Portland Laptop Repair

I don’t know how it happened, but by random Google search I found the cheapest, fastest, most honest & reliable laptop repair in all of Portland.
Other places nearby quoted me $ 250 and 1 week for a simple charger-​port replacement. Jim did it in less than 2 hours for about 100 bucks.
This man knows his stuff. He’s a resource for anybody who’s inclined to circumvent the hidden markups & caveats of the retail world & just old-​school FIX what you already have. And he shoots straight, so he’ll reliably tell you if repair is worth your investment or not. He will NOT upsell you or charge you for anything you don’t need.
I was so relieved to be in such good hands that I immediately saved his phone # in my cell; Jim is gonna be my go-​to from this day forward.

Jack, the owner of Portland Laptop Repair, is so intelligent and genuine. He explains things, and in no way is just looking for your money. Which, to me, is the best quality in customer service.
He had fixed my cracked laptop screen in 2014. I have another issue and I just thought to call him. His honest way of speaking, made me feel like he was worth a review! I was asking him questions about my laptop fans. He helped me figure out my model number, explained the 2 possible scenario outcomes and the exact prices associated to fix each, Awesome!

I have used Portland Lap Top repair for a couple of my computer issues. And will continue to use him. He did a good job fixing my issues and even stayed open a little later for me to come in and get my computer after work. (On his anniversary) He can be a little rough around the edges, but I am not sure that I have ever met anyone that was a good tech guy who was also an amazing people person. If you want a good service at a good price this is a good place to go.

dropped by too see if my laptop was worth repairing. He took a look at it and said that the controler was not working properly. It was trying to access the hard drive. He showed me a post card from Navia, the controller company, that there were known problems with the controler. Of course that was many years ago.
Before we started I asked if there was a fee to take a look at it. He said no.
The cost to repair was way more than it would be worth if running.
Will return if I need some computer help in the future.
Note: the store is on the second floor. I’m sure the Hispanic lady downstairs isn’t too happy referring customers upstairs.

Faced with a laptop that crashed and would not turn on, I called these folks in a panic, expecting, at the very least, that I was facing days without my computer. Not only did Jim start work on the machine immediately, explain exactly what the necessary repairs involved, but he had they thing up and running in a few short hours… and a very reasonable price. THANK YOU for the excellent service and trust that you have now earned my future business.

What a jerk. Took our laptop in to have a new hard drive installed and windows re-​loaded in. When we got it home the computer would not even boot up. My business partner was the one who took the computer in, but I had to call since he was working and we needed the computer that night. I called the guy, politely but obviously frustrated about the situation. I found him to be defensive and rude. His first response was, «Well, we’re closed. We are only open 10 – 12 on Saturdays». Nice customer service. My business partner has been going to him for several years but has been questioning his service and attitude for the last couple. He kept going because in the beginning he said he got excellent service and prices. I guess that’s changed. Will not be going back and am upset about the money I’m sure I’ll never get back for a computer that won’t boot up. We are unsure about whether or not he even turned the computer on again after installing the hard drive. Do not go here.

This place kind of looks sketchy, but the guy fixed my power problem on my lap top in one day for a fraction of what Best Buy’s geek squad would do it for. I went into Best Buy and they said they would have to send it away and diagnose the problem and to fix it would be over $ 300 bucks and I would have to wait more than two weeks. The guy at Portland Laptop knew the problem instantly, charged a $ 100 bucks and had it back to me the next day. Try this place first.
