Absolutely delicious! Not only do they have the best red chowder on LBI, we had a fantastic dinner! We had roasted oysters, the special– fig& scallop salad(omg, so delicious!!! Get it while it lasts people!), the flounder with roasted asparagus&+mushrooms+ tomatoes& the flounder pan-fried with crème fraîche. Great servers, great management and just an overall wonderful experience. You just can’t get this sort of attention to flavor and detail everywhere, if anywhere for a very reasonable price on LBI. The Chef is outstanding!

Had dinner last Monday evening– the staff was lovely, the food was eh. I had delicious French onion soup– then an overpriced burger that was undercooked. When I sent it back it came out burnt and my fries were cold. Top that off with the most ignorant patron who started with me because I asked his wife(nicely, I thought) to move her chair in a tad so my friend could sit at the table. What an ass. I won’t be back.

The views did not compensate for the very poorly made food. Really much better options around beach haven than this bad place. Minimal tender loving care put in the incredibly expensive food. $ 31 crab cakes actually tasted like soapy testicles. The only positive experience we had was the soft butter and the screams of joy from the kids that you could hear in the water park. Horrible.

Very accommodating and kind staff. But bland and subpar food. Have been here in the past and feel that the quality has declined. Ordered the penne vert, mussels, and seafood linguini — all very disappointing. In addition, $ 8 for bottled water?

Just got back from Bistro 14, and I had to write a Unilocal review on how amazing my dinner was. I made reservations at 7:45PM and was a little late, but they seated me immediately. We were seated on the balcony during which the sun was setting. OHEMGHEE if you want to have a dinner and watch the sunset at the same time, look no further! The balcony seats is in direct view of the setting sun. Ahhhh Amazing! That was partly one of the reasons what made my dining experience so awesome! The setting sun! On to the food! We ordered the Crab & Corn Bisque, as well as the Fried Artichokes! The soup was light, creamy and sweet! Perfect as an individual appetizer before the main course. Next was the Fried Artichoke which I though had a nice crunch to it, also great as an appetizer! My girl order the Halibut over roasted potatoes, asparagus, and white wine. While I ordered and kept things simple with their Bistro Burger! The Halibut was fresh, flaky, and soft, everything that, you’d want in seafood selection, the basics done well. The burger, was a burger, but I say it in a good way, it was huge, juicy, and filling. Although my burger was delicious, the highlight were the fries I had. They had this garlic and sea salt garnish that tasted like heaven, in fact my favorite part of the meal was the fries so, if you happen to come here! Get the fries!!! For service, our waiter was kind, fast, nice, and attentive to our needs. He was a nice Spanish man who for all the reasons had given us the best service I could possibly ask for. Overall, would I come here again? That is yes! PS get the fries!

Great place for dinner. It’s BYOB and the seafood is always fresh. Prices are very fair for the portions they give. I recommend sitting outside where you can see amazing sunsets.

Currently sitting in the restaurant, horrible! Took forever to get 4 entrees, not our waitress’ fault, the kitchen was«backed up» meanwhile the place is half empty. Two of the entrees were cold and one had NO flavor! Tried to save the pasta dish with crushed red pepper, they were«out». Sent it back, it was that awful. The prices were WAY out of line with the quality of food. I would never come here again, however if you can sit at the back windows and have some wine, the sunset view is pretty great.

We are here for my sisters birthday and unfortunately I don’t have anything nice to say about the place. It’s only at about 50% capacity and it took over an hour for the food to come out(which wouldn’t be terrible if the food was good but it’s not). I had the fettuccine with rosemary cream sauce, roasted tomatoes, and chicken. They charge extra for the chicken and it was 4 tiny strips of dry over cooked chicken. The«cream» sauce is a puddle of liquid at the bottom of the plate, and the«roasted tomatoes» are a few tomato skins soaked in liquid sauce. It was pretty awful. Feedback from the rest of the table was all the same. Most of us ordered pasta dishes and the sauces were all very liquidy. The burger was dry and seemed frozen. And during our hour long wait for the food they served us cold bread with no plates and one plastic cup of butter for 8 people. Lastly, which really isn’t a huge deal but something I always take note of, the menus are paper and looked like dogs chewed on them. If you’re going to use paper menus and not cover them properly so they can be cleaned then you should not be reusing them, it’s vey unsanitary and speaks volume to the way the place is managed. If the menus aren’t clean and fresh I could only imagine what happens in the kitchen. The menu should be the most well presented item aside from the food and it’s awful how many restaurants don’t understand the importance of that. We should have taken that as a sign to bail out ahead of time. Not sure how they have 3.5 stars on here as it’s definitely a 2 star restaurant at most and I say that only because the place itself looks decent inside. We won’t be coming back though and definitely didn’t stay for desert.

French onion soup was great! Caesar salad was good — could use a tad more dressing. Calamari app was delish! Love that it’s just the 0’s and no tentacles. Got the scallops for dinner which were fresh and prepared nicely. BYOB or they now serve bottles of wine from a winery they have paired up with.

Excellent service! Didn’t have to wait for a table. Reasonably priced. There Pinot Grigio wine is excellent. Food also excellent. And the view to die for

Seafood was awsome, I love that they had dugeness crabs as well as the snow and king. Cheese burger was not awsome but not bad(my daughter doesn’t go for the crab legs like my wife and I). Soft shell crab was good but I didn’t think the bredding was the best that it could be. Next time we are going to bring some beers or some wine and sit at the raw bar, I didn’t get any oysters this time so thats what i’ve got in mind for the next trip. I forgot the mussels! How could I for get the mussels, we went with the Thi coconut curry, sooo good.

I had a delicious meal here on a Friday. First, the setting is awesome with a view of the bay from the second floor balcony(outside seating!) It’s called Bistro 14 because you climb 14 steps to get to the restaurant on the second floor. We had the oysters, mussels, shrimp, and crab claw tower appetizer. Fresh and delicious, The horseradish was out of this world. I had the crab corn chowder which was very yummy. For the entrée it was a plump piece of grilled halibut. BYOB! I’ll definitely return here!

Bistro 14. One of our go to seafood eateries on LBI& we’re year round locals, we know our good food! We LOVE any of the soups! All are home made, and never salty. The crab corn bisque is mouth watering! Shrimp cocktail appetizer always has cold and fresh shrimp, with sauce that always has the right heat The clams though… YUM! Try 1 of each! Excellent local selection, the best around. Dinner is amazing. The hangar steak, for a seafood place, is possibly the best on the island. Like butttah! We switch it up from time to time & ask for the mashed potatoes instead of the customary steak fries, and they are more than happy to accommodate! Any of the fresh fish in 1 of the many selections to have it prepared is top notch. We prefer pan fried with crème fresh. Nice, big pieces of fish never overcooked, looking like it just came off the boats from viking village, which it more than likely did! Then comes desert! Crème brûlée on LBI? Yes please! Staff are excellent and on top of their game. Water is always filled without asking, and wine we brought was in an ice bucket as soon as we sat down. Host even brought over crayons without having to ask so my kids could color on the butcher paper that lines the table. Restaurant is BYOB, which we appreciate because we can have a few glasses of wine without breaking the bank on dinner. Go. You won’t be disappointed. They are one of the restaurants on LBI that is Chef owned, and he is there cooking for you! Not an employee who he has trained who has no chef experience(which is in almost every LBI eatery…) tell them a local sent you

I was very disappointed with my food from here. The food was cold and the sauce for my mussels was burned and tasted disgusting. Also prices are ridiculous for the poor quality of the food. And the French fries were soggy.

Meal was delicious all except to fries. I’ve never been so disappointed in a lack of flavor. I’d rather McDonald’s fries.

I came here with my lady for a special Anniversary dinner while we were on LBI. We LOVE oysters. We figured since it was a special occasion, we would splurge and get the Grand Plateau, a three tiered tower of raw oysters, clams, steamed shrimp, and three types of crab legs. It was a lot of food for two people, but it was delicious. The oysters were fresh, local, and delicious. They were out of a few varieties when we got there, which was a bummer, but the ones we did try were fresh and sweet with just the right amount of brine. The crabs were sweet and tender, and really had a lot of meat. One thing that we didn’t know from their website was that they are BYOB, and we had even brought a couple of bottles of wine with us to the Shore, but left them in the house where we were staying. Oh well, no drinks with dinner, but now we know for next time. It is too bad, I love BYO places because it cut so much off of the price and you can bring a bottle you know you are really going to enjoy. I would definitely come back for the raw bar, and bring some beer or wine with me the next time.

Nominated Long Beach Island’s best raw bar. and with the variety of local oysters, fresh snow crab claws, buttery lobster, and then some that they offer its just deserved. Only giving 4 stars because they’re not being BYOB would really be the perfect thing to tie the overall dining experience together, and had I had known before entering I would have come prepared with the perfect libations to go with my sandwich and oysters. But still they are the perfect non brunch BYOB option on the island. and enjoying impeccable service upon a roof deck that overlooked the shops by the serene bay was more than enough to have me overlook that one detail. with their massive raw bar selection grabbing a couple oysters, a dungeness crab cluster, or shrimp cocktail is a must. The oysters I got were decadent and caught right from the bay, and the snowcrab claws were perfect. Although their Chowderfest grand champion winning chowder, goat cheese tart, or cheese plate may be enough to steer you in another direction for apps. While their Bistro Burger, crab cake basket, and many seafood combos all sounded beyond tempting. But going with the raw bar theme I had to go with the amazing sounded lobster club that had buttery chunks of Maine lobster, smoked bacon, juicy mango, lettuce & tomato sandwiched between a sliced croissant. And it was just as delicious as it sounds! With things like that I’ll definitely be back on my next LBI visit.
