The 1st time I visited this place it was awesome and authentic. I fell in love with the rock and roll and now a few years later i tried again and its ot anywhere near the standards of the place i fell inlove with.

Leo is awesome and makes AMAZING rolls. The place is a great location, close to work and we really like the food. This location is a BYOB, which is a definite plus. We brought our own drinks, settled in for the evening and just hung out, drinking and enjoying sushi and great company. We have had the Rock’n roll, Texan roll, Texas Surf & Turf roll and Summer time roll. All are so great! The Green Texas Sauce is so freakin good! The prices are excellent, the food is so good and Leo & Faith are just the best. We love it.

The menu is small, which is great since it is coming from a trailer. One guy takes your order and then prepares your roll. It takes about 10 minutes to get your order if there is not a wait. The rolls are small and so is the amount of fish. I had the trio roll and sunshine. The rolls were pretty good – not mind-blowing. The selection is relatively simple, the price is reasonable. The rolls were well-executed — wrapped properly and the sushi rice was properly prepared. The fish was not as fresh as it could be, but met my expectations. The sushi is better than grocery sushi, but definitely doesn’t compare to nicer sushi restaurants. I wouldn’t go out of my way to save a buck, but if you are in the area, this place won’t disappoint. Try them and you will see. PS. If you are eating a cooked fish or «spicy» anything, chances are it’s not the freshest.

This place was decent but I probably will only order take-out from now because there were BEES everywhere. I went on a hot Sunday afternoon and I think the sugar from the snow cone trailer next to it attracted every type of bee imaginable. I could barely enjoy my meal because I was constantly running away from them and I actually screamed out loud one time when one landed on my hand. As far as the actual food went, the rolls were delicious but I was very disappointed in their box sushi. They put way too much rice and barely any fish. That’s the oldest trick in the book! But, you definitely can’t beat the price and I would probably compare it to the sushi at Whole Foods or Central Market.

Sushi from a trailer sounds weird, I know. When I tell friends(who don’t live in Austin) they all look at me like I’m just asking for a case of food poisoning. Sushi A-Go-Go is fantastic, for trailer sushi AND brick-and-mortar sushi. I’ve never gotten anything here that I didn’t like or was disappointed in the freshness or the quality of the ingredients. I live around the corner, so I’ve probably been here upwards of 20+ times. Every time I order, I get sushi that is carefully made and beautifully presented. I almost always get the vegetable roll, the mango and avocado roll, and the dragon roll. As with all freshly made food, it does take a fair amount of time(about 10 – 15 min) so call your order in if you’re really in a hurry and get a sno-cone from next door while you wait. Sometimes their credit card machine is down so bring cash just in case.

This sushi is really good, and the fact that it comes out of a trailer is just an extra Austin-y bonus. I had the Sunshine roll(salmon, mango, avocado) which was fresh and delicious. The mango really adds a nice brightness and textural contrast to the creamy avocado and silky salmon. I also had the BBQ Eel roll, which was pretty standard, but also yummy. The good thing about this location is that it has its own parking lot. The bad thing about this location is the wait. i came on a Sunday afternoon and there was only one guy(who was really nice and very apologetic) working the trailer. One guy taking orders AND making the sushi. Yeah, I felt bad for him. In any case, it was a perfect Austin day so I didn’t mind waiting.

First, you must understand something about me — I LOVE sushi. I mean, it’s like borderline fetish. But this place… yeah, more like Sushi A No-No. I don’t get why everyone loves this place. Mediocre sushi at a not-so-cheap-for-trailer-food price. I’ve been there one time, and I won’t be returning. I was highly unsatisfied with their menu options, so I tried to substitute an item. The sushi guy looked at me with a look I will never forget, that basically read, «What do you mean you want to CHANGE a menu item? How dare you ask to ALTER one of the ingredients!!» Wow. Sorry, dude. I paid my $ 10 or however much it was. I remember thinking, «Well darn, I could’ve gone right down the road and gotten chips, hot sauce, creamy jalapeño sauce, AND an entrée item at Chuy’s less than this.» Oh well, won’t make that mistake again.

They now have Japanese Curry. My life is complete. Even though it’s just veggies, it’s still awesome. All they need now is to add chicken to the curry and DONE.

Come on, really? Sushi out of a food trailer? Usually I’d stay the heck away from this, but with the good reviews and a sudden hankerin’ for sushi, we hit Sushi A-Go-Go up. You know what? Pleasantly surprised! I got the Sunshine Roll, which was Mango, Avocado and Salmon, and was a great sushi roll. The service was great, and he made everything by hand. Can’t beat it. Darn good sushi from a trailer, Sushi A-Go-Go A Yes-Yes from me!

Imagine that it’s been several days since you last had sushi, and you are dying, DYING from withdrawal. Your wallet is a little light lately because of some unavoidable expenses so you are having to stay in a little more often. You’re at the grocery store and you walk by the sushi corner. You double take and study the very mediocre if not iffy looking sushi combo. Only $ 7!!! You reach out to grab it and — STOPPPPPPP!!! Don’t even think about it. You are way above grocery store sushi. Your wallet might not be, but you are. Get your butt to Sushi-a-go-go. This place is shockingly good for a sushi food trailer. Naturally, when I hear«sushi» and«trailer» in the same sentence, it invokes little more confidence than«sushi» and«HEB». However, I received a tip from a sushi chef at Imperia and decided that I had to try it out. I was kind of boring, I only got a spicy dynamite and BBQ eel roll. They were both very good and the spicy tuna mixture in the spicy dynamite was one of the tastiest I have ever had. Lack of nigiri is a low spot for me, but when you get passed that, it’s great for what it is: fresh sushi rolls fast and cheap. I have no arguments with that.

It’s the only place in town where you can get a sushi birthday cake. I was treated to one on my Valentine’s-birthday last year; they even cut the fish pieces into little hearts. It wasn’t the greatest tasting thing in the world– but based on my experience last night? Quality’s gone up. You pay about $ 3.50 for wide variety of somewhat inventive veggie rolls(such as cucumber and plum paste) and sit outside. They don’t state that they’re BYO but my table wasn’t the only one with a wine bottle on it… Which brings me to confirming that you indeed *CAN* open a bottle of wine with a shoe. You see, they don’t have corkscrews and the table next to us asked if we had one(since winetastic here was slamming a bottle of her own Sauv Blanc). It’s the one time I do not have one on my person so I casually remark, «Well I saw this Youtube video of a French dude who opened a bottle of wine with a shoe-» and the guy jumps on it. I explain the how and I seriously see the dude with the wine bottle cradled by his Birkenstock, slamming it against the deck… It took a while and they eventually found a corkscrew but it was totally working. So words of advice? Bring cash(they don’t take cards), bring booze, and if you forget your corkscrew make sure you can pull up Youtube on your phone and take off a shoe.

I officially love Sushi A-Go-Go! I bought two coupons from Living Social that expired today and being the slacker that I am waited until yesterday to start using them. Well, lucky for me that meant going to lunch here two days in a row! Yesterday I had the Sunshine roll and Summer time roll. Both were deliciously fresh! I loved the hint of sweetness from the mango in the Sunshine roll and the spicy sauce on top of the Summer time roll. Today I mixed it up a little and tried Dynamite roll and the Surf and Turf roll. OOOO I hit the jackpot with the Surf and Turf — it was so delicious! I was hesitant to order a roll with steak but took the plunge and it paid off. The steak was so tender, shrimp hot and crunchy. The stars of that roll though were definitely the cilantro sauce and candied jalapenos. I will learn how to make those at home asap and add to everything I eat. The Dynamite roll was also a great standard roll. Their rice is so nice and soft here — not old, hard and stale. The guys working in the cart seem super nice as well. Yesterday he told me the wait would be 15 minutes but it was only about 4. Today it took a bit longer but I was happy to sit on their covered picnic benches reading my book and enjoying the weather. I can’t wait to enjoy lunch here much, much more often!

Extra soy sauce, that is what I was so missing. I felt my roll seemed priced a bit high for a trailer, but it was so good I’m thinking that maybe the price was worth it. Fish tasted very fresh and had great sharp tastes to it. Rice and seaweed also had great fresh taste. I did think I waited a bit long for a simple single roll that only had fish in it, but that is nit picking. It truly was a delicious meal.

Got my sushi roll standard: the spicy tuna roll(aka the Dynamite roll) with avocado. The tuna was good; the roll was nicely spicy. There was a small sliver of avocado inside. The rice to fish ratio is rarely satifsfying to me, as was the case here. My roll was $ 5.50. Damn, missed out on the $ 1.20 edamame another reviewer noted. So obviously good prices! I will be returning again for lunch. Hint: ask for an extra packet of soy sauce, because you’ll likely need it.

Wow, these food«trailer parks» are popping up all over Austin. After trying Sushi A-Go-Go today, I must say that I am envious of people working in the neighboring professional buildings because they get to walk downstairs for lunch and have tasty, affordable sushi. My bf and I tried the Shumai appetizer, Trio Roll, Dynamite Roll, and Summer Time Roll. The Shumai was okay($ 2.95 for 5 small pieces)…but not like the pork & shrimp dumplings that you may be familiar with from dim sum restaurants. These were small, fried shrimp balls, basically. The freshness of the sushi rolls was surprising, considering that they came from inside a cart and were served on a tray much like HEB sushi. I actually think the freshness of the fish and of flavor is comparable to a middle-tier sushi restaurant. Overall, I think this is a great concept and will definitely be back next time I want some sushi without the frills. At $ 4−7/roll, you’re really paying for the food, not an inflated cost to include ambiance at upscale restaurants. Note that it’s cash only. While I can understand that fellow Unilocalers may be disappointed after hearing all the hype about Sushi A-Go-Go, I think that if you take it for what it is… sushi basics and staple rolls… you’ll enjoy it too.

Good news! Sushi A-Go-Go has opened a second trailer, this one on Barton Springs Road across the street from the Palmer Events Center’s parking garage. It’s grouped together with two or three other food trailers, and easily visible. I’ve been there twice now and have ordered a variety of different rolls. The quality remains top notch, and the presentation is consistent with the offerings from their original trailer. Wait times quoted seem slightly longer here… perhaps this is due to their soft opening stage… I’m not sure. If I get my act together and remember to order about 25 minutes ahead of when I need the food, then it’s no problem. SAGG continues to offer friendly service, even putting up with my slightly hysterical questions about parking. I don’t know what came over me — the heat and the humidity, I suppose — but the man who valiantly put up with me over the phone never lost his good nature and patience.

My new favorite sushi place. Here are the top 10 reasons: 1. You are getting fresh, delicious sushi out of a trailer 2. You support the food trailer obsession currently taking over Austin 3. The Sunshine Roll made with salmon, mango and avocado is so good it will appear to you in your dreams 4. The prices are good for the quality you get 5. Tying into #4: the edamame is set at 1970s prices at only $ 1.20 for an order 6. The menu is huge for a trailer 7. The people working the trailer always have a smile on their face and are very nice 8. The location is close enough to walk to Lady Bird Lake afterwards 9. Being outdoors with picnic benches you can bring your dog; my dog loves the seaweed salad. 10. Ample parking available Why are you still reading this? A-Go-Go now.

I stopped by their new 2nd location today on Barton Springs for lunch and it is just as good as their Medical Pkwy location! Take was working and explained it was their soft opening and I over heard some gossip that Alamo Draft House would be projecting a movie on their back side for their Grand Opening! My Fresh Salmon, Avocado and Mango Roll was as good as it gets! Plus the best Miso soup in town! Super fresh Sushi lunch at 8.00 before tip!!! Do not let raw fish served out of a trailer scare you — cause they serve some of the freshest sushi I have had in Austin. At this location they are currently serving 11AM — 4PM.
