I want to give a big«shout out» to David at Radio Shack! Four days ago we went to Radio Shack to solve a problem with our cell phone port. David gave us multiple options that we could pursue, but warned that due to the cell phone device we were using… pursuing those options might be «risky.» We pursued every option he gave us and ended up right back with David who ultimately solved our problem at the same cost and less risk. Customer service is something that no longer exists for the most part. David provided EXCELLENT customer service and at the end of the day… although he provided alternatives to our particular challenge, we ended up back at Radio Shack purchasing the technology he originally suggested. Thank you DAVID for giving us ALLTHEINFORMATION to make an informed decision as consumers. Next time, I won’t visit five different locations to learn what you educated me on in the first visit. Everything you said was true and at the end of the day when we are talking risk vs. benefit… your solution was the best and least expensive. I am so tired of everyone trying to sell you something regardless of the outcome. David didn’t do that. He gave me options and informed me of the risks. I pursued the options he gave me, but his original counsel was the absolute truth. Next time, I will ask him for his opinion and won’t waste my time with the alternatives. He knows his business and he is fair and honest in his business practice. I would recommend ANYONE to Bastrop Radio Shack for their technology woes. Listen to the man. He is an expert and won’t steer you astray. He will provide options that don’t profit his business but at the end of the day… You will be back there purchasing what he originally offered. Radioshack does not have alot of stuff like they used to have, but the service is the best I have seen for any Radioshack, the store manager in Bastrop is very helpful, he also makes sure to give you as much info as you need. He really tries to sovle any each you have. 5 stars for these guys.

It’s no big surprise that RadioShack still sucks in a lot of departments. Hence the name is definitely a misnomer. I’d also like to state that this review isn’t for this particular RadioShack. The dude that works here every time I’ve shown up has been helpful. I can see his frustration when I show up and need something and they don’t have it. Yet he will provide me with information of various adaptors I’ve not seen before in order to help me. RadioShack barely sells anything Radio. When it comes to electronics, well good damn luck unless you want a kit or common parts. If one needs anything outside of the normal«box» you might as well hunt down the damn things in China and just wait three weeks to have them shipped to you. It’s a shame that more people aren’t into electronics. If they were RadioShack would not just be a glorified cell phone store with a few computer peripherals. Then again America is getting dumbed down severely. Off to the random vendors of Amazon, eBay and AlliBaba to find yet another cable that I know no store in America will carry.
