Some of the best pizza in the Portland Oregon area. Far superior to all the artsy fartsy«pizza» places they prop up as good.

$ 34.00 for a large pizza? And they put canned mushrooms on it, yuk. Never again!

We visited Papa’s Pizza Parlor on 2÷21÷16 I loved that my kids were able to play indoors while mom & dad sat closely, enjoying some quiet time. My boys are 4&8 they both loved the play area & asked to go again. During my visit I ordered a plate for the salad bar & man was I disappointed. I am not a picky person & my disappoint did not come from the selection of salad bar. But from the lack cleanliness & up keep towards it. There was ranch all over, tomatos on the floor & all over the salad bar area. The salad it self was turning brown, the ranch was warm. The carrots were soggy. Being that I’m 19 weeks pregnant & have morning sickness all day. I couldn’t enjoy the pizza so I needed to eat something light but chose not to because how bad everything looked. My husband said the pizza was good, but did add the prices were a Lil too much. The salad Plate was $ 6 itself & was not refillable. I was happy my boys had fun but will definitely not be going there again.

I think this place is getting a bad wrap. It’s a family style pizza place that is geared towards kids fun. The pizza is pretty good, salad bar is decent. The kids play area is good lots of things to climb on, a little Ferris wheel(open after 5) and a ball pit. We were here at 5:30pm mid week & there were hardly any other people. I’m not sure I would come here if I didn’t have my kids but if you want a family orientated place to let your kids run around while you enjoy a slice or three & a cold beer then this is the place. If your looking for gourmet pizza to write home about DONTCOMEHERE& then write a review about how disappointed you are.

The pizza at Papa’s is absolutely the worst I’ve ever had, and consistently so. I’ve dined here maybe half a dozen times over the last four years; most recently so tonight. My young son motivates me to continue to be disappointed by this restaurant. Tonight, our large, square pepperoni pizza with extra cheese took well over 40 minutes to prepare — even though there were no customers in line either before or after us. The place was basically empty aside from maybe 1 other family. The cheese is a sad, bland blend of what is almost certainly processed«cheese food». There are exactly 2 thin pepperonis on each slice. The pizza sauce is watered down and lacks any noticeable spice or flavor. The crust is neither hard nor chewy… it reminds me of the type of crust you get when you use a box of Jiffy Mix at home. To add insult to injury the menu is also priced higher than average. For less money you can get a bigger, delicious Schmizza. The other gripe I have about Papas is their childrens play area. Tonight it smelled like a mix of old socks and my grandparent’s basement. The structures are visibly aged and heavily abused. I’m not comfortable with the safety of the environment. I am 33 years old and have been using Unilocal for at least 5 years. This is only the 2nd review I’ve ever written and comes from a place of sincere dissatisfaction. I feel ripped off and swindled by Papas Pizza. I strongly advise you to spend your money elsewhere as there are way better options(Chuck E Cheese, Out Of This World and Schmizza to name a few).

We tried the taco upon moving here and it was the worst pizza we’ve ever had. Decided to give them another chance as they’re really close to our place and tried a different pizza and it was equally as bad and really pricey.

Grew up in Eugene eating Papa’s at least once a month as a kid. Now that I’m a grown up, I was delighted to see there was a location near my new house in Beaverton. I was ready to frequent Papa’s until I saw the prices. Ugh! I really love the pizza, but there is no way I can justify paying $ 30 plus for a large combo. It’s too bad they don’t realize lowering prices would bring in more business, like mine. I tried the lunch buffet, but it wasn’t the same and they kept putting out weird pizzas. Plus, the place smells like a locker room from the kid’s play area. Papa’s if you lower your prices, I’ll order delivery at least once a month!!!

Read carefully: After reading some of the other reviews i feel the need to be clear about my experience and how it differs from the other reviews. 1) I have never ordered for delivery or pickup. I can’t comment on that. 2) I do agree with the people that complain about the kids play area having a strong smell. I have not been in there in a while(I have no kids) but I have been in there in the last couple years and i do understand what people are talking about when they talk about the smell. Its kind of like a strong rubber/plastic mixed with sweaty kids. 3) I agree that the prices are quite a bit higher than anywhere else. I have asked about this and was told that since they do not charge for the kids area they have to charge more for the items they do charge for to make up for it. Understandable but since i have no kids i get no «benefit» from the play area yet have to pay more for my food. I would definitely spend more time and meals here if the prices were more reasonable. They do seem to be very tight on their pricing. They used to have a mini pizza with salad bar combo for less than $ 7 i think. They got rid of that deal and now its close to $ 10. The size of the salad bar plates has shrunk. 4) The Food: I really enjoy the salad bar and the pizza. The salad mix is usually very good and since i only add a couple other items to it I am not one of those complaining about the lack of salad bar topping options. If you ask me they could remove half the items and be just fine. The pizza crust reminds me of a pizzeria from when i was a kid. I love the thin crisp cracker style crust as well as the thicker paste style sauce. The one thing that i don’t like is the canned mushrooms. Regular fresh mushrooms would be fine. I just don’t like rubbery canned mushrooms. I pick them off if they are on a pizza buffet item. Here is where i explain why i gave them 4 stars out of 5 even after items 1 – 3. I have rarely had a bad experience in all my visits to Papa’s. I have joined their text msg club and get alerts when they are running specials. The lunch buffet for $ 5.95(usually once a week via text msg) is a great deal. You get unlimited Pizza, Salad Bar and a soda. They also often send out a text msg advertising a Thursday night buffet for $ 5.95. So if you like their food but not their prices i suggest you sign up for their text msg alerts and keep an eye out for their specials. The staff and managers are nice and friendly.

Papa’s Pizza Parlor is wonderful and fantastic because its manager, Rick and its staff, Sarah, and Kayla. I lost my purse on the bus yesterday evening after I went to PDX to pick up my friend who flew from overseas. I was panicky and rushed into Papa’s Pizza Parlor and they were so kind to help me out during the emergency. While I was waiting anxiously, Rick and staff were so helpful and kind to me. I also witness many customers coming into during the late hours. Papa’s Pizza Parlor is not only selling great pizza, pasta, bread but also extended kindness, support, and comfort to customers and visitors. I am so grateful to Rick, Sarah, and Kayla and Papa’s Pizza Parlor. Every successful business is about customer services. Papa’s Pizza Parlor provides the best recipe for great food, and super customer services. Everyone should come to Papa’s Pizza Parlor to enjoy great food. lots of fun, indoor playground, and the happy supportive atmosphere that Rick and its staff have created. I can not express my gratitude enough to Rick and Papa’s Pizza Parlor. Dr. Trudy Hu

Can you give negative stars? They asked for our address when we asked if they deliver. Put us on hold a while, then came back and said they’d have to check in a second(what? why?) then insisted on taking our order first only to tell us after that they don’t deliver to our address… But, it’s okay! They’d gladly put our order in if we wanted to pick it up… SODISAPPOINTING!

For a place with a total hot mess kid’s play area, it has great pizza. I would actually rate their pizza 8⁄10. The crust is thick and gooey but nice and crispy on the bottom. Their breadsticks are awesome too. Their play area is what you would expect from a high density play area. There are two ball pits, a climbing area with tunnels and a bridge, a little merry go round, and a small Ferris wheel thing. I bet it’s awesome during the week when it’s uncrowded. I went on a weekend and it way cray cray. I had to watch my toddler like a hawk because there were a lot of unsupervised big kids. Good pizza, a nice play area, and hours of fun. I will definitely go again… but during the week.

OK, so I recently discovered the« Unilocal App», I know, pretty late to the party on that one. Until recently I only used Unilocal sometimes, and mostly wrote reviews for places that I was particularly inspired by. Now that I have the App and find it enjoyable to check-in to places, I have noticed the reviews of some of my favorite places. To my shock, I checked-in to Papa’s last week and was stunned to see it rated at 2.5 stars. So I will give my own story and full honest review to help anyone considering this place to make an informed decision… I have been going to Papa’s Pizza since I was a very young child. I grew up in Eugene only a mile or so away from one of their locations and this was one of my favorite places growing up. As I moved into the high school years, I had several friends who worked at Papa’s so I continued to frequent the establishment even though I had outgrown the play area. It was in these late high school years that I really discovered the best taco pizza ever. Yes, this distinction belongs to Papa’s in my opinion. There other pizza is good, not great, but the taco is absolutely on point and incredibly hard to beat. I have been living in the Portland Metro now for about 8 years and the Beaverton location has become a part of my young family’s routine. So here’s a breakdown: Pizza — Taco is awesome, Papa’s combo is really good, and everything else is good but not great. Think Abby’s if you need something to compare it to. It is better than your run-of-the-mill pizza delivery chain, but maybe not worth the premium price if you’re just looking for a greasy pie delivered on a Friday night. I’m pretty sure I am out of their delivery area, but I probably would not have them delivered much even if I wasn’t, as Papa’s is more to me than just pizza. Play area — My kids are 4.5 and 2.5, we’ve been coming here since the oldest was 1, they have both always loved it. When they were younger, we had to pay close attention to them and follow them around to make sure they didn’t get run over by some of the older kids. Once the youngest turned 2, they both handle themselves; we don’t have to pay very close attention to them. They come running to the table when they need refreshment, and we shove some pizza in their mouths as they run back to the play area. This is nice, as it allows the wife and I to have a conversation, or sometimes we meet friends their and catch-up. The play area is supervised as well, which is a plus. Alcohol — This is one of the few places you can relax and enjoy a decent pitcher of beer while the littles burn off energy. Might not seem like a big deal to some, but parents of young kids can appreciate a cold one after a long week. They have several beers on tap, and I think they serve wine as well. I don’t usually drink here, but every once in a while I split a pitcher with a friend. Service — I have been to Papa’s a lot. I have never had a problem with service, which to be honest with you, is really quite surprising. When this place gets cranking, it seems quite hectic behind the counter, but I can only think of once that they forgot a kids meal, and they more than made up for the mishap. Bottom line — Papa’s is a great place to take the family, visit with friends, and relax. It is one of the best places I have ever been in terms of allowing adults to relax and kids to play. This isn’t always what we are looking for, but when it is, Papa’s is the place. Given the volume of people this place can handle, if you go on a busy night, you probably won’t get top notch service. You will get good service in a great environment though, which is all I ever ask for of this place. A couple of tips: Thursday night is buffet night; this is a good night to go if you need to get the family out of the house for cheap. I get the wife and me a buffet and the kids split a kid’s meal and we are out less than $ 20. For a night of fun, that is a bargain! Keep in mind, Thursday does get busy, and sometimes they struggle to keep the pizza bar stocked. They send coupons for your birthday; you can sign up every member of your family. We get a $ 10 off coupon for each month one of us has a birthday, if you planning on going or have been, I highly recommend you sign up for this. So, let the haters hate, but at the end of the day, Papa’s is great place for the whole family. We will continue to enjoy this establishment for years to come. I highly recommend if you are looking for awesome taco pizza or place to let the kiddos burn off some energy.

Two years ago we had our daughters third birthday here. We had an awesome time! We went back tonight to celebrate her 5th. I called a month in advance to reserve a space for 30 people requesting the back room. I was told that would be noted. I was given a couple of tables in the middle of the restaurant where most of my quests had to stand. On a toilet seat in the girls bathroom there was poop and the soap dispenser was empty. The play area stunk of stinky feet so bad… maybe a few air fresheners should be used, and there was no cool air in this place full of people.. it was so hot we were all sweating by the time we left. Sadly I don’t think we will be doing any more birthdays at papas pizza parlor.

Papas pizza is great it has the pizzeria feel from old days of pizza parlors. The only thing is we ordered pizza at 2:14 and didn’t get our pizza until 3:21 because they gave our pizza away. At least they have good customer service to make up for it.

Wow. What a disappointing experience with papas pizza parlor in Beaverton Oregon. Tonight I placed an order at 5:40 for a pizza, as I did not feel like cooking. The website said to expect an hour for delivery, pretty standard. An hour and 15 minutes went by, and I called to check and make sure my order was received… Me: I placed an order over an hour ago online, I just wanted to make sure it was on the way Employee: He’s on his way, bye! Me: Wait, would you like my name so you know what order it is? Employee: *long sigh* fine. What is it? Please hold. And I held… And I held… Finally just hung up. An hour later(total of 2 ½ hours for delivery) my pizza finally showed up. Cold and missing half the ingredients I requested. Did I mention a medium pizza and a side of chicken was $ 32? I won’t be making that mistake again…

Very mediocre pizza. Better than Pizza Hut, Papa John, etc. Salad bar is average but a little thin on toppings. The lettuce mix was crisp and the fresh topping that I had were crisp and fresh. We eat here once or twice a year because the do one of the better fund raiser for schools.

The reviews on this place are pretty mixed and mine is based on visiting on a couple of different occasions. I admit that the first time I went, I was less than impressed. The pizza was ‘meh’ and the play area, while fun for the kiddos, smelled of feet, sweat and I-don’t-wanna-leave desperation. This was a couple of years ago, and I hadn’t been back since. That is, until last night when I was prompted to go to help out with a school fundraiser. We went for dinner around 5pm. The staff was super helpful and friendly and we were able to order two kids buffets and one adult buffet. The menu says the buffet is only until 2pm, but we didn’t have any issue ordering them for dinner. On top of that, I asked if the buffet included any gluten free pizza, to which the manager said he’d be more than happy to include a gf pizza of my choice. I asked for a half pepperoni and half Hawaiian. Once the pizza was ready, a staff member came and found me to make sure I knew it was coming out so I would be able to get a few slices before others swooped in. Above and beyond! TAKENOTE: if there is a red checker printed paper under the pizza in the buffet area, it is GLUTENFREE. It’s not the best gf pizza, but it’s edible. The sauce was a little on the overly generous side, and is more of a tomato paste than a sauce, but it was okay. My husband joined us later and had the regular pizza; he said it was pretty good. All in all a good experience. The buffet is a pretty good deal and the kids had a blast playing in the play area, which still smelled of I-don’t-wanna-leave desperation, but at least it didn’t wreak of feet. We’ll be back again.

We checked this place out last week. The pizza was definitely good. The breadsticks? They weren’t bad, but I was surprised that they came with ranch dipping sauce instead of marinara. It was a little odd. The play area was big, and it was one of the main reasons we came here. They do have a seating area right next to the play area that is separated by a wall with windows allowing you to look in, so you can monitor what your kids are doing without actually hanging around in the same room with all of the kids running around. The inside of the restaurant itself was larger than I expected, and there were a few rooms available for if you wanted to have a private party. The place is a bit older, so it seems a little worn on the inside, but it’s a family restaurant with a play-place in it, so I wouldn’t necessarily expect anything different after years of kids running around on the inside. I saw at least 1TV in the place that was showing football.
