Learning Years Day School

I love this place!!! They’re so great with my children! One of my little ones has a health condition and the providers pay close attention to any signs in which case I need to be notified, it gives me a huge sense of comfort. My older child has grown so much in such a healthy way in their school! I could not be happier! Thank you everyone at Learning Years!!!

Such an amazing school. My boys have been here for a year and a half and we all love it. The teachers are caring and provide a fun and educational curriculum. My son who is entering public kindergarten is well prepared thanks to their amazing pre-​k program.
They were also able to point me in the right direction for finding help for my son with a speech delay and coordinate with the public school district so that my son can have speech therapy at their location. The preschool teachers ask what they can do during the day to help him improve his speech and are working with him during daily activities to help with consistency.
They have lots of creative play and special programs including music. They do a great job of taking advantage of the various age-​appropriate outdoor play areas when the weather permits.
We recently moved to Hillsdale from Beaverton and are sticking with Learning Years even though it is a bit of a drive.

I liked Learning Years so much that, even after we moved from Beaverton down into the depths of Tigard, i put off finding a more local day care for almost a year. I drove about seven miles each way because i wasn’t sure i could find another preschool that would be anywhere near as good.
My son started here when he was 1.5, in Little Todds, and he was halfway between PreSchool 1 and PreSchool 2 when i finally had to admit that the gas costs were getting stupid. In every classroom, he was looked after by teachers who clearly loved children, and clearly knew how to teach and relate to the age group they handled.
There are a huge variety of activities, both inside and out, at this center. There are large, age-​appropriate playgrounds that are in use any time the weather allows it. When it’s rainy, they stay inside and paint, color, dance, count, or whatever else the teachers can come up with.
You can set up just about any part-​time schedule if you need to. I know from shopping around that a lot of day cares have pretty rigid schedules, so if you need to do half-​days, or some days but not others, Learning Years is probably one of your best bets.
You can also pay by credit card and have the tuition automatically paid instead of futzing around with checks all the time.
One random thing i really liked about Learning Years was the they would troop the younger kids down to the infant/​wobblers rooms every once in a while. This helped the little ones get used to the idea of tiny babies (and taught them to whisper if you tell them «babies are sleeping», which is awfully useful). Since most 1 – 2 year olds don’t have a younger sibling yet, this really helps them get used to the idea of babies before they might have to deal with one every day at home should their parents have another, or when visiting friends and family who have infants.
So i guess the short version is that Learning Years is run by nice, helpful people who love kids. They’re great. I wish i could have brought them with me when i moved.

No Reason to rate The Learning Years anything other than 5 stars. The staff is always smiling and they all look to truly enjoy being with the kids. We have had our 18 month old here for 5 months now and he loves going to «school» 3 days a week.
Great rate, food provided, flexible days, can’t say enough good things.

The Learning Years has been a good place for my 3 sons to be. I have an infant, a preschooler, and a kindergartner there right now and all three seem to really enjoy their time. Each is doing age appropriate activities and interacts with the teachers and has a good time. Kindergarten follows Beaverton School District method. Price is very reasonable for the area. I checked around and they are in the middle of the pack on tuition. School is older, but is locally owned and most of the management staff has been there at least 10 years or more. There are fancier schools with more elaborate programs, but in my opinion Learning Years gets the job done just fine.
They also stay open until 6:30pm! Which can be hard to find.
Lunch is provided with tuition. Breakfast is available only before 7:30 and at an (very low) extra charge. Take a tour, it is a good place.
