I used to grab breakfast sandos here and the occasional lunch but I got tired of the bland, seldom changing menu. The breakfast sandwiches come with microwaved eggs and the breakfast burritos are pre-made so you can’t get one without a mess of potatoes in them. Despite being exceedingly friendly, they are utterly inflexible. When asked if they would consider purchasing a panini maker or finding and offering a new item them simply smile and ultimately do nothing. It’s a cafeteria with friendly staff. Take it for what it is. I haven’t been there in months.

First time here. Not too bad. Food was pretty good. Was hoping for more of a selection though.

This is a good lunch place for me when I’m at work. The ladies that work here always greet me with a friendly hello as soon as my big toe hits the doorway. The sandwiches are ok but the salads and chicken noodle soup are good. They have a variety of snacks and drinks and this place is actually pretty busy during the lunch rush. It’s your run-of-the-mill deli type atmosphere but really the employees make it worth the trip. Don’t get the clam chowder, something is just off about it.

I’ll give this place 2 and half stars if I can… First of the positives: Their services is really really nice. They try hard to learn your name and always says morning, thank you, and good bye. They’re in the building where I work at. They take credit cards on sales over $ 5 And the breakfast sandwiches are decent and comes with a small soda or coffee for $ 3 But it’s really the food that matters in the end: They only make cold sandwiches and have a rotating menu every day. They don’t really have a kitchen, so don’t expect anything grilled or anything Their food is fairly bland most of the time, and for the price there are clearly better options around. Bottom line, only go when pinched for time and don’t expect anything more than standard cafeteria food.

Calling this is a café is a bit generous, though they do offer hot food for breakfast and lunch, mostly your bagel– and sandwich-type things. They do have bacon and eggs, and soup, so I suppose it’s the ambiance I’m struggling with. Way more carry out than sit-down-and-relax despite having about 15 tables, it’s clearly intended for the busy office workers in the Plaza Center building(this café is on the first floor of the building, right by the elevator bank). Sandwiches tend to be thinnish, more like what you’d make yourself at home than a fancy deli production… and their breads are Franz standards, which means if you’re allergic to soy flour, you’re SOL, because they all have some. Big bummer. :-( They have daily hot entrees; here’s some of the choices for February: spicy or regular chicken teriyaki with steamed rice and stirred cabbage; baked cheese ravioli with caesar salad and garlic bread; macaroni & double cheese w/caesar salad and garlic bread; chicken burrito with lemon pepper rice, black beans, sour cream, cheese and salsa; taco salad; spaghetti & meatballs with caesar and garlic bread; broccoli and cheddar or bacon, tomato & cheese quiche with caesar salad; french dip(roast beef w/swiss cheese & au jus)… you get the idea. They print a monthly menu that reminds me of the school cafeteria so you can know when your favorite will be served. They have the usual assortment of newspapers, potato chips, candy and the like for sale into the afternoon hours, great for those after-lunch munchies, especially if the weather is crappy and you don’t want to bundle up or get wet. The people in my office seem about evenly split into three camps(well, four, if you count the two or three that don’t imbibe…) those that like the coffee drinks from Day Break, the Starbucks loyalists, and those that are perfectly happy with the free trade-free range-organic whatever-it-is that they brew in our kitchen at work. Still, it’s worth noting that the people who do like Day Break the best are fiercely loyal, going all the way downstairs for it every morning, so it must be at least OK.
