The worst restaurant I’ve ever had. Horrible service and food! I went to lunch buffet with my mom. It was a busy lunch time, but there were 2, 3 tables. The waitresses watched me and my mother while we were eating. They kept watch us how many food we got from sushi bar and our plates after done. I spend my money but why I have to be being watched by them?

The buffet food was limited. The sushi rolls had no sushi and mostly all rice. We did come later during the buffet which was probably a mistake. Also the foods in the buffet part was very limited. We only came here because da rae won close by was closed.

Came here with friends during a lunch break while visiting the area. One of my friends who recently got a job in the area recommended it. The place is easy to find and the spread is pretty ample for a lunch buffet. It looks like Koreans eat here so it was a good sign that the food is authentic. There are tons of side dishes. Some were not as tasty and flavorful as i hoped but the selection was nice to see. Some food had no labels or instructions so unless you ate it before it could be confusing. For instance, my friends thought that the black bean sauce for the ja jang myun was a soup… The sushi was ok. Nothing too memorable but the selection was impressive. Anyways I liked the spread, food could have had more flavor for 5 stars. I would definitely return!

Ignore that one star below at your own risk. $ 12 and some change Lunch Buffet. Picked out some vegges that had an aftertaste, rice as hard as stone, chicken that didn’t taste like chicken(but everything taste like chicken. right?), the fried fish.HellToDaNawNawNaw. At first I thought, «Well maybe that just how the broccoli suppose to taste? Seasoning and sauces or whatnot…» Took a bite of the kale, same aftertaste. Being that some of the reviews on here are 3 and above, all i can say is maybe i caught them on a bad day, but IMO the sign of a good restaurant is consistency. Not going back to see if they are consistent though…

I had so many high hopes for this place. HIGH hopes — but was definitely disappointed in the lunch buffet spread. I read so many good reviews here! Don’t be fooled by the pictures… I drove out of my way to find this so called gem. When I got there for the weekend lunch buffet — most of the sushi were half picked at, and not fresh at all. They were super skimpy of the fish — a lot of fillers in the sushi unfortunately. The hot buffet bar were filled with Korean goodies, which weren’t terrible — but not great either. After we sat down with our first plate, our server placed our check on the table. Now I’m not sure if this is traditional to Korean culture, but it didn’t rub me off the right way — made me feel so rushed throughout the meal! If you’re coming here solely for the sushi — don’t bother. BUT the hot bar is not too shabby.

For the diversity and the quality of the food. It definitely worth the price. The lunch buffet is amazing! This family restaurant hosts customers well and warm. Will come back soon.

The food here is pretty good for the price that you pay. The service on the other hand is interesting. I’ve come here twice and both times the server was quite aggressive to say the least. I let it go though, but the first time I went with some friends they seemed a bit eager to have us leave since we were there for a while. We weren’t finished eating, but we did feel rushed. On some afternoons when it’s slow, you have to wait for them to set up the food since they don’t keep it out when there’s no customers. This is nice since you know the food is fresh, but is also a con if you don’t like waiting for your food like I am. I don’t really see myself coming here anymore though. The interior is nice, but the service is what really keeps me away now.

Gah Rham fell a little short of my expectations. We walked in on Monday night with stomachs grumbling, ready for some KBBQ. Sadly, nothing in the restaurant seemed prepped for service even though it was 1 hour into their dinner service. They seemed to be replacing the old tables with new tabletops. In my mind, that’s something you do before or after service starts, not during service. The dinner buffet(though I’m not a buffet fan) was nowhere to be found. Neither was the AYCEKBBQ that I saw from the Unilocal reviews and the blinking sign outside. Because of the table top construction fiasco, we had no choice but to sit in the most awkward corner of the restaurant. We ordered the bulgogi & octopus casserole(hot pot), which came with said proteins and a plethora of udon noodles, veggies, and a really good semi-spicy/sweet broth. Satisfying! The banchan and haemul pajeon(seafood pancake) were pretty ordinary. Although I had a dried radish banchan that I’ve never had before, and it was crunchily delicious! Maybe we came on an off day. The food and service ALMOST made up for what initially greeted us. I’ll certainly give them another try, hence the generous rating. But I wouldn’t drive all the way from Annapolis to eat here.

Three stars and change. Plenty of parking in the shared lot. AYCE is the biggest draw for coming here, but still not worth going out of your way for, in the way I feel about some Annandale spots. Buffet’s skimpy outside of peak hours to scale with the not-very-crowded tables, but the auntie who served us was super nice about helping us with our grill. Meat cuts were fairly marinated(I recommend the pork over the beef), decent quality, and the squid was a nice inclusion. Sad there was no short rib, but maybe sushi’s decent when they’re busy. Banchan and the other buffet items were just okay, and the soup was a nice option. The palate cleanser at the end was my favorite!

What a 180° from my previous review! In my defense, this one has to do solely with the buffet. I think this is one of the best buffets in the area. I can’t do any other buffets, ever, but I always eat a significant amount when I’m here. I love that they have fried sweet potato — the coating is just thin and crispy enough. Also, I love when they have tteokbokki. Sometimes they have jjajangmyun instead, which is still good, but their tteokbokki is THE best.(Second is Hwa Gae Jang Tuh in Rockville). Sweet, spicy, and soft/chewy, it’s so good! All of their other stuff is good, too — sometimes they have tang soo yook, bulgogi, jap chae, and they always seem to have pork, which my dad loves. I thoroughly enjoy their buffet and would love if it was in a more convenient area but I’m just thankful it’s in Maryland!

I came here on a Saturday evening with a party of 4. It wasn’t too busy but there was a good amount of customers. We opted for the buffet where we could cook our own meats. The food was good but I have gone to much better Korean barbecue restaurants. The chicken lacked flavor and I noticed the meats are not as high quality. The staff were nice but maybe too nice. I know that they meant no ill intent but they would show us how to eat the food that was in front of us by using their hands without any gloves and told us to try it but who knows where their hands have been(I waited for them to leave and put it in my napkin). They would also reach across the table to get a used plate or lower the flame. They should have better manners by at least saying, «excuse me» and not just straight reach while I’m about to put some food in my mouth. I would have given them another chance but I know much better places that are much cheaper than this restaurant with better tasting food.

We came here because our beloved Da Rae Won was closed for summer break, having unknowingly made the journey already. We ordered two versions of the naeng myun, the cold«water»(mul) version and the bibim naeng myun with the hot pepper paste sauce. I definitely wouldn’t order this ever again, but it wasn’t horrible. I tasted the soup of the mul naeng myun and it didn’t have much bite to it, but I was instructed to use the vinegar and mustard accordingly. It was adorned with radishes, cucumber, pear slices, an egg half, and two tiny slices of beef. Our ban chan was picked out from the buffet line, a bit lazy but what can you do. The barbecue seemed costly, but I won’t pass judgment on that until I actually try it if we come back.

This sushi/Korean fusion is a solid choice for your sushi fix. Buffet style sushi was average, but the sushi selection was pretty limited. While it was all you can eat, the sushi supply could not be made fast enough to meet the demands of hungry customers. They were short staffed, so this was understandae. Other foods at the buffet were also appetizing. Reasonably price for a lunch buffet.

Just finished my first lunch here. Lots of tables with shared seating. No an issue, just not what most are used to. Just a heads up. It’s quick. I ate my fill and was in and out in 30 minutes. The food was solid. When reviewing a Korean restaurant, I always include that my mother is Korean, so I have a lot of familiarity with good Korean food. The spicy pork was really good. Flavorful and tender. The bulgogi was okay. Nothing great, but not bad. The jap chae was a bit under-seasoned for me, but was fresh and had lots of veggies in it. The star was the bibim nanng myeon. The sauce was delicious. Sweet, acidic and spicy. The noodles weren’t as chewy as I like, but by far my favorite dish on the buffet. There were several other dishes that I opted not to try, but the spicy squid was popular. The sushi was okay. It moves quickly, which makes me feel confident that the fish is fresh. Nothing real spectacular but a good value at lunch time. Work brings me through Beltsville a couple of times per month, so I’ll definitely stop by again.

I came by this place for the lunch buffet. The food was amazing(even for late afternoon). The sushi and spicy pork was delicious. I would definitely give 5 stars to the food. HOWEVER, the waitress was very rude. We walked in when the restaurant was pretty empty, so we asked to be seated away from the buffet area so that our clothes wouldn’t get smoked on(we had to attend an event afterwards) but the waitress refused and forced us to sit next to the food. Only later another waiter came up and let us sit where we want. As soon as we got our first plate of food, the waiter brought the check to our table.(Is it a part of Korean culture?) Our water was not refilled at all until we had to stand up and asked. The waitress came to refill water and talk to guesses from all tables, except us, deliberately.

Lunch after taking my sister for eye surgery. Otherwise, I’m hardly ever in PG county. I have mixed feelings about the buffet. The Korean stuff is pretty decent with a whole fish, marinated beef(bulgogi), spicy pork,(deh gi bulgogi), vermicelli noodles with vegetables(chap chae), spicy soba noodles, vegetable tempura, various kimchees — cucumber, cabbage, radish. The sushi and rolls not as good. The rolls were okay(spicy tuna, shrimp tempura, salmon skin roll, California roll) but the sushi especially the tuna didn’t taste fresh. The sushi in upper Montgomery county at Ichiban and Yuraku is 100x better. On the bright side the Al Tang(Spicy fish roe stew) was quite tasty and could compete with any of the Annandale restaurants in VA. The service was mediocre. My water never got refilled. There was one waitress for the entire restaurant and this is not a small place.

This past Tuesday DH and I wanted to go out to eat for dinner. We decided to go for Korean. Since Garrett Shopping Center has 2 Korean shops, we decided to head there and decide once we get there whether to go for Gah Rham or Da Rae Won. We were listing the pros and cons for each of the restaurant like Gah Rham has awesome kimchi casserole, Da Rae Won has yummy Jiajiangmian and yummy soy garlic chicken. As we reached the place, we realized the choice has already been picked for us. Da Rae Won is closed on Tuesdays. It’s nice that the choice was picked for us. We might not have gone to Gah Rham. I’ve forgotten how good this place is. They have a Dinner Korean BBQ buffet for 23.99/ person. They bring the BBQ cooktop to the table. Since we weren’t that hungry, we decided to order ala carte. We got fried dumplings, dubu kimchi, and japchae. As food started coming, we were offered Korean appetizers, miso soup, and hot tea. We ended having way too much food.(Not a big problem, IMO). Server was friendly. They had some credit card problem so we ended up paying in cash.

Been here for both dinner and lunch. Lunch buffet is very different than the dinner experience first off. I’d probably rate the Lunch a solid 4⁄5 and the dinner a 3⁄5 if i could. Lunch includes a sushi bar with a variety of rolls and then some nigiri(fish onto of little balls of rice). I“ll start here i guess… The sushi is not the best sushi i’ve had in my whole life, BUT for the fact that there is a sushi buffet aspect to the lunch buffet, the quality is above other ‘chinese’ or american buffets that offer sushi. The rolls are good and with the variety of raw and cooked rolls, I think any sushi liker will appreciate it. You could potentially go here just for the sushi buffet and be happy i think. I make this review of sushi based on my favorite sushi buffet in maryland, Yuraku(in germantown). If yuraku is a 10⁄10(and you’ve been there), the sushi at gah rham is about 7.5÷10, comparing buffet to buffet. I mean the sushi here is better than any boxed offering from trader joes or grocery store that’s a certain. Im not korean, but the main* buffet includes a lot of korean dishes and they are all quite tasty. There isn’t a huge selection of korean bbq meat, but the bulgogi is tasty and there is korean pancake, plenty of kimchi, Naeng myun, tempura veggies, miso soup, etc etc. Please see my pictures or the pictures on this Unilocal page. For the lunch buffet, the combination of sushi and korean food are WELLWORTH13 $. For the proximity to where i live in greenbelt, this place is probably my go-to for asian buffet… not wanting to make the 50 minute trek to germantown. The dinner is a self serve(or self –get) raw meat experience to then cook at your table. From the meat selection, the meat itself seemed fine and good. The price is probably on average with non-annandale korean all you can eat places. My gripe with the dinner is that something was lacking taste wise. I asked my brother possible why this was, and we both might have come to the conclusion it’s the sauce that gah rham offers to accompany the meat. It’s not as tasty as other korea BBQ places. That’s probably the best way to describe it. The meat itself was good quality though i think and had a lot of the popular meats that you’d find at other restaurants. Honestly i’ve been here once for dinner, and probably won’t go back for dinner with the other options in the area for korean bbq(dinner scenario)

I’m up for adventure but there are some things that I just won’t eat. Fortunately, the Korean buffet at Gah Rham allowed me to stick with the sliced beef and chicken so that I could skip the intestine. Two separate lines of buffet items, so be sure to use separate plates for each. On the cooked line, dumplings and rice and noodles and some other stuff. On the to-be-cooked line, a few different types of meat, onions, garlic and things you bring back to your table to go on the BBQ grill. No sushi on the buffet in the evening. Service was good. I was assisted with my grilling until I got the hang of it. My dirty plates were picked up promptly. It was a positive experience. I don’t know if I would return though. I think once is plenty.

Gah Rham is a decent place for all you can eat in the suburbs. The place is a little bit off the beaten path as a part of a strip of shops on a side street off Route 1. I suggest you ditch the individual menu items and go with the buffet. The buffet is good but not great in my opinion. They do provide you with a variety of meat options that you are allowed to take back to your table to prepare. All the meat was definitely fresh, from the beef to pork and also the surprising squid. Meat appeared to be of a decent quality and the spices and flavors were nice. I would advise you stay away from the sushi on the buffet, most of the pieces appear to be very dry and look to have been sitting there for more than a little bit of time. The couple who appeared to running the place were very friendly, they did seem to struggle slightly with English so there might be some slight communication issues but they’ll give you what you want. All in all a decent place for the price, while I won’t rush to return I could see myself returning if I was in the area and craving a good meal at a reasonable price.
