Although both of the times we ate here were a couple years ago we had subpar food and bad service from the staff and we’re not seated in a timely manner. Didn’t have Unilocal back then but still haven’t forgot. Would recommend going to the Baypines Cody’s or the new Texas Roadhouse. Have never had a bad experience at either of those locations.

Not usually a fan of chain restaurants, but was pleasantly surprised that the food was pretty good! I felt like the tables were much too close together and this added to how unbelievably loud it was in there. The usual suspects on the menu, and my husband’s garlic shrimp was pretty greasy, but beer battered fish was light and crispy. Quite tasty! Good service considering how busy it was. I’d totally go back!

I understand that it’s busy on Wednesday because of fajitas however, this costs experience was the worst I’ve ever had and I’ve been frequenting codys for 15years. A hostess ran into the back of me holding menus and poking me in the back with them, followed by a bidder who also ran into me and this guy didn’t even apologize, his arm is in a sling so someone needs to tell him how to properly interact with customers if he is going to run into people. I ordered my ribeye medium rare and it was clearly over cooked to like medium, with a barely pink center. We also ordered a 9oz filet med rare with coconut shrimp. The filet was slightly over done(not as bad as my ribeye) but came or with a shrimp skewer. Beth, the server was very polite and gracious… took my ribeye back and told me she was going to take it to he manager who I assumed with and visit our table like every other Cody’s manager does… However, I guess Neil was too busy because I didn’t get a visit from the manager and I still got a full $ 60+ bill and another steak but still was not medium rare. Overall is was too hungry and frustrated to deal with the pitiful food, so I ate a few bites and left. The codys in Tampa on hillsborough should be the model for this pinellas codys which clearly isn’t up to par. Anytime I’ve had a problem in Tampa, the manager visits the table and takes care of me… not so much in bellair. You guys shouldn’t be more concerned with people ordering bogo fajitas than the rest of the customers in the restaurant. The pseudo response I got to this email was also less than satisfying. Totally disposable!

I’m updating my review as of January 17, 2016 and several visits. Why do I go? Because it is a favorite of one of my friends. I would never choose to go there on my own. This is a place where the«concept» rules over quality of food or professionalism of staff. And the prices are sky high for what you get. Do I really care to get endless peanuts?(No!). Am I impressed with the endless salad tossed in a large metal bowl?(No! A dreary and creamy drenched medley of iceberg lettuce and a few vegetables chopped up so minutely as to be unidentifiable).) Those store bought squishy rolls?(No!). This time I went for the least expensive steak on the menu(my friend was treating), an alleged 8 oz. sirloin that looked more like 6 if you’re an optimist. Specified medium rare and got medium/medium well. The young waiter never bothered to come by and ask me if it was cooked properly. Meanwhile my buddy opted for a 1 lb. serving of prime rib, also asking for medium rare. His came essentially raw. There wasn’t a brown spot on it anywhere! I couldn’t even watch him eat it. My sweet potato fries came waffled, with no mention they would. Friends: For $ 2 more you can get a far superior steak and experience at Carrabbas(no, I have no association with this establishment other than as a happy repeat customer). Staff are a bunch of high schoolers with anything on their minds other than serving quality food and taking care of you.

We eat here at least once a week, sit at the bar, great service. Beer and drinks very reasonable, usually two for one. Peanuts are free, they have a very good bar menu, large order of shrimp about $ 5, bar burger very good about $ 2. Wednesday two for one fajitas, steak shrimp or chicken for about $ 12, can’t beat that deal. Also great deals on the early bird menu, prime rib with sides, rolls, salad for about $ 13. This is the place the locals go.

Love this place for a normal relaxed meal with the family. We have always had a nice wait staff and the food is consistent. Drinks are pretty good. Specials are great. We come here maybe once a month since it opened a long time ago. They have call ahead seating here and that is really nice when you have a large group. Kids eat free on Monday and Tuesday and it is two for one fajitas on Wednesday… Just an FYI.

Ambience was borderline, liked the peanuts on the floor and Route 66 motif but otherwise not overly clean. Service was good, not great — just good. The yeast rolls with cinnamon butter were great. The house salad with garlic dressing was also good, although swimming in dressing. I had a T-bone steak special which was tender, juicy, and flavorful — remarkably good given the low price. My wife’s fish though was dry, tough, and tasteless. We both got cold sides. One star for food, and 2 stars for very reasonable prices.

I like codes don’t get me wrong but I called to make a pickup order and was told«let me put you on hold someone will take your order soon». 6 minutes past and I said screw it they must be busy. Called back 30 min later«please hold Justin will take your order» another 5 minutes passes. Called 10 minutes later again same thing. I understand you are busy but if you offer pickup its uncalled for to leave someone on hold and never come to the phone. Won’t be going here for atleast a few months.

This is the second visit to this location in 6 months. If you are alone and want to get the Cody’s experience, DON’T SITATTHEBAR. I’m at the bar for the 2nd time because I don’t want to take up a spot for 4 people just for me. The bartender got me a beer within the 1st minute of me sitting down. That’s where the service ends. Once again I was never asked if I wanted a menu, not to mention the peanuts. I got my beer, and he was done with me. I don’t expect to come to a restaurant and ask for every little thing. This is twice now that I have experienced the same thing here. If for some reason if I ever find myself coming back here, I’ll be the guy all alone taking up a table for 4(we’ll see how the server service is).

First time there for lunch today. The table and seats were dirty and sticky. Sat by the window and you can just see the filth. Food splatter all over the place, thick dust, broken blinds, dirty condiments, I was afraid to touch anything. Order lunch special a taco salad, can you at least drain the black beans before you put in the salad. Black bean juice soaked the taco bowl and turned the lettuce black and the chicken was very scarce. iced tea tasted very old as well. My husband had bad lettuce on his burger. We will never go there again. Now I know why I’ve lived in the area for 8 years and never went there. Just all around bad.

— THISREVIEWAPPLIESTOALLESTABLISHMENTSINTHETAMPABAYCHAIN — AVOIDTHEBARMENUFOOD !! THEBARAREA… We arrived on a crowded evening, 45 min wait, so we ate at the Bar. After receiving Menu’, the Bartender suggested the Stand-Up bar menu items. They appeared to be mostly appetizers. We order three(3) items from that menu. What we received was three items that were overcooked, over-breaded, deep fried and somewhat taste-less. Normally, I would have sent it back and ordered a regular meal, but we were hungry NOW, not tomorrow. The regular meals at the tables looked rather good. THERESTAURANTAREA… Excellent! We had the ribs and steak cubes. Well done. Great service. BOTTOMLINE: Avoid the place when it;s busy and all bar food. We’ll be back.

I live right around the corner from this place. However I do not eat here! I ate here once and was really unsatisfied with the place. The service is not good. I got the buffalo chicken sandwich and it just tasted like a fried grease bomb. The fries were cold. The tables and décor of the place is not inviting. I used the restroom after the meal and there were two roaches on the floor, one was dead and the other was dieing flipped upside down wiggling around! Do not eat here!

Stopped into Cody’s on a Sunday afternoon for lunch with the family and we were seated right away. Our server came right over and took our drink order. Perusing the menu we liked the variety of offerings including burgers, chicken, steaks, ribs, salads and just about anything fried. There are peanuts on every table and in the lobby to munch on and of course you throw the shells on the floor. Skipping an appetizer we went straight to ordering lunch. Chicken and ribs for the hubs, grilled cheese for the little one and a regular old cheeseburger for me, cooked medium, with a side of sweet potato fries. The waiter brought us a basket of rolls with cinnamon butter which were delicious — warm round yeast rolls — talk about carb loading. The hubs got a salad with his dinner which the waiter mixed in a big bowl at the table. I stole a bite and the dressing was tasty, a variation on something like a creamy Italian dressing. Our lunches arrived shortly after and the portions were large. My little ones grilled cheese was lightly grilled but it was a bit heavy on the butter consisting of what appeared to be two Texas toast slices with American Cheese. My cheeseburger was more well done than medium(no pink inside) and it came with lettuce, tomato and onions. The hamburger patty was seasoned nicely otherwise and tasty paired with cheddar cheese. The sweet potato fries were seasoned with salt and were the standard fry, nothing too amazing there. The hubs didn’t say a word through the meal which usually means he is pleased with his entrée. Afterwards he commented that the ribs were good but the chicken really made the meal. This restaurant offers kids meals free Monday and Tuesday nights(with a paying adult) and two for one fajitas on Wednesday. The service was friendly and fast and they seem to have nice sized portions for the price. Good value, good service, good food, we will be back.

I’ve seen Cody’s before, but I never stepped foot in one until today. Eclectic decorations, Route 66 memorabilia on the walls, and peanut shells on the floor. I imagine they get their fair share of business on Mondays and Tuesdays as kids eat free, Wednesdays they have two for one fajitas. However, we went in on Sunday afternoon, and there were only a few other diners. I ordered the half rack of ribs and half chicken combination platter. They brought out a salad which the server mixed at the table, and some rolls with cinnamon butter, both of which were ok. My ribs were tender, but average. I dont normally order chicken when I go out, but I was pleasantly surprised with theirs. It was moist and seasoned well. This place is a-ok in my book.

The service was excellent and our waiter was very friendly. The food very good and portion sizes are on the large side. The salads are huge to the point were they are 2 meals easily. This place serves their garlic ranch dressing with just about everything. It’s pretty good.

To me, Cody’s is like a suped up version of a Texas Roadhouse(if you’re from LI you’ll know what I’m talking about.) But it is adorned with decorations like a Friday’s or Applebees. When you first walk in you’ll be blinded by all the tacky/gaudy knick knacks. They’re pretty cool to look at though. If you’re waiting for a table they actually give you playing cards and announce your number and suit.(I thought that was pretty unique.) Cody’s has big leather booths and supersized tables to meet any party’s needs. They also shell out(pun intended) free peanuts for guests while waiting. Woo hoo! They are famous for their sweet rolls and cinnamon butter spread as well as their bottomless salads. I have to say, both are really great. The rolls are warmy and fluffy and the salad is packed full of crisp and fresh ingredients(not just iceberg lettuce folks!). I ordered the 8 oz. sirloin medium with a baked sweet potato. It was excellent. Meat was very tender and spiced just enough. And guess how much it cost… $ 9.99! Talk about a deal. Also I feel like I should note that up until 7pm it’s Happy Hour. BOGO drinks of all sorts. Beer, wine, mixed drinks. You name it.
