Just north of the Mad Greek(a landmark in Baker) on Highway 127 headed north toward Death Valley you will find Juan’s Tacos. You will have to search just a little for the white building. This is a little specialty shop, only open on Thursday evening from 5PM until the food or customers run out. Usually the food runs out well before all the customers. Juan’s tacos are authentic Mexican tacos, totally unlike the kind you find at Taco Bell or Del Taco. They only serve tacos, nothing but tacos … The meat is cooked right in front of you on an outdoor grill. You have three choices of meat including carne asada and tongue. The flavor of each meat is unique and just supurb tasting. The tacos are piles of meat placed on a double 3 inch corn shells placed flat on the plate. They are not folded like the«americanized» version. All tacos are $ 1.00. Once you have your plate of tacos, you will find bowls of onions, red onions, cilantro, radish, and two types of suace, red and green. You can fix your tacos the way you would like… Customized tacos — how can you go wrong … They have take out, take home … if you do not want to experience the 100 degree outdoor temperatures i nBAker. A totally authentic mexican experience that takes place in an outdoor setting just off the highway. You would be most fortunate to experience this once in a lifetime experience.
