Asian Food Center Herbs & Groceries

Asian Food Center Herbs & Groceries is an offshoot of the Asian Food Center supermarket across the parking lot from this store. Basically this shop sells additional Chinese and Asian items that the supermarket has no room for.
As the herbs part of the name indicates, the store sells a lot of Chinese medicinal products that you previously had to go to the International District to find. The prices are in line with the Chinese medicine stores in the I-​D. I have found some things to be cheaper and others more expensive compared to Pacific Herb & Grocery in Seattle where I usually go. Though I could not find one staple of mine, Ho Yan Hor herbal tea here so I will have to continue to buy it in the I-​D.
In addition to Chinese medicines, the rest of the store houses a large home décor and housewares selection. There is a row of Asian hair products which I think are primarily Japanese brands since they resemble the ones that I saw in Japan recently. And also a selection of Chinese tea products here that are worth trying. I usually keep a supply of a package of instant chrysanthemum tea at home when I am not feeling great.
If you live on the Eastside and need to pick up Chinese health products or Asian kitchen supplies, I would check here to see if they have what you are looking for first. It might save you a trip across the bridge to Seattle.

This is my second visit to this store, but a horrible experience. I went there to do exchange and got refused, because it exceeded 14 days which was their policy required. It was my fault that I did not check the policy before I went. I think it should be 30 or 60 days, just like most of other stores. What I am complaining is not their policy but what happened next. After I told the cashier I won’t do exchange today and put the stuff back into my bag, the guy asked me with unfriendly tone if the paper bag in my hand was my own, not from their store. I was really shocked at his rudeness. Why would people go to this store, spend money and get offended by store employees??? I will NEVER shop at Asian Food Center Herbs & Groceries again.
