Look if you’re coming here to customize your sub like subway, then dont bother. They do have a level of customization to where you can add hots, sprouts, mustard(to those sandwiches that do not have it), and extra sauce but that’s about it. Dont expect too much here as the focus is on speed and efficiency. Certainly do not expect someone to wait on you hand and foot. While your ordering your sandwich the line people are listening and already making it while you pay. Go here because it’s quick and cheap. That’s it.

As everyone has previously stated, it’s a fast food joint so I never expect much. It’s cheap-ish and close to my work so I can walk there for a quick bite. My issue is the customer service. When walking in I saw that the boy taking orders was texting on his phone, I normally don’t mind because no one was in the shop so who am I to frown upon a quick text while you have a moment, I stood in front of him for a good minute before he looked up from his phone to take my order. He listened to my order while continuing to text. Once my order was placed a woman behind me ordered 4 sandwiches, she had received her entire order and walked out the door while I sat for another 5 minutes until they realized I was still sitting there waiting for mine.

It’s Ok — certainly better than Subway, but it would be pretty hard NOT to be better than Subway + it’s a pretty cheap option for Harbor East if nothing else. Overall the ingredients were fresh and the service was fast but the amount of meat was pretty weak. My ‘Vito’(italian cold cut sub) was more lettuce and onions than anything else.

Even though this is a massive chain — I’m happy to have another inexpensive lunch option now open near my work. This place solidly comes in at under $ 10 bucks with a drink and a bag of chips… but what do you really get? The«french bread» that comes standard(you have to ask, and pay 50 cents to upgrade to multi grain) is the worst part of the place. Its fluffy, tasteless, and just really not all that great. Kind of like a slight upgrade from a giant hot dog bun. You can tell the reason it costs the same to get your sandwich as an Unwich(no bun) as it does to get it with one. Okay — this is fast food, and its cheap, so the bread is about what you’d expect. My favorite thing about about JJs is the sizes. The bread is 8 inches, which solves the Subway problem of me wishing my sandwich was a bit larger, but a footlong being way too much food. You can always upgrade to a «Club» — which is not a club, it’s just the same sandwich, but everything in it doubled. The innards of the sandwich are pretty standard fare for a chain-sub shop. Nothing amazing so far, nothing terrible either. I would honestly order anything of the menu, and expect to get a perfectly fine lunch. The location its self is great. The staff was friendly, the sandwich was made insanely fast. They even have both sweetened and unsweetened ice t(so you can mix it to get the right sweetness). Heads up: Apparently if you’re getting your stuff to go, it doesn’t come bagged — so you have to grab your own bag from the back. Will I go back — probably. Its so close and cheap and fast. Would I go out of my way… well that’s the genius of JJs, they seem to be everywhere so you don’t have to… but no, I won’t be craving it at any point.
