I LOVE breakfast food! This is such a fancy little breakfast place and walking distance away from my home. I came here on a breakfast date with one of my best friends and we loved it! It’s perfect for a girls date for cute and yummy food hehe. I only wish their hours were longer as they are only open in the mornings. But either way, I will be back!

After reading positive reviews about great food and friendly service, we looked forward to trying Eques since we live so close to the Hyatt. We were bitterly disappointed, and here’s why: 1) Dishonest service. When we sat down at our table, our waiter immediately came over to offer coffee and orange juice. Unsure what to expect, we allowed him to serve the drinks. Only after serving us did he explain that the juice ALONE would cost $ 4 if we ordered from the menu, but would be included in the $ 20 buffet. We hadn’t decided whether to order a single item from the menu or try the buffet yet, but felt obligated to buy the buffet after being told that we would be charged so much for the juice without the buffet. We felt«cheated» into the buffet, but after reading reviews about the delicious stuffed french toast, etc., that could be found in the buffet, we shrugged our shoulders and went to check it out. 2) Poor service, bad attitude from kitchen staff. There is an open kitchen area in the center of the restaurant that appeared to make omelettes and waffles. This was our first time at Eques, so we asked a man behind the counter if we could place orders for omelettes there. He very rudely pointed to the front entrance of the restaurant indicating that we had no reason to speak to him because the omelette station for the buffet was at the front of the restaurant. No reason to react so rudely to some new customers just trying to figure out the lay of the land. 3) Cold, cafeteria-style food NOT worth the $ 20 price tag. Once we located everything offered in the buffet, we were EXTREMELY disappointed not only in the offerings, but in the taste and freshness. Instead of stuffed french toast and exotic crab cakes(advertised in an article posted in the restaurant window), we were offered dime-sized pancakes, grocery store pastries, a greasy potato dish, scrambled eggs, and several types of sausage. It tasted like a very mediocre hotel buffet breakfast. VERY underwhelming. When we sat down to eat, the pancakes were cold and flavorless. Very far from the ideals advertised in the window. Of course, the stuffed french toast could have been a menu item, but because I didn’t care to spend $ 4 on Sunny D OJ(NOT fresh squeezed as you might imagine for the price tag), I wouldn’t know because I chose the buffet. 4) A mistake in our omelette order. In addition to our cold dime-sized pancakes and mediocre potato dish, we ordered an omelette. This was the only part of the meal that was satisfactory, although nothing exceptional. The ingredients were comparable to those of any cafeteria. Although the omelettes were made to order, one of the ingredients requested was missing. Not acceptable for a $ 20 meal. 5) Hovering waiter. The same waiter who served us drinks before informing us of the outrageous price difference hovered over us during our entire meal. This was in part to refill our drinks and bus our plates when we finished eating, but he hovered by us the whole time and then gave us our bill before we asked for it. We were still drinking coffee and attempting to enjoy our morning after the disappointing food! Some restaurants do this, I understand, but after giving us the bill he stepped back and waited close by as if he were waiting for us to pay him! Whether this was intentional or not, it made us feel uncomfortable. We couldn’t relax and enjoy talking on a Sunday morning because we were made to feel like«it was time to pay.» Very frustrating. INSUMMARY, we had high expectations for Eques but were sorely underwhelmed by the quality of food, and frankly felt cheated by our waiter. Going out to eat is a special treat and thus why it’s frustrating to leave unsatisfied. The food seemed little more than standard cafeteria quality, and the staff seemed unengaged and uninterested in providing a pleasant dining experience. I do NOT recommend Eques for these reasons and will certainly not return in the future.

My friend and I were here looking for place to eat with great food before a conference in this hotel, and we stumbled upon this place. We were so glad we did! You have an option to order off the menu or get the buffet, so of course we chose the buffet. Honestly, unless you’re not planning on eating, I would plan on getting the buffet. Make sure to come hungry! Omelettes: The omlette bar comes fully staffed, and you can fill out a card with your favorite options on what you want. I always get the egg white omlette with all the vegetables and Swiss cheese and it’s amazing. They make it right in front of you and deliver it to your table right away. Waffles: They also have amazing waffles. I would advise asking them what flavor options they have. I’ve tried the apple-caramel waffles and the banana-peanut butter waffles, and both are great choices. The staff goes heavy on the toppings, and the waffles are soft and fluffy, and these 2 qualities make for one of the best waffles I’ve ever had. Breakfast Stations: They have the classic continental breakfast options, like pastries, danishes, etc. They have great fruit selections and even a «build your own» yogurt parfait area. Also, they usually have nice flavored pancakes like«cinnamon latte» or «tiramisu». Standard hotel sides like eggs/potatoes/etc are also provided as well.

I really loved this buffet. It’s quite extensive though not do huge that you stuff yourself crazy. We are party of 5, all ages. All the adults are super happy with buffet — lightly smoked salmon, fabulous salami, cheeses, gluten free granola, fabulous Greek yogurt. My two teenagers, who are always the most difficult to please were less enthused. One had eggs Benedicts, liked it, one didn’t care for his pancake and sausage but liked the waffle, hence 4 stars. In my book combining with reasonable $ 20 price, it’s a 5 star.

The $ 19.95 American Buffet is hands down the best brunch value I’ve experienced in the greater Seattle area. The selection is fantastic, and the quality is excellent. Their smoked lox, prime rib polenta, and Greek yogurt stood out in particular. The people in my party also raved about the waffles & steel-cut oatmeal. Service was stellar too. It’s everything you want in a good breakfast place!

I had the pleasure of meeting Nhan our server here. The food is obviously amazing so I won’t comment much on here but this is the first time I was more eager to write a review on the service here than the actual food. She was friendly, and even though was short staffed, she was working hard to make sure we were being taken care of. She was actually sweating and still had a smile on her face. If you come here, eat the food and you’ll be happy but if you want to be happier ask to be placed in Nhan’s section.

This is the best brunch ever! They have everything, fresh open view omelette bar, waffle bar, fresh squeezed juice, excellent ambience, the football game always playing. We actually figured out a new budget after our visit to decide if we could afford to eat here every day, the answer is yes! Lol =)

My first time here was great. I opted for the buffet because it’s buffet and I love food. Loved the special made waffle, I got the caramel apple and I wish I could have taken one home. I thought that the buffet itself would have been a bit bigger but instead of a large volume of food they make up for the quality of the food being presented. They had big bowls of berries, yogurt, fruit, mini pancakes including a coconut one, 3 different types of sausages as well as regular scrambles eggs. The cheese wedge and salmon was very good too. I didn’t fill up on bread or bagels but did try a bran muffin(thought it was chocolate). Good strong coffee balanced all the sweetness of my waffle and pancakes. I would definitely recommend this place for breakfast/brunch.

I was looking for a place on the east side to meet some friends for a nice Sunday buffet brunch. You’d think that a restaurant in a Hyatt Regency would have a nice brunch, and if you check their website they claim they do. Well – they do not, and I sure as heck can’t imagine where all the great reviews come from here at Unilocal.I think either these folks have awfully low standards or they all work at Eques! What a phenomenal disappointment this place was! I’ve never been to a buffet brunch that was so poorly done. Even the omelet station was awful. They apparently don’t have enough room for two people cooking there, so they take your order, give you a number, and sometime later they deliver a cold, rubbery thing, on a cold plate, to your table. Ugh. And the dessert table was a joke: a couple of different small muffins, as I recall. Yup, no fancy pastry. Only two things were good about this place: service and price. Our waitress was great, and brunch was only $ 20. Oh, one other thing: the mimosas were really good. Parking is easy and free, in the hotel garage.

Had a wonderful time with the mother here. Judge me, but I’ve never enjoyed continental breakfast. this place is not typical. Very fresh and local ingredients, not greasy, and just the right amount of quality variety.(Eg: lox, quality salami, beechers cheese, fluffy waffles& scrambles, omelettes made to order, etc) Service is maybe the best I’ve experienced in a long while(maybe it’s bc it’s part of a hotel?) so I was happy to tip well although the coffee was no Bueno. Yeah, the coffee is the worst thing here. Otherwise, surprise your madre or beloved(s) and cure that hangover while you’re at it!

Best breakfast place that I’ve patronized on the eastside! Parking is abundant if you choose to park in their FREE underground garage. Then you take the elevators up to the Hyatt Hotel. Inside this gorgeous hotel is Eques. Their menu selection is creative and reasonably priced(which surprised us given the location). We ordered a breakfast that had two eggs, potatoes, toast, and a choice of meat. Unreal because it only cost $ 14.99 for all that! The food was very delicious. Service was out-of-this-world superb! Very attentive, conscientious staff, and very efficient. Kudos to the manager and all the waiters and waitresses of this place!

Great unknown-to-me brunch spot. For $ 20 we got specially made waffles(I highly suggest the chocolate) and an American breakfast buffet. There was a 20 minute wait but so worth it because the food is really great! Park under Hyatt and take the elevator up to level 2.

They have a mimosa station. Like what more do I need to say?!? I love this place. I accidentally discovered it one morning with friends and we decided to have breakfast/brunch here. When our pancakes and waffles and food came… Oh my. I felt like I was eating an art masterpiece. The dishes are beautiful, perfectly handcrafted. The glaciers combine perfectly. Ah I’m getting hungry just thinking about this place! This is a regular of ours, I highly recommend trying it out because you will not be disappointed!!!

Usually we like to enjoy their Sunday brunch buffet. There are 2 options of buffet: American $ 19.95 and Continental $ 15.95 Coffee and OJ are included. The fruit smoothies are not included with the buffet, but those are really good($ 7 each) Their omelette bar is a highlight for sure. I like to order a one-egg omelet to be able to enjoy the rest of the buffet. They used to have feta cranberry sausage, but we haven’t seen them recently. Great service and neat ambience.

I came here with a group of friends. I was looking for brunch places, and hello! All you can eat buffet. They have two choices-the Continental($ 15.95 plus tax) or the American($ 19.95 plus tax) buffets. You can also order off of the a la carte menu. The Continental buffet is limited and it’s a way better deal to get the American buffet for just a couple dollars more. There was a wide selection of items for the American buffet-mini pancakes, scrambled eggs, a variety of sausages, bacon, potatoes, fresh fruits, muffins/baked goods, made to order omelette and many more. The buffet station is in the middle of the room. There’s also a waiter/waitress that will come by to help you place a la carte or omelette or drink orders. They give complimentary OJ and coffee with your meal. I was completely stuffed after eating here. I am definitely coming back here soon!

We came here for Valentine’s Day breakfast because we had to try the German Chocolate Pancakes. Which were amazingly decadent. The Nutella Stuffed French Toast was also enjoyed. It tasted more like funnel cake, or a doughnut, but we were not complaining! We did not try the buffet because the German Chocolate Pancakes were not available on the buffet. The service was also very friendly and quick.

Buffet brunches are sooooo dangerous. But I love them(even though I’m one of the most useless people to eat brunch with because I can barely eat 2 plates). I didn’t get an item off the menu; I went straight to the buffet. Some high(and low) lights: –They have lavender pancakes. I was hesitant but it tasted like a spa in my mouth(literally what I said when I took a bite). Unique but pretty delicious. –They have waffles made to order. I had the chocolate orange waffles and they tasted incredibly powdery. We did not enjoy that. The apple caramel waffles were amazing though. Not too sweet, and the flavor took me back to the holidays. –Omelette station. Nom. –Crispy bacon. FAVORITE. –They have really good sausage. I think it was an apple sausage? Whatever it was, it was juicy(yes, that’s what she said) –Love the layout of the restaurant. It’s spacious with the buffet right in the middle. There are televisions and more comfortable seats in the corners of the room which worked well for people doing business. –LOUD. But not in a bad way; more in a festive, fun, everyone’s-having-a-great-meal way. –Great service. We loved our waitress who came over every 10 minutes. I wish: –They had more variety of dessert/pastries. –They had more variety of waffles and kept it consistent. I asked for strawberry waffles and they said they didn’t have it anymore(I saw it on an old menu). The waitress said they switch this menu every now and then. Last but not least, parking is easy; free parking underground. Major plus.

This place is really good. Located on the second floor of the Hyatt it has a great view of you can sit next to the windows. I came here with my pops for breakfast. I ordered the Belgian Waffles. So, so, good. The best waffle I have ever had. My pops ordered the German Chocolate pancakes. I tried some of the his pancakes. They were really good but they were really, really, rich and I just had some waffles so be prepared for that. The staff was also really attentive and really nice. Nothing but pleasant things about this place.
