Love this place, friendly service and great bartenders. I like that it’s not crazy loud there like other places can be

Our waitress was very friendly. We ordered prime rib rare, me 12 oz and my husband 16 oz. She said rare was her favorite way. When we were served, the meat was well done(not even medium) and my husband got 12 oz instead of 16 oz he ordered. When we pointed those things out to the waitress, she came back with an older gentleman(or a manager?) who showed us two pieces of raw meat, one 12 and the other 16 oz. to show the difference in size. He said today they were out of rare prime rib, even medium rare as they are the popular cuts. My husband’s meat was definitely not the 16oz piece. The manager apologized for the wrong size and not having any more rare and got my husband the 16 oz.(medium) instead. I thought I could get away with the well done prime rib as I was hungry from a day hike. But when my daughter kept refusing to eat her dinner(we shared our dinner), I had no choice but return my well done 12 oz. I ordered rare ribeye instead. Both of our(re-done) pieces were good. Side dishes were good. But because of two re-orders, they messed up pure ending.

We tried again because we heard the menu had changed. It was much better. We had lunch and the food was good. The staff has always been friendly, and they were this time, as well. We went for lunch, but it looked like they might have an interesting happy hour? They have definitely changed for the better.

So, after 2 ½ years between visits we decided to try Bone’s again. I’ll admit that the ONLY reason to give them another try was discoveriing that we know the new manager, Colin Petersen, as he grew up in our neighborhood and went to school with my son. We also saw the job he did at a previous restaurant in Vancouver as manager. Well, he has definitely turned the rhinestone into a gem, worthy of more frequent visits. Service was excellent and the food was VASTLY improved compared to our previous visit. Our group of four shared two apps, including steak bites and onion rings. The latter aren’t my faves as they are HUGE chunks of onion and my preference is for lighter batter and thinner slices. The bites were pretty good though. My son had the prime rib and said it was in his top two for flavor and tenderness. My daughter had a «customized» burger and LOVEDIT. Son-in-law had a prime rib dip which he devoured in total. I, once again had the 16 oz rib eye with garlic mashed. The steak was pretty good. Flavor was great, tenderness — average, and cooked to a «T». A perfect medium rare. Two of us ate side Caesar Salads which once again were good. All in all the food was good, and that combined with the service will earn our patronage. The fact that their menu includes lower priced BBQ and burgers also helps assure our return. Fine job Colin!

Awesome service and excellent food. Great place for dinner or a group outing. The prices are reasonable, worth the good food.

First time trying after the menu change. The Good: Our server, Candace. We could tell she got slammed and they were short staffed when we were seated. She made up for it and was on top of it. A pro all the way. She kicked ass especially under the circumstances. A lot of the flavors were really good. The jalapeño lime cole slaw was fantastic, as were the baked beans. The mac and cheese was good, but could have used a bit more time under the broiler to crisp things up. Still, the flavor was great. We tried the fried pickles, which were good, but could have used a dipping sauce… maybe something Cajun inspired. Portions, including the whisker pour, were generous. The pickles are a heavy side though… and while they were good, I probably wouldn’t order again unless I was sharing amongst a group of at least 6. The bad: I hate to be critical, as I really want this place to succeed. I think they absolutely made the right choice with the menu change, but need to tighten things up a bit. My wife had the St. Louis Ribs… sauces were weak and the ribs were over cooked. I had the Kangaroo burger. asked for medium rare and got it well done. The avocado wasn’t ripe enough, nor was the tomato. The verdict: I still hope folks give it a try and give the place enough time, and well intentioned feedback, to work the kinks out. Again, service and ambiance were great and we’ll be back to check out the live music.

One of our local favorite restaurant and bar. Great place to meet with friends for a wonderful meal and drinks. Love their menu items. Happy hour items are excellent and priced well. Restaurant is very clean and atmosphere is warm and inviting. Staff is very friendly and we always feel welcomed as soon as we step inside the door. «Colin, we love the improvements. Will see you soon.» Joel and Hue

Table Service type restaurant My first and only visit to this favorite restaurant of my mother’s was actually met with many missteps I was hoping that through open communication with the management staff that the issues could be properly rectified, but I must disagree vehemently. I’m not one to look a «gifhorse in the mouth,» but with a all the missteps we faced on my mother’s special day I simply disagree that a $ 30 gift card is enough to motivate me to return… especially when the three of us spent $ 140 for the«experience!!» I ended up giving the gift card to my stepfather, but who knows if he’ll return either. None of us are opposed to dropping money on a great culinary experience, but unfortunately we did not even receive a good one here!

First time for us at Bones. We wanted to try something new to us and we were pleasantly surprised. Sat in the bar ordered a couple of beers they were nice and ice cold. Hubby got a buffalo burger and I got Ahi Tuna burger. Both were really tasty and nicely prepared. We too got the artichoke dip and homemade chips and they were fantastic(keep that one on menu)! Candice greeted us warmly and was wonderful through the entire dining experience. Only suggestion would be to add a side to the burgers like chips or fries. thanks for a great experience.

I wanna start off by saying I wanted this to be a great experience. Sad to say it was not. Went in for a family dinner there was 6 adults and a 6 yr old. Four of us went for the BBQ platter. You would think it was just a tasting of pulled pork, ribs and brisket. 2 small ribs, small scoop of pulled pork and 1 piece of brisket for $ 19.00!!! Taste was OK but it was gone before we could even enjoy it. Had Ahi tuna to start. Once again small amount. Honestly I felt like the place was going out of business and we were getting fed all that was left. There is more that happened but whats the point. I think you already get it. Food stunk!!!

Extremely unimpressed. Haven’t been to Bone’s in years, thought if give it a try. After all, it’s still open for business. Server was pleasant, service wasn’t great. Ordered HH and had to ask for corrections on bill. Just, eh.

Very difficult to explain how disgusted I am that I can say I ate here. Service are you kidding me was horrible and only tables for that overwhelmed waitress. Now the bar it had two customers as well, loud ones, drunk ones and obnoxious. Just me the hubby and my five year old, she learned a few new words. No kids menu, I should have left right then, nope I stayed. Ordered her a pulled chicken sandwich, figured hard to go wrong. It came on a plate with NOTHING else not even a garnish, just a tiny plate. She took a bite and cried, oh did they forget to tell us they accidentally put the jalapeño Cole slaw on her sandwich. Yea we sent it back and got her a burger, the one at McDonalds is bigger. Once again sitting on a plate all by itself. Restaurant is called Bones, yet my 22oz rib eye boneless? And way over cooked when rare was clearly ordered. But if all this is not bad enough and it was, I had to look at the sewage vent pipe thingy that runs outside the building, while I was eating. Obviously they have ripped the wall out where maybe an error was made while building the place, sheetrock unfinished it looks sickening. Please tell your wait staff that a RAG will clean that pipe if that want to bother to wipe it down when walking past it. Never to enter again, thanks for ruining a night out for us

First time here. Came for lunch. Wasn’t busy yet so my order was quick to the table. I decided to go adventurous and try for the first time a Kangaroo burger. Got slaw for the side. All and all was satisfied with the meal. Was little concerned about the pinkness of the burger but was told that’s how its suppose to be cooked. just like the bison, and elk burger. Medium rare like a good steak. Cooked more looses flavor as its a lean meat. Server was friendly and nice. My only con’s were I wish the burger had more seasoning on it as it was hard to tell if any was put on. Same goes with the slaw. Was hoping for a lighter farmers type slaw. All said and done I’ll be back to check out some of the other options. The menu is nice. I live in Salmon Creek and sick of the lack of options so quick drive to check out some of these new places in Battle Ground worth it!

Love a good steak and this is the best place to get one in Battle Ground. Bones is clean and has a cozy atmosphere. They have great pairing meals on holidays like Christmas, New Years etc. Last trip I tried their Happy Hour with a friend and it was excellent. Prices are great and lots of good food selections. I got the soft tacos and my friend got the Mozzarella sticks. They were more like bricks because they were Huge, the biggest I have ever seen. My friend and I went there every night we visited. I love it in the summertime because they hang beautiful flowers outside and it is perfect to sit out on the patio. Looking forward to another visit.

I don’t get to Battle Ground often and when I do Bones is my favorite place to eat. It was lunch today — their chicken brie sandwich with hot chai tea to warm MY cold bones. They have a nice bar but I didn’t drink. Check out the pictures of the sandwich I posted.

This place easily has the best steak North of the river. Took my mom here for the Mother’s Day brunch, the food was far better than we had right to expect for the modest price tag.

Attended the M.T. Head Brewing Brewmaster’s Dinner last night at Bone’s. My wife and I’s first trip, but went with my parents who visit fairly regular. Have to say, LOVED the food. Well, can’t say I truly loved the marrow bone, that was a new food for me, had it as part of the dinner, can’t say it’s something I would order on my own. Atmosphere was inviting, staff was friendly, helpful, and responsive. Especially impressed with how timely each course was served, not an easy feat to serve 15 people the same dishes at the same time. We will definitely be returning!
