Great local hardware shop. Always open when I need them. They stock a great variety of common house hold hardware, cut keys, and have everything you need for a medium sized project. I far, far prefer going to Posner over Home Depot.

Kind of pricey but has a prettt good selection. They also specialize in cutting and programming car keys which have the chip.

Who needs Home Depot when you have a great, friendly neighborhood hardware store? The staff is knowledgeable and able to answer your questions, the store is well stocked; if they don’t have what you need they’ll pull out one of their big books and find it and order it. Shopping local is Back to the Future; it’s the way it should be.

I’m glad I discovered my local hardware store to get some lightbulbs for my lamp, since the service was exceptional: I walked out in less than 10 minutes with what I was looking for. As soon as I entered the hardware store, I saw someone examining the window. Since I(rightly) assumed he was one of the workers, I asked him where I could find the specific lightbulb type I was looking for, and quickly got it for me. He was also willing to explain why my previous lightbulbs might have cracked, and I’m glad I got some answers about that issue I once had. His friendly, professional coworker took care of the monetary transaction for the lightbulbs: two for $ 3, a great price for something I’m glad I didn’t have to buy in bulk. Since I’m getting more interested in DIY projects and have been compiling my own toolbox, I imagine myself coming back here again. I’m generally a huge fan of independent businesses, including this one.

Expertly changed the pins on my deadbolt lock in just a couple minutes so I didn’t have to replace the entire assembly. Easy and inexpensive. This place is great!

Have you got a «I don’t have a clue how to fix it issue», then these guys have the answer. This is a great neighborhood hardware store where you actually have guys that know the solutions to your paint and fix it problems and you do not have to walk all over a warehouse to find someone to help you. I have been here twice, G comes here all the time for his fix it problems. During this visit I needed the components to rewire a vintage lamp than we had purchased on one of our weekend antique treasure hunts, aka Flea Market ventures. Its great to buy vintage lamps, but its never a good idea to trust in the electrical components so its always better just to rewire. I quickly explained the rewiring issue and needs to the Posner guys(also showed them picks of the lamp), and quickly they said exactly what I needed and proceeded to the area of wires and stuff to get my needs. Not only did he cut the exact amount of wire, but he also stripped the ends for me and added the plug and tested it at the register area. You wont get that service at the big box store. As a side note, if you take a lamp to a store to be rewired you will spend a fortune. Do not be afraid to do it yourself for under $ 6.00. During the visit, we also had a key made and purchased a few other items for hanging pictures which we had just had framed. This place is just a gem of a spot and it is conveniently located. You might need to go to a big box store for all kinds of big building materials, but not for everyday hardware needs. This is the place to come. The one negative is that parking on Bell Blvd can be a problem. There are all kinds of other stores and restaurants in this vicinity which can clog up the on street parking. I would say just park around the block and walk to the store. You wont regret the knowledge that you obtain from this group of guys who are the handy men extraordinaire.

Always helpful with my stupid Home questions and even the customers are nice. One customer helped get me something nexus he knew where it was. I come here whenever I know they have it or even if I’m not sure. They’ve supplied me with plunger, keys, batteries for my car remote, good anecdotes, glue for outdoors. If they offered garden material like mulch or flowers I would def come here. I know they may close one day but I hope not anytime soon. Love Posner!

Fast courteous service in a privately owned business. This what the world needs more of… less big box stores and more independently owned businesses where customers are cared for rather than shuffled.

Posner’s has everything you would expect a local hardware store to have and more! These guys are just amazing! Friendly and knowledgeable, always taking the time to listen patiently and at the end tell you what you really need, not what you thought you needed. Once I installed a automatic garage door opener and forgot to buy the manual lock release cable. I figured Posner’s probably wouldn’t carry it, but I was wrong, Saved me a long trip to Home Depot! I have had my house keys made here and I know they can cut automotive keys and program certain model car remote key fobs. I have also bought mortar, silicone, electrical switches and outlets, tire pressure gage, toilet wax rings and the list goes on. I once brought in a shower water valve and since he didn’t have that particular type, they gave me the address to a plumbing store on Bell Blvd that had them. Customer service is what these guys excel at. I had to replace the dishwasher copper drain pipe under the sink and since my pipe cutter was on loan at the time, the staff at Posner’s help me cut the pipe to the length that I needed and didn’t even charge for it. I tried tipping the kid that helped me cut the pipe but he wouldn’t take it! This is an old store that probably has been here for«ages» but that is the beauty of going and supporting your little«Mom and Pop» shops. I always believe in supporting your local neighborhood businesses. Sure, they may not always be the most cheapest but I rather spend my money on local businesses that treat you like family and respect you as a person. There is plenty of meter and free parking around the area. If you need to take mass transit. The Q27 bus line also stops on the corner of 48th Ave and Bell Blvd. Remember to always support your local businesses.

Best store in town. The staff is nice and they know a lot about a lot. I can’t believe some of the reviews on this store. For someone to call a 16 year old fat is pathetic. As for Joe being a crook, he is the farthest thing from a it. He is as honest as the day is long. The problem with these sites is it gives everyone the power of the pen. People don’t realize we are dealing with peoples livelihoods. Joe is a great guy running a great store. The area needs more stores like this one. Wish I could give 10 stars.

I’ve been shopping here for over 20 years. They stock almost everything and they know almost everything about what they stock. They will give you tips and explain how to do things. Their prices are excellent. You can’t do better. Home Depot isn’t cheaper and they sell a lot of crap. About the few negative reviews: A couple of people have complained about ‘an attitude’ of someone working there. I have been there and witnessed polite responses to the dumbest questions you can imagine. Even when the dumb question was repeated several times, hoping for a different response. It’s certainly possible to interpret a joke as an insult, but the people at Posner’s are as pleasant as humanly possible. Certainly a lot more pleasant than I would be.

This local store was here before homedept existed and weathered the storm while other local hardware stores went out of business .Been coming to this store for 25yrs and the service just keeps getting better and better thanks to Joe and his top notch staff who provide excellent service without the rude attitude often found in other stores.

AND never returned calls etc. I’ve contacted the owner of Posner, JOE, on more than one occasion, and he has done nothing to rectify this situation. I’m utterly disgusted being my family has been loyal customers for 40 years! I HOPEEVERYONEREADINGTHISWILLTHINKTWICEABOUTUSINGTHEM! This is certainly NOT how a business should treat its loyal patrons!!! PS. I didn’t want to give ANY stars but the computer made me

Looked online to get a 2010 Subaru Impreza Transponder Key cut and programmed that I bought online. Subaru wanted more than $ 200 and refused to cut any key that wasn’t theirs. This hardware store was local and we decided to give it a shot. For about $ 95, we cut the key and got it programmed, saving me a lot of money, and it worked! Definitely beats paying the Subaru stealership and this supports the local business! The guys working here know what they’re doing, and the prices are great. It’s always good to have a Locksmith like this nearby!

Went to 4 different Home Depots, and 2 different Walmarts to cut a blank key copied for my Toyota. No one would do it, and then I read about Posner’s. Friendly service, very knowledgeable employees, and the prices were great. Couldn’t have asked for a better experience; one of the employees even gave me tips for my new key for my car… really showed he cared.
