Avenue

The previous reviewer was spot on!!! I went in to get a couple of shirts for work, never was greeted, and I felt ignored. I’m usually fine with that, not liking to be followed or harassed when shopping. I found a shirt that was overpriced but I figured I could wear it to more then work, a good basic. I went to the checkout and was asked 5 times about the credit card! 5 TIMES!!! Even a younger employee walked off looking embarrassed. I was polite to refuse the first couple of times, but finally had enough and said «I’m done!» And walked out without purchasing a damn thing!!! I will never shop there again and plan to pass the word along to anyone who mentions shopping there. I honestly do NOT see how they are still in business.

As I’ve said before, if I could give zero stars I would. This store is so unfortunate. The shopping experience is not any good, I don’t think I have ever had a good experience here. And maybe I should learn a lesson but they are one of the only stores that sells a staple piece in my wardrobe. First of all they never seem to be open, at least they never look open. When you go in the store seems a bit crowded for a PLUS SIZE store. The shop girls usually seem miserable or bored or the opposite and want to be over helpful. The next problem is the prices! I know the store doesn’t have control over the msrp but avenue needs to lower their prices or offer more coupons. This brings me to my next point, I went in to get the staple piece I wanted and to my delight I saw it was on sale. Being the thrifty and I will admit frugal at times person I am I wanted to go online to find an extra discount as I’ve done before with them. No coupons to be found other than online coupons but since I was already in the store and they had my size I decided it was worth it to go ahead with my purchase. Yet when I went to check out the items price was higher than the sign said! I was disappointed because I wasn’t not prepared to spend the amount of money that it rang up as. So I left without my item. The other thing I’d like to mention is the credit card and those stupid magazines. Be warned that when you go to check out you will be heckled about the credit card. Even after refusing several times they will pull out a calculator to try and convince you and if you still say no they try many other ways to convince you. It makes me never want to buy another item in there again. And the magazines… I have never been more harassed by a store. They tell you that because you bought something you get 3 subscriptions to magazines, when you refuse they try more tactics to get you to change your mind! Its awful and leaves the customer exhausted after the whole ordeal is over. Get a clue avenue and change your ways.
