I have eaten at Los Pepe’s for a number of years. It seems to ebb and flow. We stopped going to one location due to stale chips and extremely greasy food. We discovered the newest location in Battleground last month. The first visit was wonderful and thoroughly enjoyed the meal. Today was a different story. The restaurant was fairly busy and only two people working. The service was very slow. I ordered 2 tacos, one regular hard shell and one soft shell with a side of sour cream. No beans or rice… My husbands food came out after a long wait just fine. I don’t know what I got but it wasn’t what I ordered. I sent it back. The male server came over and we went over what I ordered… The second time my food arrived it was wrong again. I told them to take it back, I did not want anything. So disgusted! Somehow at that point they got it right and brought out what I ordered in the first place. I was NOT charged for the tacos and they boxed it up for me to take home. I was not in the mood to eat by then. We usually have fried ice cream for dessert but not today after all this nonsense we went through. I was pleased that when I asked if they had bean dip, they brought a small bowl out. The chips were warm and seemed fresh. So yes, there was at least one part of my visit today that was nice. Hope they can correct this type of service… The owner is a real nice guy however he doesn’t seem to be in there when we have visited.

My food came out cold. Had to send it back. I had spinach enchiladas and the spinach tasted like it was frozen. I picked it out and ate the corn tortillas and beans. All tasted canned. Not sure I would go again. Service ok but saw I didn’t eat much and didn’t inquire about it. They were prompt in bringing our bill tho.

The spinach enchiladas are outstanding! The BEST Margaritas anywhere!!! Great food and customer service, I recommend highly.

I’m stretching this one with 3 stars. I’d give more like 2. Anyway. It took a very long time to get our drink order taken. Zthe chips were a little on the stale side. Salsa is watery. I ordered the Pollo Loco. It was good and cooked well. The chicken had some fatty pieces in it though. It also came with tortillas, bit it took about 5 minutes for me to get them after my meal arrived. The wife got the El pastor. She said it was good but not the best she’s had. I did try it and it was good but I did bight onto a rock hard piece like bone. Which turned me off. The kids had nachos. They said they were good and the wife said the meat tasted like the no bean chili that nally makes. Odd… Staff is nice place is clean and they have a good beer selection for a good price.

My new favorite Mexican restaurant in town! I remember going in when it had first opened and met Pepe, at least he said he was lol. Had great service, the sangria, holy macro. You can’t go there without having it! My boyfriend loves the carne asada and the horchata is amazing! Always love coming here!

First of all, if you see a review for Los Pepe’s with less than four stars, don’t belive it. In a region not known for good Mexican food, this restaurant is the best. I’ve lived all over, traveled even more, and have tasted the gamut of regional Mexican dishes, as well as having had private lessons from home cooks with generations of training behind them. Also, I judge all Mexican restaurants by their molé. Los Pepe’s didn’t disappoint. In fact, it had been months since I’d had one I could finish, and there was nothing on this menu, which I sampled, that I didn’t like. It’s an outstanding restaurant, clean, decorated with some thought, and the service was better than any Mexican restaurant in Battle Ground. My only worry is that the well constructed, but practically empty Battle Ground Village will do them no favors as a client draw to an underused destination. I want this restaurant to succeed because it is a haven for those who crave great Mexican food in a region that has restaurants failing the task. I’m giving it five stars because I highly recommend it, and I think the lower ratings on its Unilocal page have been unfairly given by provincial palates. Trust Candace from Southern California. She knows!

The place is nice and clean and kept up. Some of the other mexican restaurants in Battle Ground look really shabby. The food is great also!

Having recently moved from Southern California, we’ve been desperately seeking a new spot for Mexican Food. We were pleasantly surprised at the authenticity of the food served at Los Pepe’s and will definitely be back. They have put some serious money into the place and the quality shows. The staff have been polite and helpful, both times we have visited. Although the cocktails were plenty strong, our only criticism would be to work on a little more hand-crafted cocktail taste, instead of prepared mixers. All-in-all, we’re glad to have another dinner option!

I was really looking forward to this place based on reviews from their other locations. Kind of a let down. Service was really slow and not attentive. My tacos were ok, but my son’s fajitas had very little meat, and dominated by onions. The salsa with the free chips was the highlight. Perhaps they need some time at this new location… I may go back in a few months to give them another shot.

Will not be going back again. The Margaritas were too sweet and weak. I ordered the grilled quail and what I got was a Cornish Game hen seared on the flat top! Who does that? The rice and beans were edible, but the best part of my meal was the chips and salsa. The taco truck by Battle Ground Produce makes way better food!

Our entire entrée tasted like white distilled vinegar. Was hoping for better as the place is so cute and I keep hoping this business park will kick in with we great places. BG has better choices though for Mexican food. We won’t be back.

Really enjoyed this little Mexican restaurant. It is located in the sad, overlooked, gem of a community in Battle Ground Wa, a.k.a. The Battle Ground Village. Really tasty food and a fun environment, however my only suggestion would be to work on the margarita strength even though it is very tasty it needs a little bit more booze.

Best«real» real Mexican food within 20 mile radius. Great atmosphere and friendly staff. I moved from from Texas a few years ago and this is the best Mexican place we’ve found in the area so far.

Great atmosphere, food was fantastic. I had the chicken burrito lunch special. Their beans are fantastic and I loves their chips & salsa. We’ll be back for sure, next time for dinner.

Just opened up in BG and was excited to try it. I was a little disappointed with what they had to offer. A good point is that I went there on a weekday about twenty minutes before closing time and they still served us. Interior looked really nice, new, and clean. There is also outdoor seating as well. Free chips&salsa was good. First I asked for recommendations and the waitress did not know the order of some of their items and got mixed up on which number combinations had which food items. We ordered the Combination #3 and the T-bone Mexicano(pictures below). The combination #3 with Beef Burrito & Beef enchilada was really sad. As you can see below it was the two items with rice and beans($ 10.95). The burrito came with ground beef and that was all in the filling. The enchilada had shredded beef with nothing else in the middle as well. There was none of the fillings you would expect from a burrito and was a let down. Meat and tortilla was all it was… The cheese and red sauce on top was a good addition for the dry meat that I had. Very disappointed. T-bone Mexicano($ 15.95) was a little better and actually came with a little portion of lettuce/salad. The steak was good but the peppers and garnishes with it was bitter and overcooked. When eating these dishes, it will slide around and spin on top of the glass tables they sit on and make your meal a pain to eat. Another problem I have is my bill. So the total should be about $ 30 with tip. I checked my credit card statement and I saw I was charged for $ 35. I decided not to bother with a few bucks that might have been added to my bill; but I feel a little fishy about it, so be careful and keep your receipts. Not sure if this is relevant, but my friend left his car unlocked parked right outside the restaurant, and found out he had his wallet stolen. So be careful of the area and the quality of the restaurant.

Food tasted alright but service was less then desirable. Both myself and my friend got sick after. Chalked the bad service up to it being only their second day but went back later for happy hour and had such rude service. Not going back a third time.

This is not good Mexican food! It’s just ok. Yes the salsa and chips are good, but the rest of it? Who uses top sirloin for carne asada? There are better options in town. Sorry guys…

We lucked out showing up around 6 on a Friday and beat the crowed. Within 5 mins the lobby was packed. Great menu and great food. Loved the pork carnitas and washed it down With a Delish Chee Chee. The only reason I didn’t give it a 5 is because our waiter seemed disorganized and clueless about what was on the menu. We will definitely will going back again.
