The ice cream was great and the service was better. The store is right on the corner and easy to find. Very good place for a treat.

Horrible horrible service! They looked so miserable and unhappy they were there and mad when we asked a question. The man who helped gave us an attitude and seems annoyed when we wanted ice cream so we thought he had a bad day. So we think it’s just him. We go over and the pay the girl we asked her about the candy in front and she rolled her freaking EYES! I was so upset with this freaking lady! I told my boyfriend forget it she obviously doesn’t want to help us and just payed for the ice cream. Do NOTGOHERE. There is another ice cream shop close. They need to adjust their customer service at least be decent if you don’t want to smile you don’t have to give attitude. They need to change if they want people coming back. They probably don’t care about customer service for people to come back since they know only tourist come. SMH.

It’s located at the corner of the main Pedestrian area on the beach side shore, so you can find easily. There’re many of candies and taffies. It’s available to get tasty of samples for ice cream. What we had was Mint chip, Cotton candy and Chocolate chip which were great! Under the Hot, Shine Sun, enjoy your flavors! *Free ice cream for your Birthday!

«YES Lloyd!» –(See what I did there? lol!) My sweet tooth made me do it, I basically ate my weight in candy, and I have no remorse! Can you tell I’m still excited? So, Lloyds of Avalon Confectionery had me at the GIANT ice cream sundae sitting outside beckoning me in and almost daring me to grope it for a photo!(For the life of me, I just cannot pass up a good photo op.) Anywho, Lloyds offers its patrons a cute, vintage-style confectionary that has an amazing collection of candy and great service with a smile! They also give free samples of the salt water taffy that they make right in front of you, and boy is it good! And why would they do that you ask? … Because they know it’s good! I’m not even a taffy girl and I bought a bag if that tells you anything. All in all, I had an experience here that I’ll never forget and it all started with a giant metal sundae!

I’ve been here twice in one month and the service is absolutely horrible. It’s not just one person who’s rude, all the staff behaves as though they don’t care. The management must not either. Their ice cream is nothing special, it’s just Dreyer’s you get at any grocery store. With competition at Scoops and CC Gallagher’s who carry real Gelato, this place ought to step it up. I’m surely not coming back here

The shop was nice but their iced coffee was absolute swill. It was sour. Not bitter, sour. No amount of creamer or sugar helped.

Free ice cream on your birthday! Their ice cream(and cone!!!) are the best, the caramel apple is to die for and all at good price, not exp at all. The staff are super friendly too! We went to their store everyday while on the island! Will try their candies next time. More videos at: — YouTube(WinnieTriplets) -

Cute little candy shop in Avalon. Lots of taffy choices and candies. They also have ice cream. I wanted to order their famous Apple Pie ice cream but they ran out of apple filling. Would’ve loved to taste that. Hopefully next time it’ll be available.

Lots of candy and taffy but I couldn’t say it was any different or any better than your average candy shop. The selection of candy was huge– from chocolates to chili mangos to gummy candies to sour belts and finally, taffies. Furthermore, they had chocolate covered fruits and nuts, caramel apples, and more. They are supposed to be known for their taffy but the flavors and texture were nothing special for me. I was also not such a fan of their prices which came out to about $ 14/lb of candy. Fun shop with lots of sweets but everything was just alright.

Ice cream is what we came here for. General selection of flavors. Credit payment accepted, so that’s a huge plus! Tried a brownie, which was delicious. Their banana split stole the show tho. Enjoy!

I will give this store props for making their candy in house(even their ginger candy that I was searching for after the boat ride which made me crazy sea sick). This place has candy, coffee, ice cream, and happy staff. The taffy is a hit or miss where some really taste like the flavor their tag says on the bin, whereas other taffy taste like nothing. The ice cream brand is dryers which is nothing exciting for those who are accustomed to those private ice cream shops with extravagant flavors all around California. The drinks here are okay. Hot chocolate is made with powder stirred with a plastic spoon, but a drip is only 50cent. But like I said in the beginning, thank goodness for their ginger candy! Only place I could find it at.

Every time I walk into a candy shop, this song just goes off in my head: Man, no offense to the people that live on this island but Catalina is pretty darn boring. If you’re not doing outdoor excursions then you might as well stay at home. However, Lloyd’s is one of the coolest places we walked across. Outside, you notice a salt taffy machine making home made taffy. I decided to go for 1lb or 72 pieces for $ 15. I grabbed all kinds of goodys. My favorite was the strawberry kiwi. Yum. The taffy tastes amazing. It literally melts in your mouth! Overall, everything is overpriced but the taffy here is worth it. Like 50 cent said, this taffy«melts in your mouth and not in your hand.»

Literally none of the girls working smiled or looked happy by any means. This store is just like a typical Sweet Factory candy store in the malls with its candy bins filled with the same types of candy(sour belts, gummies, etc) You do get a free single scoop of ice cream if it’s your birthday.(it’s just Dreyers, nothing special). This place is good for if you need a quick sweet fix I suppose?

Free ice cream on your birthday! Who wouldn’t love it! Their servings are big too! I also bought a Carmel almond Apple which was SSSSOOO good! They have a taffy machine on display that makes the taffy for hours. It was pretty cool to see. It doubles as a candy store too. Their prices are a bit high, but appropriate in accordance to everything else here on Catalina island.

One of the yummiest ice cream spot here at the island!!! Fresh waffle cones and the most creamiest ice cream! :P Long line but it moves pretty fast! My favorite is the coconut pineapple!!! Do stop by here if you’re planning on a trip to Catalina island!

Almost everyone knows Lloyd’s who has ever been to Catalina and they have come a long way! You’ll know it Lloyd’s because they have a GI-NORMOUS ice cream cone outside the shop and they are located right on the corner in the middle of the main thoroughfare. Now I going to seriously date myself again… BACK in the DAY Lloyds ONLY had a few flavors of salt water taffy, NOT the multitude like that have now. When I was a kid my fam had a house here and we would spend summers on the island. It was GREAT because I could run all over and my parents were pretty lax’d in the supervision because everyone knew us so if I did anything they would just tell on me after they reprimanded me and then I’d get it again from my parnets… NOFUN, but that was parenting back in the day! Anywho I digress… This place had about 3 or so flavors of the taffy… Chocolate, vanilla, and strawberry. I want to say one more flavor which was NEW at the time but I can’t remember. I think it was like butterscotch or something. THAT was it! I remember they had some other candy and ice cream but nothing like today! Lloyd’s is OFF the CHAINNOW! They NOTONLY have WAAYYY more then 3 or 4 taffy flavors but the do ice cream all different ways and have theses DELISH waffle cones that are NOT hard as a rock. They also sale other types of candy like Jelly Belly’s that are separated by flavor and color and you can buy by the lb. Cookies and pasties and other YUMMYDELISHSUGARY things that will rot out your teeth. hahahah! If it is your BDay they are one of the island shops that will give you a ¼lb of candy FREE with purchase which is why I was here or you can get the FREE(my fav F-word) scoop of cream for you BDay as well with NOPURCHASE. I like Taffy and there’s is pretty good! Always FRESH and I enjoy watching them make it right in the shop FRONT window. VERYCOOL and it reminds me of the taffy maker in Narita airport in Japan. Once I got my BDay candy I went to the counter and whispered to the lady it was my BDay so I could get my discount. She was SUPERNICE and rang me up and didn’t make me wear that silly Ribbon but I did have to show it to her. I paid the then went to grab some lunch LEAVING my taffy on the counter. After lunch I noticed it was missing so I went BACK to the shop and she had it waiting for me under the counter. SONICE! We chuckled and she handed over the goodies! PREFECT little treat after my lunch! Lloyd’s is GREAT if you like sweats and they are not terribly expensive. YUM! Things can get pretty expensive at Catalina between the boat ride over, eating, staying the night and all the activities they have over there NOW so ANYTIME you can get a discount TAKEIT!

Great service! Can’t complain at all because they are part of the Catalina birthday island freebie and they too wished me a happy birthday and filled my tummy with sugary joy! I I stopped in on my way back to the Catalina Express. I waited in line like everyone else and when it came to my turn I just noted it was my birthday to which I was carded and and then wished«Happy Birthday!» — can you tell I love this part? hehe Anyway then I was told I could have a scoop of any flavor in a cup or cone. I chose my tried and true favorite(Mint Choc Chip) on a Waffle cone of course — loved the big chicks of chocolate and creamy minty goodness. YUM! I think it would have come to about $ 4 which is pretty standard for frozen dessert where I’m from but again, mine was free cuz it was my birthday so that made my visit that much sweeter — PUN Intended! ;) It’s located right on the main drag of stores so I would absolutely recommend stopping in for a cone to enjoy on the beach. Mmm beaches and ice cream… Two of my favorite things.

Lloyd’s of Avalon Confectionary is a little candy/fudge/ice cream shop located off of Crescent. They also have fresh taffy for purchase, and other sweets for your sweet tooth. This place is listed on the ‘birthday special list’ where you can pop right in and get a scoop of ice cream of your choice! They serve up Dreyer’s, which seem to be the preferred company for the Islanders. I had the Mint Chocolate Chip, and it was creamy and minty, and it was a nice little treat to have while walking around the main streets to window-shop. +free scoop of ice cream of your choice on your birthday: D +offers Dreyer’s
