I enjoy coming to this Safeway because it is right down the street from where I work. It is convenient, however it is a smaller Safeway so they do not offer all of the products the regular Safeway’s do. Lines can get pretty bad between 5 and 6 as well as in the morning when they do not have enough cashiers and you have to squeeze a little frog to get the workers’ attention. Also, there never seems to be a sense of urgency at the deli/prepared food. It’s not all bad though… with the exception of the morning female cashier(who is always at register 1), all employees seem to love their job and are very friendly. I will keep coming back.

Bought a tuna«sandwich» from the ready made deli. Quoted because it was about a tablespoon worth of dry catfood. Quality of the chain has taken a nose dive.

I went in this Safeway this afternoon and was pretty disappointed. It’s really, really small and has a very limited inventory. This market is smaller than a typical Trader Joe’s. One of the things I wanted was a large sushi plate and some fresh spring rolls for an evening snack. We were visiting friends in Belmont and we all had a large late lunch. The sushi plate was large, but with only a small dab of wasabi paste. I ask the Woman behind the counter for more and she said she couldn’t do that. Oh, and they didn’t have any fresh spring rolls. So I thought fine I will get a tube of wasabi over in the Asian section. The Asian section is 3 foot wide and no wasabi. This store is small as my normal size Safeway has 2 varieties of wasabi. I put the sushi back. They didn’t have the fresh spring rolls anyway. I understand there is a real Safeway in central Belmont. Just go there unless it is the most basic of items you need.
