My wife and I stopped in after a neighborhood meeting and got carryout, and we were blown away by the food. I got the jerk chicken and she got the curry– both came with peas and rice(red beans and rice, they call beans peas in Jamaica) as well as delicious stewed cabbage(my word, not theirs). Portions were very generous for the price(both dishes were $ 10), the drumstick in my jerk chicken was about the size of my forearm. And the jerk chicken was super spicy and super tasty. In fact the entire dish was very well balanced, the chicken came with a bbq sauce that tasted strongly of tamarind, but in a very good way. My wife’s curry chicken was equally as generous and very tasty– the curry wasn’t really hot as much as it had a very warm quality. I don’t know enough to speak to authenticity, but the food here is really tasty and a good value. The bar itself(and it’s really more a bar than a restaurant) is clean, well kept and has a nice stratosphere. I’m only withholding one star because the drink prices are a little high but overall it’s a very pleasant experience and the food is well worth a trip across town if you’re not lucky enough to live a block away.

Yummy! I drove a good distance for this food based on a recommendation and I was not disappointed. The curry chicken was delicious! The food is prepared while you wait and everything was fresh. I also found out that they offer lunch time delivery, which is good because the only bad thing is that parking can be tricky. I wish there was a parking lot. There are literally 4 parking spaces AND a bus stop in front of this business. The spaces are also shared with 5 other businesses in the same block, which makes it tough to find parking.

Savannah’s has definitely earned my repeat business. Can’t wait to go back. I was really impressed with the Jerk Chicken. Extremely moist and just the right amount of spicy hot flavoring. Ordered the CoCo bread as well — very delicious. Red beans and Rice was very good, as well as the cabbage. I wish I had ordered a beef patty(I nibbled /tried my wife’s) and was really blown away by how good it tasted. Overall, I’m really impressed by the quality of the food offered. I was absolutely stuffed by the $ 10 combo portion sizes, and had plenty left for dinner left-overs. So great value too. Highly recommended! Feels great to support local businesses too.

I’m from Toronto and am used to good Caribbean food, so when I saw this food truck at the corner of my building I was excited to give it a try. For $ 10 you get your choice of meat, rice, and cabbage. I ordered the chicken. The service was fast and friendly, and the food is delicious. It also helps that the servings are large! If you see this truck, make sure to give it a try!

I hardly consider this Caribbean food. The jerk chicken was so so but the sauce they serve it with taste like it was out of a jar. The rice was bland and taste like it was boil in bag and they just added the beans afterwards. The cabbage was over cooked and prepared like it was meant to be served at a Sunday dinner. I’m so glad I didn’t try to curry I’m sure I would have been highly disappointed!

This was my first visit and I’d patronize again! During my visit I went with the Red Snapper. Anyone that’s had Red Snapper ala a Caribbean spot or any island spot for that matter knows they cook it whole. At 10 bucks, you can’t beat what I got in my to go container. 1 whole red snapper fish with cabbage, rice & beans. I’m so stuffed. The fish was cooked to perfection and had the right amount of crunch on the skin. The cabbage was served my fave way as well. Not too soft and not too al dente. I will say the rice and beans was a bit on the bland side but, when paired with the cabbage and snapper… delightful. They had other island fare, such as curry & jerk chicken. If you’re in the Baltimore area or are at one the food gatherings, do not pass!
