I got the Carne asada taco my husband got carnival taco. The meat was dry and barely warm. Tortilla didn’t taste fresh. The table was super sticky.

Really? How does this place have the kind of real estate it maintains? We figured the only reason it exists is because it generally doesn’t have to worry about creating frequent patrons. My kids asked out loud while poking at their burritos, «Ewww, what IS that?» My wife is generally the«glass half full» diner, yet she was muttering, «this place is bad… just bad. I chose poorly.» We almost conceded completely and were about to say, «ok kids, lunch next store at Lloyd’s Candy Shoppe.» And give me back my grape flavored Magic Marker you used to scribble the«caSH OnlY»(sic) notepaper-sign. I know we’re in the quaint village of Avalon, but«cash only» in 2014?

Chunky lady at counter was rude and had a stink face the whole time we ate there which made eating very awkward. Food was ehh, real plain. No flavor

Got a couple tacos it was nice that they came with chips as well. They were good size and the price was okay, would recommend it for a quick bite but theyre nothing special

If you want décor go to Bed Bath and Beyond. This is a hole in the wall Mexican joint with hole in the bank account prices, but it’s still cheapest Mexican in Avalon. Well, unless you count my friend Jorge Medina who saves money by using both sides of the toilet paper. Anyway, we got a plate of nachos that was pretty tasty and gut-busting, piled high with cheddar and beans, and the salsa bar was good, with salsa verde, diced onions, and cilantro. A perfect thing to keep the days worth of drinking down during the boat ride home. The name is misleading, so put away the pile of ones.

Quesadilla was greasy. Guacamole tasted fishy. Sour cream was bland, not sour. Chips were crisp and salsa was good. Décor and service, missing. Overall disappointing.

Took a chance on this place(didn’t have any reviews), so I’ll report my findings. I had the chicken burrito, and wifey had the steak burrito. Ingredients tasted fresh, and the salsa bar was great. Chicken was a bit overcooked and steak was greasier than expected for the price. Lots of fresh guac. The biggest downside was the price. The burritos were $ 9, which is insane for a hole-in-the-wall Mexican joint. This would be an easy 4 stars for $ 5-$ 6 burritos, but I’ll ding it a star for the price. Décor is lazy, but that’s pretty much expected for this type of place.
