent one at that! I mean you don’t see diners with salad bars to often these days! They had the usual suspects on the Early Bird menu. I ordered the Chicken Parm… which was good in its diner kind of way. Portions were large and best of all the server instinctively knew to bring the crushed red pepper. Love her! The rice pudding that came for desert was decent diner rice pudding. In all, good value, quality and service… and a salad bar. Will be going back.

For what it is-or at least when I went there-it was solid. I had been fasting, and travelling, so by the time I got to Bucks County, I had not eaten in almost 24 hours. Food was solid. Open-faced shrimp melt and open-faced tuna melt were really good. It is a diner, and it gets 4 stars for a diner. I rate things depending on what they are and what they are trying to be. I am not going there looking to be fed Michelin worthy food. But it was simple, the older lady was nice, the people were helpful. Btw I took my food to go to the hotel. The Crowne Plaza. Now the hotel, that SUCKED.

If you need a solid dinner for your family at a decent price, this is a good selection. Salad bars are not my thing, but this one was ok. The pork chops were surprisingly good. The service was fine except for the old grumpy, frumpy lady at the cash register.

Michael’s is a notch above your typical run of the mill diner. As other Unilocalers have mentioned, the salad bar really sets them apart. They have a good bit of dinner specials that are good and reasonably priced, my favorite being the chicken teriyaki. I have always found the service here to be nice and attentive. The hostess, however, is a wench. She was giving all of her servers a hard time loud enough for the whole restaurant to hear-very unprofessional!

To sum it up really quick: After looking it up on Unilocal this place was a big disappointment. Old and nasty furniture from the 80’s. The booth was slashed. Poor service. The waitress was rude. The clientele is 70+. Food was just ok. I can make better and fresher sandwiches at home but the salad bar was alright. Overall no reason to ever go back!

After spending multiple hours at the Parx casino, we needed something to eat. Something that wasn’t in the casino. Michael’s Diner was one of the few non-chains in the close area, and we took a chance. This place wasn’t fancy but it was extremely solid. If only our other bets paid off this well. Salad bar was fresh, breakfast all day. Chicken breast sandwich was real good. The ambiance isn’t anything to write home about but families and seniors were there in full force. It’s classic diner food: good, quick and easy. They had butter cookies and other pastries near the cash register, don’t miss out on the treats!
