I was given a $ 25 gift card for my birthday so I tried Smashbuger. Ordered the chicken sandwich with bacon and avocado. It was good but also had one piece of hair.

Been here a couple of times. Pretty good food, smash fries are the best! The other times we have come in the stage has always been fun and patient. Just had Patrick wait on us. Not so fun or patient.

I tried this place a year or so ago. I thought it lacked heavily in the burger department. Well, I decided to give it the benefit of the doubt… and try it again. From having to wait for a good 3 – 4 minutes before a white woman with bright red dyed hair yelled at me «one moment». To the woman with multiple face piercings, a gold grill and a less than friendly attitude. To the general disorder of the whole place. To the same white woman with bright red hair yelling the whole time… I will not be coming back. Completely unprofessional. A a subpar burger with two small pieces of bacon. Two slices of avocado. A slight drizzling of sauce. Plus fries and a drink. $ 11 plus dollars. I’ll pass.

We visited the store @ 8:00 on a Sunday. We had to go up to the window to get someone to come up front. A very nice black FEMALEFROMTHEBOH and apologized for the girl that wasn’t where she was supposed to be. She went right ahead and took our order and answered our questions. She was great. During the ordering when I ordered my shake, the white female that was supposed to be working the FOH yelled across the restaurant that LaTrenda was going to have to make our shake because she already cleaned the milkshake machine. We got our sodas and went to grab a seat. Half the restaurants lights were turned off and the shades pulled partially down. It was if the girl was trying to make the place look closed because she was trying to get out of there, mind you this was 2 hours before close. The food was ok. It didn’t hit the spot with me. Meat wasn’t super juicy. Nothing special about its flavor. It was an ok burger, but not worth $ 7. It made me want a Dans burger! The milkshake we got was AMAZING! Definitely a badass milkshake! We got peanut butter Oreo milkshake. The smash fries were ok. I’d prefer thicker fries tossed with the same stuff. Not a fan of straw french fries. It was worth the visit for the shake, but that’s all I’d be back for.

Awesome sized portion! Slow make time. Everything was fresh! Employees weren’t too happy to be there. They say SMASH a lot. I mean. A. LOT.

Too close to the Cameron Rd. Ghetto I was lucky enough to try this place out when they first opened back in 2012 and had pleasant experiences taking friends here. Since then it seems they’ve hired a new staff of impolite and rowdy people. While I waited for my food I listened to the«big mama» manager bark profanities rudely at her employees while half the staff stood on the porch in a smoker’s circle. Not a comfortable environment to say the least. Store was clean, food was good as usual. Hire a better staff.

I wasn’t really a fan of Smashburger honestly. I got the Avocado Veggie Smashburger and i expected it to be cooked with that crispy edge. I also got a large order of smash fries. They were okay nothing to rave about. There are other places in Austin!

New location needs work. I was disappointed. The food was just mediocre. There was so much sauce in my burger it was falling apart. This location was FILTHY, the bathrooms were absolutely disgusting and trash was heaping over the garbage can in the main lobby of the restaurant. I probably won’t return, there are way too many burger places that are a thousand times better.

First time to this chain. My friend asked the cashier what a Smashburger is and she tells me they smash the burger on the grill to get a sear and seal in the juices. I’ve always heard that smashing the burger pushes out all of the juices and dries the burger up, so I was skeptical. I was wrong. The Classic Smash was juicy and had a good amount of flavor. I also got the Smash Fries(olive oil, rosemary, garlic) and they were delicious. I’m going to have to come back and try some of the other burger variations.

A burger isn’t just a burger. While I don’t enjoy these as much as many people do, when I want a dressed burger, I go to Hut’s. That’s what a burger is. And, for those times when a quick fix is needed I’ll do P. Terry’s. These are not the same, and one does not take the place of the other. Then you’ve got all the other burger places, and that’s where Smashburger fits in. The burger — a BBQ Cheddar Onion — was not remarkable. I could see there was cheese on it, but no I could not tell you it was cheddar without the menu. Fried Onions? A fair amount but tasteless. And the beef? Okay. Its a 2 folks. The egg bun was good, and the fries though plentiful were shoe string and just not hot. Now, as far as fries go I think shoestring doesn’t count so I wouldn’t have liked even if they were hot. But, they weren’t. Pricey I think — almost $ 11 for a burger, fries and free refill Coke-Cola. But when you get into $ 11 – 12 territory you’re talking Hopdoddy’s if you don’t know any better or Huts if you do. Service was fine, and the place was clean, and they do have outside seating which was really nice on this gorgeous fall day. Oddly enough, the hardscape included beautiful pre-rusted planters full of… dead plants. Why can’t these frickin’ chains ever get it right? Try it if you want something different. Just don’t say I recommended it.

Second time here, first time was shortly after they l opened and the food was good but not great. 4⁄5 stars then but they’ve definitely lost it recently. Lady who took the orders seemed very uninterested in taking our orders correctly and unenthusiastic about her job, not like I’m having a bad day but a she really didn’t want to be there doing this type of vibe. Burger I ordered came out wrong, quickly corrected, my wife ordered an avocado club that has no avocado and when asked for it to be added they put two tiny slivers on the bun that covered maybe ¼th-1/3rd the bun diameter… Sad but worse than that there was not even an apology for the wrong orders. Smash fries were mediocre, soggy, distinctly lacking any rosemary flavor, I roast potatoes with that a lot and really had high hopes for this but I’ve had better fries at five guys unseasoned, the fried pickles were okay but not so good I wanted to finish my order. Salad was a feta /chicken spinach thing, can’t remember details of that but it was a good salad. Bathrooms could have been cleaner. But they were not filthy. 2 stars because first experience there was good and salad was made right. Not worth 30 bucks for 2 sandwiches, a salad, large fry and fried pickles. Knock that down about 7 – 8 $ and I’d have been more okay with the taste.

Smashburger is a great local burger joint. It has a great atmosphere with a lot of outdoor seating and a fun indoor layout. The staff is friendly and helpful and the facility is clean as well as the bathroom. The food is delicious and worth the price. You can expect a medium priced burger and fries and it is well worth it. We had the Classic Smashburger and the Truffle Mushroom Swiss burger with a side of Smash Fries and Sweet Potatoe fries. Everything was perfectly cooked and delicious.

I am typically anti-chain restaurant, but… Smashburger at Mueller is my new weak spot. The burgers are great. I work at a local business, my coworkers and I get lunch here once or twice a week. Consistently awesome. That’s not the reason for my Unilocaling about this place. I go to Mueller Smashburger for one reason, the kitchen manager. This guy is killing it! That location can get very busy, with high maintenance customers and internet orders. The kitchen manager is fast, accurate, professional and charming. He has heart and loves the kitchen. I don’t know his name, but if you’re the Mueller location operations manager, I’m sure you do. Cooks like that are hard to find. See you soon!

My hubby & I went here for the 1st time, take out. The place was pretty well kept, I’m huge on that. LOL We got there close to 6:30pm, nice crowd. We ordered THREE burgers: Avocado Club, Spinach, Cucumber & Goat Cheese, and the Truffle Mushroom Swiss, the Smashfries, & two bottled drinks. The FRIESARETDF, we started eating them when we got to the car. LOL The burgers were really good, I esp. liked the spinach one. Not crazy abt goat cheese, but I ate it; still a good burger. The meat was seasoned nicely, as were the fries. The staff was super friendly, another PLUS in my book. It’s an intimate spot, but you can take the family there also. WEWILLBEGOINGBACK, to eat IN.

I honestly did not have high hopes for this place when we walked in. That’s because the person taking orders and making shakes was talking to the cook and said, «we’re doing the best we can — it’s not our fault they didn’t schedule enough people for a holiday weekend.» Did I mention we visited on July 4th? It was right after a round of golf so I was starving and when I heard this I was disappointed because I thought our food would take forever to come out! Despite being understaffed according to the clerk, he was friendly and courteous when taking our order. My husband ordered a shake and he brought it to our table since we had already sat down. He said our food would be up shortly. And to my surprise, it was! Our food arrived within just a few minutes and the guy was again very friendly. He said to let him know if we needed anything else. I would give the device we received five stars! I’m only giving this place a four because I feel the food is good, but not great. I’ll definitely go back though!

I went in around 3 pm on a Tuesday, the lunch rush long since passed the the restaurant occupied by 3 full tables. For 10 dollars and change I purchased a regular Smash burger with their Smash fries and a drink. This restaurant is brand new but already the garbage can near the drink station stinks of neglect and days without cleaning. That familiar dumpster on a hot summer day smell. My burger arrived promptly but with little fanfare. A tasty offering to be sure but nothing to write home about. The fries were a tragedy. Thin and soggy, they may have once had some crunch to them, but they were left to soak in a puddle of rosemary oil. A literal puddle, I poured out the container and it coated the bottom of the burger basket. I only wish I had my phone on me at the time to corroborate this, Disappointing to say the least.

I found the burgers here to be sort of meh. They were fine, not a bad burger, don’t get me wrong. But they were nothing special. We got a bacon cheeseburger and a buffalo blue cheese. We also got both regular and sweet potato fries. The regular fries were not the kind I like, they were extremely skinny fries, don’t like those. The sweet potato fries were good, though. I think, based on other reviews, we should give them another shot, because they are right in our neighborhood, and some of the other burgers got really good reviews. So I’m willing to go back and try them again. But based on first visit, they were maybe on par with Mighty Fine or Five Guys or Elevation(all of which I also find kind of meh). Maybe I’m just a pickier burger eater than most. I thought on first visit I should get the standard(classic) version, so I can get a baseline. Next time I’ll branch out and try some of the fancier ones. But for now, I can only give it a. .. .meh.

«GETREADYTOHAVEYOURHOPESFORGOODFOODSMASHED!» NOPE…nope…don’t do that to yourself. Don’t go into this with high hopes or great expectations. Don’t go into this thinking you’re going to find something on the order of Mighty Fine, P. Terry’s, or even In and Out Burger. Go in expecting Wendy’s on a bad day, and still prepare yourself for disappointment. First, this place is being run by children who can’t seem to manage ay aspect of the job by themselves. Ringing up the orders, making the shakes, everything seemed to require a tag team effort, which was funny since everything was moving at a snail’s pace. I ordered lunch for my sales team of 6 people in the Austin office today, and I had to order at the restaurant because they refused to take my order over the phone. That’s 6(six) people, not 16 or 60, but you’d have thought I’d have ordered much more based on how long it took. Then, after taking a ridiculous amount of time for the food, they started making the milkshakes, and for some reason 6 milkshakes took the better part of 15 minutes to complete. By this time, I knew the food was going to be cold by the time I completed my 5 minute drive back to the office. In this assertion I was not disappointed. The food was cold and mislabled, and I got 1 extra shake, 1 missing fries, lettuce and pickle missing from one of the burgers, and god knows what else. This is not the cool indie burger chain we’d all hoped it would be. It was more of the same disappointing garbage you can get at any fast food slop trough.

Let’s start off with a positive… Lol. So the smash fries are great! The rosemary, olive oil, garlic mix is not to be denied. However, the Swiss and mushroom burger I’ve seen so many rave about was… how can I say this nicely… gross. The meat was dry, and boy did they go overboard on that truffle oil. To say it over powered the burger would be an understatement. I had such high hopes and considering the cost of the burger alone($ 5.99) it was a true disappointment. What was even more disappointing was the service. You(yes, you, my fellow Unilocalers) recommended ordering online to cut down on some of the wait time. Would you believe that I still ended up waiting about 5 minutes. And it’s not like they were in the back making my food. No! My food was sitting right there underneath the heat lamp less than 4 feet away from me. Yet, there was no one in the front and the one person in the back that I was able to make eye contact with didn’t even acknowledge my presence. After some time a lady in the back came out looking at me as though I might have been in the wrong place. So she asks, «You here for pick-up?», as I stand under the«pick-up orders» sign. I humor her with the obvious answer, Yes! And within just 3 seconds, my food is in my hand! Really!?! If I had the balls I would have just grabbed it off the counter myself and saved us all the confusion. Geeze! I really wanted this place to be much better, and honestly I will go back again, but only to get more smash fries and to try the hand spun Haagen Dazs milkshakes. I’ll be back with an updated review soon!

Smashburger, when you first came to town, my visit to your Southpark Meadows location ended in a bagful of oversalted meh. When you opened at Lakeline, Madi F. and I weren’t impressed by your milkshakes, but it did cause me to buy some rosemary so I can replicate your yummy fries at home(though I oven bake them). Yet I was still convinced I should ignore your burgers and just go for your chicken sandwiches. Having visited your third Austin location at Mueller on «International Hamburger Day» this year, I learned you now offered a gluten free bun. So now I could try Smashburger with the wife. I had originally assumed she would want the Truffle Mushroom Swiss burger, but she’s a fan of anything with avocado. So, she went with the Avocado Club, which even adds bacon. The wife had been in love with your shareable rosemary/olive oil/garlic fries since the first time I brought some leftovers home. Now that she was having them fresh, she was even more impressed. The«regular»(small) of the burger sizes is enough for either of us, and we enjoyed them both. I forgot to try the«add a fried egg» option(for $ 1) to my mushroom burger, but that gives me something to try next time. Still not sold on the almost-$ 5 shakes. We like the $ 2-ish shakes from the California burger place across the interstate better… Service at the counter seemed a little… distracted, and the lady making shakes seemed very unproductive. But the man who brought us our food truly seemed concerned about our satisfaction. And my wife is happy with any burger place that leaves a bottle of mustard at the table. She’s also intrigued by the salads we’ll try some day. Overall rating — about 4 stars Minus 3 billion stars for the underwhelming«Texas» regional burger(Replacing ketchup with mustard does not make something«Texas».) But I’ll add points back for fresh sliced avocado and the gluten free bun. 3.8 stars.
