Tried to go there today, the place is temporarily closed for construction or something… I went to Mayuri Foods and Video instead, a mile or so away, which was great. I’m sure Taj would be fine, if it were open, but I’m guessing it will be closed for at least another week (today is 9÷28÷13), so keep that in mind or call before you go :)

Being the first Indian market I’ve visited, I don’t have much to compare this with, but the place is clean and bright and offers a nice selection of foods that may show up in one format in the mainstream grocery stores. For example, you can buy seven or eight different kinds of lentils in half a dozen prepacked formats, or by the pound.
Lots of foods, spices and spice mixes that don’t show up at Albersons, Safeway, etc. The produce looked pretty good in general, but the okra looked a little sketchy.
I bought a couple of Indian MRE’s for lunches. Should be interesting!
