In an effot to support the small local business, my companion and I decided to stop in here to pick up provisions for a party we were heading to. Within seconds, it was apparent that this tiny package store in Bedford is priced to keep riffraff like us out. The 1.75L of Ketel One we had intended to get was about $ 48, something I can normally pick up at Kappy’s for $ 36 or so. I understand the smaller stores are generally more expensive than large stores like Kappy’s, but damn! That’s quite a markup. Suffering from extreme sticker shock, we fled to the next closest packie in town. I may stop in at Fitzy’s again to pick up wine, but if it’s hard liquor I’m after, I’ll skip this place.
