Great place with friendly staff. the original Philly was delicious and so were the onion rings. My grandma got a burger and said it was amazing and reminded her of the old malt shop days when the burgers were made of quality meat. we will definitely be going back

So not good not good at all. First off the map via Unilocal sent me to the wrong location. So I called and got the directions. Got the directions and headed to the restaurant. I got to the restaurant 15 mins before it closed. There was one lady who ordered right before me and then me and my husband stood at the counter ready to order and no one acknowledge us or even took out order. Even asked can we order. And still no response. So can’t talk about the food because I could not even order anything. I totally felt like even they we not closed they were closed in their head.

I have been dining here 2014. The Wife and I were hungry for burgers and found this place. It’s off hasler and the east bound service road. It’s down the road from some place with arches and one with a bell. Do yourself a favor and skip both. I read another reviewing saying that the lady with dark hair is rude. I experienced a little of this my first visit(to go order). My experience was more her attitude it seemed. We got passed it pretty quick though. I recall it being cold outside and her mothering me about no coat. I could have been an ass but hey she seemed genuine. I took the burgers and fries home and my Wife and I ate… what a gut bomb. I’m not complaining just saying that eating here hits the spot, rather it hits a couple. The food is good, we’ve eaten burgers, cheeseburger, Philly cheese steak and the grilled chicken sandwich. All equally good and fulfilling. My Wife’s family visited in May and we laughed at each of them loving the food but not being able to finish. The burger patties are tender, veggies always fresh and sweet tea is on point for flavor. The place is what consistency is. Give them a try and you’ll be glad you did.

Just had the«authentic» with onion rings and wow. Sandwich was full and tasty. Bread was soft yet crispy and the onion rings were some of the best I’ve ever had. Was satisfied with what I paid(about $ 8). I’ll need to come back here again sometime and check for consistency but today was flawless.

My family has lived in Bastrop for over two years and boy am I sorry we didn’t try this delicious restaurant sooner! It is impeccably clean and the service is efficient, friendly and the food is fantastic!!! Can you say Authentic Philly Cheesesteak? Go for the meal deal and you won’t be disappointed. My son ate all of his kids meal, including mini corn dogs, fries and a soda and we couldn’t pass up the amazingly delicious homemade brownie for desert.

This place seemed like a great little pit stop in the way to Houston until we tried to order the food. The dark haired woman that took our order was rude and when I asked what cheesesteak this place was best known for, her reply was I don’t know… well I do know how many stars you get 3. Five stars for three food and one star for the rude service. It is a very laid back atmosphere with a selection of over 10 different types of cheesesteaks to choose from. They also offer salads and vegetarian options for the more health conscious eaters. I doubt I will give them another chance but if I do, I hope the service will have improved.

My brother recommended this place because their burgers were so good, but I had to try the cheesesteak sandwich. I wasn’t disappointed! The Popular Cheesesteak sandwich and curly fries were really good. Not the best I’ve had, but very good especially considering location. Jalapeño poppers were your typical frozen appetizer but good. Great hole-in-the wall place to stop on your way to Austin. I love Buccees, but this may be my new stop.

Good cheesesteak. Fast, friendly but sometimes busy. I have no complaints, so easy 5 stars. Try the ‘Texan’.

Tucked back in the corner of a strip center this little hole in the wall served up a sandwich that really got my attention. I don’t go through Bastrop often but when I do be sure that I will be stopping again.

They have THE best queso fries! I try the queso everywhere I go(if they have it) and this is definitely the best queso I have ever had. I only live a couple miles away so I definitely have to fight the urge to order these all the time. But I try to save them for an occasional treat. The order is huge for the price and I always have leftovers to reheat later. The iced tea is really good too. Haven’t had the sandwiches but I hear they are good. I’m always surprised this place isn’t really busy but I don’t think a lot of people know about it. It’s definitely worth a try IMO.

Excellent value, great cheesesteaks and curly fries. Fast friendly service. The«Favorite» is the best — cheesesteak, mushrooms, jalapeños, onions and cheese.

This place was a surprise. Was out riding the motorcycle and we ended up here somehow. We hadn’t eaten for about 10 hours so the food here definitely helped. There was a bunch of lout annoying people here, which I despise, but I would return even if they were back.

BEST ‘fast food’ in Bastrop, hands down. Large variety of toppings to choose from and every time we’ve been the steak is perfectly cooked and tender suiting in a fresh roll that is the perfect combination of soft and slightly chewy with just enough crustiness to hold up through the sandwich. Add in the fact you get an 8″ sub with a choice of spiced curly fries or chips and queso for $ 7.50 and I’m sold! It’s a family favorite for a quick inexpensive meal.

I guess the last two times I ate here was an exception to everyone else’s experience but this place sucks. The cheesesteak is the worse I’ve had. The bread tastes like freezer burn and I couldn’t see the filing inside my bread it was so lame. C’mon guys. I’d eat here weekly if you get it together. Please

Unassuming mom & pop cheesesteak shop. Everything I’ve eaten there was good and afford ably priced. The dining area is very small and spartan, but about what you’d expect for a place like this. Very friendly service by the owners who clearly care about running a good local business. Worth stopping in.

I eat a lot of cheesesteaks and know what I like. This place is clean, friendly, and serves good food but a chicken cheesesteak served with chunks of chicken is not going to hit the spot for me. It was a good and well made sandwich but chunks of chicken is just wrong. The fries with queso was good but I was surprised that they were curly fries. They do give you plenty of queso which is great. A good place but could be better.

Great little mom and pop sandwich shop. It’s a hidden gem in the jungle of chain restaurants along the highway in Bastrop. The food is prepared when you order. I had the chicken cheese steak and it was great. Next time I’ll try the regular cheese steak and report back. The store is very clean and well organized. They’re a little hidden from view in a back corner of a small shopping center on a side street just off the highway. Once people know it’s there, it should be a local hit.

Good food with great prices and decent variety. We had the Philly Cheesesteak, grilled chicken sandwich, curly fries and onion rings. All were hot, fresh and tasty!

Great combo, cheesesteak, fries and a drink for $ 5.00. Can’t beat that.
