Cute clean little hot pot in Beaverton strip mall. Nice modern bamboo interior décor. But a little lower lighting would make it feel less cafeteria and more exotic. Food was not bad… really enjoyed the lamb, spicy broth was good and hot and veggies ere great, but over all pretty expensive considering the quality. Fresh young coconut was the highlight not-to-be-missed moment for sure.

Great atmosphere, we ordered a la cart. They asked if we had done hot pot before and because we had we were left to do our own thing. I would really recommend going here, even with a big group!

Overall I gave this place 3.5 stars based on their price, food and service. 1. Their soup base: we had the half & half and I gave it 3 stars. I’m probably a bit critical here because I’m from Sichuan, China, where hot pot originated. Soup base is the essential part of good hot pot and I felt theirs lacks the depth and flavor. The spicy side, despite all the spices and red chili peppers and Sichuan peppercorns, is bland. The white base was easier to spice up by adding some seafood and different kind of meats and mushrooms, so by the end it tasted much better. 2. The variety of meats and vegies: I gave it 3.5 stars as they have pretty good selections. However, I really miss some of the traditional hot pot favorites like water eels, huang hou(cow aorta), pig brain, duck intestine, konjac, etc. The AYCE is $ 23/adult, which is a bit pricey without any drinks or sauces. Some of the meats, like meat balls come in small portion like 2 pcs, but you can ask for 2 or 3 portions at a time. Overall, the quality is good. 3. The service: I was hesitant to try this place based on a lot of negative reviews about their service. And I have to say my experience was pleasant enough and I gave it 4 stars. We went in on a week day and right after 5, so they were pretty slow. There were still lots tables empty by the time we left. Our server was attentive and checked on us to see if we need to refill any of our orders. He’s also apologetic whenever he interrupted us by putting dishes up or removing dirty/empty dishes. 4. The dinning area of the restaurant is very clean. It’s much bigger inside than how it looks from the outside. I used the restroom once and had to say that 2 out of 3 were dirty. It could be some of the customers though. If you have never had any hot pot experience, this place is fun to try. They said they’re going to have some combo options coming soon and I’d like to try that. It’s slightly cheaper than AYCE, and you get a pre-selected meats and vegies. It’s good for people who don’t eat much and from the pics you still get plenty food.

If you don’t want to do this at home, then go here. So far this is the best hot pot place I have been to. They have a large variety of ingredients and big portions. It’s going to be cheaper and tastier, if you want to do this at home. You can buy Little Sheep soup base packets at H-Mart for $ 5. If you do go here, here is some advice: 1) Go for the all-you-can-eat, if you want variety and you have an average to large appetite. If you are a small eater, then you can just order a few ingredients for yourself. 2) 1 portion is enough for two people. I ended up overordering because I thought 1 portion of meat is for one person. 3) Fun to do with a larger party. 4) Pay for the extra dipping sauce. It will be too bland without it. 5) Order rice… it’s hard to just eat without it. Soup base is bland. It would be nice if they use a beef or chicken broth rather than water. That’s why I like to make my own soup base at home. Be patient. The service is not like an American restaurant where they are very attentive. If you need something, you need to flag down a server. This is just the nature of a Chinese restaurant.

Love it! Came with a Groupon. But have watched it being built since we shop at the Asian market next door. For the $ 23 all you can eat… It is all you can eat! And the portions were generous, the quality high and the variety incredible! This is the fourth hot pot we’ve done in Portland and even though the husband prefers the hotter style of sauce, this wss perfect. Get the split half and half, order a lot of meats, dumplings, thick noodles, head on sweet shrimp, bok choy, tiger paw mushrooms! Surprisingly, we loved the yams, lotus root, and quail eggs as well! And the service was spectacular on a Thursday night! Had water glasses filled, broth refilled when the pot ran low, and they were attentive to our reorders! Chose the all you can eat… They have an a la cart option but you will probably spend more that way! Five happy stars!

Best Hot Pot I’ve had in town! Portions and sizes are large, good quality, and delicious broth. Get the half-and-half regular/spicy broth. Hot tea is included. Lovely brand new restaurant! We went on a Monday, so of course we got great service. There are lots of whole piece spices and herbs in the broth for flavoring, so don’t eat it unless you want to try. Even though paper gives you 2 rounds(columns) to check off what food items you want, you’re allowed to go more rounds after that(manager can explain to you how the process works). Each # you put next to the food item represents how many people wants it. I recommend to start less #‘s for each items. We got plenty of food on our first round, that the second round we ended up only getting a few items. It’s really all-you-can-eat for $ 23pp! I also recommend getting the Alan special sauce, which is a blend of 4 sauces($.50 each sauce), but it’s so amazing and made my experience 10x more delicious and it’s enough for the whole table! Great place to go on a cooler weather day. Looking forward to coming back soon! *Utilize Groupon Deals. *Based on other low star reviews, I suggest not coming during busy day/hours, so you can enjoy the full true experience like we did. *They will give you $ 5 off coupons to use on your next visit. *Enjoy!

We were really looking forward to a nice dinner this evening at the Little Sheep Mongolian Hot Pot. Customer service was next to none. We did get drinks soon after we were seated, but we sat and sat before someone came to take our order. Finally we flagged someone down, and he got back to us after a bit. We let him know we’d never been there, so we needed helping finding out what to do. He did not explain much, and what he did explain, was actually incorrect. He was annoyed with us, and when we asked him again, how it works in more detail he said«I already explained to you.» Finally the manager took our order. Although the service was better, it was still lacking. We will not be back and do not recommend it to anyone.

The food was good, but the service sucked. We asked for rice, and never got it. We asked about 4 or 5 times, and it still never came. I had to flag down a waiter three times just to get a drink refill. Our sauces never arrived either, until we got the attention of a waiter running past us. Like a previous Unilocaler said, we had to be aggressive to get what we needed.

I’m torn, the food is good and the price is decent, but the service is terrible! I came here for dinner with some friends and it’s basically«all you can eat» hot pot. I put«all you can eat» in quotes because although you can order as much as you want, you only get TWO rounds to order and the second round you order they give you SIGNIFICANTLYLESS food, so if there is anything you want in bulk, GETITTHEFIRSTROUND! The food, the quality and the quantity was all great. But the service really killed it. The place was really busy when we got there. Everyone was running around like they were putting out fires. No one greeted us after we sat down. No one got us water or tea. No one came by to pick up our order form. We had to be super aggressive and flag down someone running past us just to ask for water and turn in our order form. When our food was brought to us, we realized we got items we didn’t order and we had items missing that we did order. It was fine, since it was«all you can eat» so it’s not like we were being charged for all these incorrect items that were brought to us. We quickly discovered our favorite items and ordered more of those for the second(and our final round). When those favorite items came, it was very small portions. For example, they only gave us 2 shrimps for the 3 of us. Not even enough for one shrimp per person. And of course, the whole time we were eating there, if we wanted anything at all, we had to practically dive at a waiter running by just to get their attention. The all you can eat option is around $ 23/person. It’s on the pricer end by when you consider the quality and portion of the food, it’s pretty worth it. You leave there SUPER full(despite the small portions they give you for your second round). Overall, the food is great, so if they just improved their service, this place would be amazing! They need some sort of organization or a manager that knows what they are doing. Because whatever they are doing right now, is not organized and not effective. I’ll give them another month before I return, hopefully their figure it out by then!

$ 23/adult for AYCE(lunch & dinner prices — doesn’t include drinks or sauces). A bit pricey imo, but they have a lot of variety, quality of items are good, and the broths are super tasty. I especially like the beef, tripe, dumplings, quail eggs, enoki mushrooms, baby bok choy, shrimp, and yam noodles. Service has been good & attentive the last two times I’ve gone. I haven’t had an issue with getting food or ordering more. The space is really clean, new, and good for groups bigger than 4~5 if you reserve ahead of time.

I was very excited when I saw it being built a couple months ago, that we finally have a hotpot place in Beaverton. It was about time. The existence of the Asian market next door and now this hotpot makes the area alive, it used to be dead there. Anyway onto the restaurant. I have been here twice. It is an «all you can eat» hotpot place. On the paper for ordering, you can order two rounds, with however much quantity you like per round for each item(I asked the staff there how many times can we order, they said«as many as you want», so you could ask for a new paper if you want to order more than twice). All the meats and veggies we ordered looked fresh. The spicy broth is not that spicy(trust me, I have tasted the spicy one in China, I couldn’t eat it). I wish the dipping sauces were included in the $ 23 that we are paying. What is a hotpot without a good dipping sauce? Fun story: It was fun to see an older white American lady came in today by herself where she was seated next to us. She was curious and wanted to try hotpot for the first time. She was observing me and my brother, and when our eyes met she was like«what do you do with the meat? :D?». The staff who attended her were nice and patient. I think the customer service here is good. I think the best time to come is before 12 pm, when it just opens and not very many people yet. Recommended.

This is my favorite hot pot restaurant in Portland. I’ve been to Little Sheep locations in Seattle /Bellevue, Houston and Southern California. I would say what they offer is fairly consistent with the other locations. True, Little Sheep is on the pricer side and you have to pay for your own sauces but it’s no different than the other locations. Their spicy and non-spicy broth is what makes them famous. It’s flavorful enough you can bypass any need for sauce. Did I mention it’s all you can eat? Come with an empty stomach. With all the raining cold weather we get here in Portland, to me, hot pot always sounds so satisfying.

This is probably the best hot pot on the westside besides homemade hot pot. Been here four times now…3 times the menu has change. The addition of the dumplings and wontons made it to 4.5 stars… Service has been hit and miss. but if you get Jimmy… you are in good hands! Be prepared to wait if you come on the weekends. The weekdays are a better option.

I believe that they’ve improved tremendously since their Grand Opening. Food was great and staff were so friendly and attentive. The menu/ordering sheet was a bit confusing and they brought out the wrong item the 2nd time we ordered. We brought it to their attention and they were so sweet to us by fixing the order right away. We went there on Sunday around 5pm with a party of 2. We didn’t have to wait long for the first and second round of food at all. Overall, I love this place. Great food and excellent customer service. What stopped me from giving them 5 stars is the price and having to pay extra for sauce. If you want dipping sauce, you do have to pay 50 cents extra for sauce. The spicy broth was flavorful enough that we didn’t need any sauce. It was $ 23 something per adult for dinner, which I believe is a bit too pricey.

Really nice open place, great place for groups. I suggest going early Sunday morning. Also keep in mind the servers don’t speak much here, you get sat down and handed a menu. The ordering process can be a bit confusing SO let me help break the ordering process down for you. You can only order 2 times MAX for each item. There are two rounds, round one and round two. When you’re ordering for each item please put how many # of servings you’d like for each item. Example: PORK and you write the # 3 next to it — this means you want three portions of this item. The meat will come out on one plate but just stacked. With the exception of the fishballs which are limited to 2pcs per order. So for fishball example: Fishball and you write the # 4 — this means you want four servings of fishball which equals to 8 pieces of fishballs total. After finishing off all the first plates you can then order a second round of everything on the menu. Then that’s it, you’re cut off. Be sure to flag down a server for this, they get pretty busy. Our server was nice enough to explain this to us. Food comes out quick and service was really attentive. You don’t really need sauces here for your food, the flavoring broths are pretty pungent so unless you really need to I would say no. Four stars cause we weren’t handed any napkins or eating utensils for a while. The tea here is good.

I love this chain! So glad, we finally have one in Oregon and on the Westside of town. Due to the prior reviews rating poorly on the wait time and service, we decided to go for lunch. We ordered the House Original Broth and there are 2 rounds AYCE, no limit on the selection(meat, seafood, veggies, mushrooms, fishball and noodles), but 2 per item each round with drinks included. I rate this place 4 out of 5 stars, the place is new, clean, the service(during lunch) was prompt, we were seated right away and got our order in and was checked several times throughout our dining experience. The price is reasonable for AYCE and quality of the ingredients. I would recommend this place for large groups and maybe come for lunch(less busy). I will most likely dine there again, saves me a trip from going to 82nd Ave.

Always loved this chain, and my experience here was great! It is a Chinese restaurant, so customer service is not as great as an average restaurant in the area. Sometimes you just need to flag the waiter down instead of waiting on them. They just want to get the job done(serve you food, drinks, refills etc.) Believe it or not… that’s the Chinese way! We came on NYE for lunch and it was busy, but not crowded. Clean interior, got seated very quickly and broth was excellent! You get a sheet to order and there are tons of choices(Favorites: lamb slices, squid, mussels, hand shaven noodles, mushrooms…). Operation is pretty much the same as the chain’s standard procedures in the States or Hong Kong. Anyway, the only reason why I took a star away is because other locations I’ve been to has hand-made meatballs/fishballs. This is the only Little Sheep I’ve been to that serves the pre-made stuff. Overall I will be back!

2 hours just to get our first plate of meat? i have never been so upset at a restaurant. 20 min just to get some water and menu. another 30 to get our side of kimchi. another 30 for the server to come around just so he can tell me to fill out another sheet since«something went wrong» with our menu. i spoke to the manager who didnt seem to give a crap cause he asked me if i wanted my check when I hadn’t even eaten? in the meantime, a different server comes around saying its last call so we need to order asap. I straight just got up and left. never again.

Ok folks — if you are craving hot pot, this should not be your destination of choice. I heard good things from this«chain» from Cali so when a few friends suggested to go, I caved in. I arrived a little after 6 and put my name down. In order to get a table, all members of your party must be present. Once everyone arrived, we got a table towards the back. Seating isn’t that great for parties of 5 or more. I ended up sitting outside of the booth(most are set up like this…). It’s about 23 bucks a person and all you can eat. We checked off what we wanted for«the first round» and then some food arrived in short bursts. I started to pay attention and not everything arrived of what we wanted. Sure we got some meat to cook but we waited and waited and waited for more to arrive. Servers go by and didn’t ask if we need anything else or more water. It was starting to become a «shit show»… We flagged a server down and wanted our«2nd» round of food. He «huffed» and took the paper away. If I was a manager I would have canned him in the spot for his shitty attitude. It gets worse from there. We wait for about 45 minutes and then we flagged more servers down. Finally a server said it looked like our order didn’t get in and a lot of food options were not available Broth was running out and the same shitty server used the same broth for both mild and spicy. I pretty much lost my appetite by then. Food started to arrive again and we managed to eat what was given to us. The group next to us got food and service, but for us it was pretty sad. It’s not worth the drive or time to come here for hot pot. I been to other places and gotten better food, service, and quality for the around the same price. Unless you want to wait for an eternity for food and service you may or not receive, best go elsewhere folks!

Super mixed bag. The food was pretty good. The broth and sauces were really flavorful. We got half and half broth and the sesame and leek sauces. We got there at 4:30pm and were seated at 5:20pm, about 20 minutes after they opened. Pandemonium in there. Here’s where everything goes off the tracks. They don’t explain the ordering process to us. They just dropped off one ball point pen and an order sheet. Everything important is in Chinese, which was fine because we can read Chinese, but god. You’re in Beaverton. Not Monterey Park. You can’t expect everybody who goes there to be able to read Chinese. The key points: They charge you for the food you don’t eat(some dollar amount per ounce or something) so don’t over order. Not sure what the 1st and 2nd ordering thing is yet. Somebody picked up the order sheet and off we go. They screw up our order in many, many ways. First of all, they charge you extra(on top of the AYCE) for sauces and a few hot items. They brought out our soup broth within about 15 minutes of ordering, but don’t bring us anything else for 45 minutes. We ask multiple servers and none of them know what’s going on. We’re starting to feel irritated, especially as everybody around us gets all their food. Multiple courses of meat and vegetables. We’re still staring at the same lonely dish of kimchi. In an effort to expedite our order, it seems like multiple servers placed our order in the computer multiple times(or so was explained to us). So we got multiple plates of cabbage but no fish, mussels, shrimp, or shrimp balls. Coincidence? Who knows. We were straight up hungry until the last 15 minutes we were there. We finally through harassing the staff got the rest of our food. They still left off a few things, and brought us multiple dishes of some items. They also tried to bring us food that other people had ordered. They tried to bring us multiple dishes of the stuff we had ordered that weren’t included in the AYCE price. It was a constant battle to get food from them, but not the wrong food, not other people’s food, and not repeats of things we had already gotten. A hot fucking mess. I don’t know. I was pretty excited to come and the food was good, but I can’t go through this experience again. We’ll probably wait a few months and see if service picks up. I usually don’t mind Chinese restaurant service but shit got real tonight.
