I would have to say that I was pretty surprised with the taste of the food from this place. I ordered a double-double combo and was surprised at how the fries tasted like they were under cooked but the burger couldn’t go wrong for it tasted wonderful. I did have to send back the fries and order it to be extra crispy which was a much better alternative. I made sure to ask for some of that animal style sauce packets and sauced accordingly which definitely enhanced the flavor of the burger and fries. the restaurant had a well attended drink, and self serving area even when it was busy. Will definitely be coming back. I would say this would be a great late night choice.

Had an amazing burger protein style. I’m so happy to have a burger place that makes a great low carb option. Can’t wait to come back and have another.

I had heard of this place, and thought I had to be in CA to experience it. So when I was driving through TX and saw one I had to stop. Sure it was along a major highway, but I was really shocked at how busy the place was in the dining room and the drive-thru. The wait was maybe only 7 minutes total though combining waiting in line and for my food. I asked Google what to order and was told about Animal Style; so that is what I ordered. I got a Double Animal Style(mustard cooked beef with extra spread) with fries. I liked that the burgers were on the thin side and were cooked just above medium. However, I was expecting more of a distinct taste to the special spread. It was good, but not overly noticeable or tangy or sweet or… memorable. The fries were good and I actually ate them without ketchup. They really did seem to be mostly unaltered potatoes(individually cut in store supposedly). They were just the right amount of salty. I restrict fast food to a once every five years habit, but I don’t regret trying this place. The dining area and restrooms were clean. The staff were cheerful and fast too!

Burgers are great but I think they really need quality control on their potatoes! There were a lot of fries that were really moldy…

Friendly service but something is just off with the food. This is the second In-N-Out I’ve tried in the Austin Region(there’s another one up in Round Rock) and it just doesn’t match the taste you find in the West Coast. It wasn’t just that the cheeseburger didn’t meet the standards I was expecting, but it was also completely bland and flavorless! And don’t get me started on the fries… bleh! Aside from nostalgia, I don’t see any reason to come here when there are so many other fast food burger joints all around the area.

I had been to in n out in Cali. I feel like the ones in Texas(Dallas&Austin) have very different standards. Lines are always long, and take forever for our meals every single time. Beef is always dry and thin, not much beef patty juicy flavor it should have. Animal style is not that special. Most of the time the cheese is «over cooked» with burnt onions. Fries are dry and flavorless. Nothing really that unique or appealing.

I dont know what’s with the fries animal style because it looks gross but the taste was super good like you’re eating something you thought that it would taste bad but the truth is its totally amazing. grabbed an order of this and also the cheesy burger was delicioys. bookmarked!

The only reason they don’t get a full 5 stars is because there’s no real veggie burger patty… I don’t eat red meat but I still find creative ways for my burger fix. And this spot has the delicious crispy fries, cool and creamy shakes and still a good burger. I order from the«secret menu» Get a grilled cheese which has everything but the meat. The veggies are fresh and the bun is spongy and tasty.

Yum yum yum! It had been a few decades since I had In-N-Out burger and I was so excited to have it again. The food was flipping amazing. The only grip I had was I went through the drive thru which wasn’t that busy, and I had to wait 10 minutes after paying for my food. Is that standard for In-N-Out? I don’t know. but that’s why I gave it 4 stars instead of 5.

I’m from the East so In-N-Out Burger has always been on my wishlist of places that I want to try when going out West and I’m glad that I did! This is a very clean store and they have ample indoor and outdoor seating and a private lot. The staff is very friendly and they get the food out really quickly, they even say the names and numbers loud enough where one can hear them through the crowded masses. I ordered a single with cheese and my partner got the Double Double. Just thinking about those burgers is making my stomach growl! Awesome sponge bun, fresh and crisp veggies, perfectly made patties, melty cheese and a delicious spread, much like that of Red Robin’s sauce. I loved every bite of that burger and really regretted not getting the Double Double. The only think that I didn’t like about my experience were the fries. They’re cut in-house and for some reason I’m never a fan of the kind of fries that they sell. Its kind of like they’re a shell with nothing in them. But other than that, perfect! Overall: I’m a big fan of the simple menu, but like others have stated, I wouldn’t mind cheese fries, bacon, soft serve, just little stuff like that that we’re all accustomed to at other burger joints. I love this place and I can’t wait to come back someday!

I’ve heard so many great things about In N Out Burger. So when I found out they had several locations in Austin, TX I was so excited to try them out. My thoughts EH. The food was not all that to me. Mainly because I did not think it was all that flavorful even ordering the food ‘Animal Style’. The best thing I ordered was a chocolate milkshake.

In and Out.hmmm. Well, I can’t say anything really bad about the place. I mean, their burgers are pretty darn good but their fries are kinda«airy» if that makes any sense? Maybe it’s because they are freshly cut right there in the store? I dunno, but it kinds throws you off if you are used to say P. Terry’s, Whataburger or Burger King. The value for the money isn’t bad at all and judging by the few times I have been there the place has always looked bright and clean with the employees enthusiastically working in their classic looking uniforms. Reminds me of something straight out of the 50’s. It’s definitely good and cheap and they have a very simple menu that you can’t go wrong with. Try their burgers or fries«animal style» and see if you like that twist on their food. I thought it was pretty good. Just wish they offered bacon or jalapeños on their burgers. It’s A-OK. Good place for a cheap burger with excellent customer service with a smile. Give them a try if you are close by.

I can say it pains me to give an In-N-Out three stars. I love In-N-Out burgers. I grew up with In-N-Out in California so it is very dear to me as an institution. I was one of the first to eat at the Goodyear, AZ location — one of the very first expansions of In-N-Out outside of California. The double double with onion is a mainstay. The fries are fresh and hot as always. The primary reason for this less than stellar review is this specific location’s quality of service and perhaps its training of their staff(or lack of). We pulled up to the drive through and placed a pretty simple order: Double Double with onions, fries, and tea. Single with fries and Dr. Pepper. We were asked several times if we wanted our order in a box to eat in the car and both times I said yes. He repeated the order back to us and everything was correct. After paying, we pulled up to the second window and we were handed a bag that was dripping some foreign substance on the bottom which got all over the car and my hands. I asked what it was and they took it back without a word and gave us our order in a new bag. I told them my hands were soaked with whatever liquid that was on the bag and he handed me a few napkins. So, four things: 1. Dripping wet bag? No apology or any comment about the mysteriously wet bag. Just handed me some napkins to clean up… 2. The double double with onions had no onions. 3. The fries were warm, not hot, but warm like they were sitting out for a bit. 4. What happened to the eat-in-the-car box that we were asked about twice? Thankfully, this is not a usual experience at In-N-Out and hopefully it is just isolated for this one location, which I hope they do address. I will just visit one of the other three locations in the Austin area when I am in the mood for a double double with cheese.

Can I just say that one person has completely changed my experience at In-N-Out. And it’s not even that I wouldn’t give them 5 stars anyway. What I’m hoping I could do was give 10 stars. I live in Denver now. I was a transplant from my home in Henderson, NV. We have In-N-Out all over the west coast. If you grow up on that coast, it’s a staple for you. I was delighted on my most recent trip to Austin to see that In-N-Out has spread to Texas. On my very last day there before my flight, my friend and I stopped in for a much needed In-N-Out fix. We ordered our usual, in a usual way, and it came out perfect(as usual). Towards the end of the of the visit a sweet young lady by the name of Jessica was cleaning the dining area. What I love about In-N-Out is No One is above cleaning, restocking, or doing the grunt work. As she was sweeping and wiping around our table, she stopped to say hello and asked us how our food was. I replied with my usual response, «It was awwwwwwwful.» With a smile of course. She told my friend and I about her experience moving to Texas from California as a teenager and she was sad that she wouldn’t have In-N-Out in Austin. When she saw they were opening in Austin, she jumped on the opportunity. She is 17 ½ now and making $ 12.50/hour. Are you kidding me? If I was making $ 12.50/hour at 17 I would never leave. Bravo In-N-Out for treating your employees with respect. It clearly shows. The employees love their jobs. Even when I see them standing behind a hot grill, slanging fresh French fries in the slicer, or in this case, sweeping the floor. Keep up the great service Jessica. You will go very far in life, and at the very least, In-N-Out. Thank you for the In-N-Out memorabilia. I will never forget my stop at your location. Thank you! 10 Stars, 10 Hearts, 10 Wants(a double double right now)

This review is primarily for myself so I remember how overrated this place is. The cheeseburger is meh, the fries are instantly stale, but the chocolate milkshake’s alright. Olivia, don’t come here again, please.

I just want to roll myself up into the flavor and tastiness that is produced by such a fine establishment such as In-N-Out. I had the 3×3 burger, and I never wanted to have something in my face that fast before since the spring of ’86. Enough reading, smack those directions into your little phone and get one of these glorious creations into the furthest reaches of your tummy.

Easily one of my favorite fast food burgers. Always animal style. Alway! Not too big of a burger and it priced well for what you get. The fries weren’t good here tho. Kinda flat and not crispy. Staff is fine. Nothing special but not bad either.

The food here is just like the ones in Cali. Which is to say, the burger tastes good(I think the ace-in-the-hole is their sauce, and their buns are quite tasty) but it is still a fast food burger. You have to «get» the fries… they aren’t great but they are an institution. I always top off my In-N-Out meal with a delicious strawberry shake.

A taste of home! Okay I’ll say it I miss Southern California every now and then. I was raised on In-N-Out for crying out loud. I can’t say how great it is to have one here in Austin that is about 10 minutes away. If there was ever a cure for being a little homesick, it’s a 4×4 animal style with whole grill onions add raw chop add chopped chilis. See? I told you I was a California native. The line can be long but it’s worth the wait especially if you’ve had a lifetime of conditioning to wait for this burger.

I did my due diligence and finally tried my firs In&Out. The location is prime right off 35, and since I visited just after open, I didnt have much of a wait. I ordered the Double Double and animal fries. The burger was thick and the ingredients were well balanced. The sauce they use is to die for. It really adds a great flavor. The animal fries were amazing. The fries are their standard fries with grilled onions, cheese, and their sauce. The parking lot is huge, the grounds and interior look very nice(from what I could see through the drive through). If I didnt read reviews and talk to people abiut In & Out, I wouldnt have known about the different styles such as Aninal and Monster. I woukd recommend the menu board at the drive through have some sort of explanation or mention of the styles.

You can see the sign off I-35. It’s a pretty popular location. There is a parking lot, parking shouldn’t be an issue. For some reason, every time I’m here, there is like an enormous line in the drive through. If that’s the case, it may be faster to just walk-in and order. The interior is your staple in and out design. They look the same as any of the other ones. The bathroom here is okay, not super clean, not super dirty. The usual. The servers were helpful and funny. Had a great time interacting with them. The burgers are awesome. Really worth the time and money spent here. The fries, I’m not sure. It’s a personal opinion, but I’m not a huge fan of them. Only way I can objectively describe them is that they are pretty thin. It can feel like that it is difficult to taste the potato. Feels like I’m just eating fried dough. Some people have said that it tastes better if you make it «animal-style» which you can order and they just dump sauce on it with onions. All in all, I’d come here for the burgers! Bonus: You can ask for animal sauce on the side at no charge.

Fast and friendly service! Their food is good but folks. please understand that this joint is a hot and fresh kind of place. You must eat the food ASAP! The patty is piping hot and the veggies are super cold so when you bite into the burger it is juicy and crunchy! If you eat it later then the juices make the burger soggy and the crunchy veggies are not as fresh either so keep this in mind and eat it there or within 10 minutes of being served! This location is very clean and the staff is particularly great. Love!

I think this is pretty average-ish, seeing that there are so many burger places nowadays. I recently had P Terry’s before coming here, and so I primarily came to see which one I would make my go-to burger place. The hamburgers at this place are kind of plain. The meat has no flavor really, and the patty tastes the same quality of a fast food chain like McDonald’s or Burger King. The french fries were also not really to my liking. They were not that crunchy, and apparently I am told that’s their ‘style,’ but I didn’t like it too much and it was kind of like eating boiled potato slices, to be blunt. Overall, the experience wasn’t too amazing, and this place might be a little overrated.

I tried this is in sweet cali and ever so often when I am tired of all the local Houston chains I crave this. Since there are not any Houston anytime I am in Austin I make sure that I stop by. On this particular day, the lines were really crazy. Their paved parking lot was full that everyone started parking in the gravel lot next to it. I’m not sure if this is a usual thing or just for that particular day. After ordering we managed to snag a booth and enjoy our burgers. The flavor is certainly different than the local brands and definitely something worth trying if you have not already.

I heard so many good things about In & Out burger. I even got that they were supposely better than Whataburger. Since Houston has no franchise established. I had to see for myself. When we first arrived, it was a long drive-thru line, lots of people inside and outside eating, and a bunch of people getting and going. We even thought there weren’t any seats available of how many people were here. The inside was crowded like on Black Friday. It was unbelievable. The cleaning staff seem to be fed up with crowd. When I came back from grabbing my order the two sweepers stood in the way sweeping. When I politely said«excuse me» they both ignored me and kept doing their job. Ahh. it’s just a floor. I ordered the legendary, exceptional Double-Double and Animal style fries. So many people have boast to me on how delicious it is. Even my co-worker has shamed me for eating elsewhere. He would nag me every other day. «Have you gone, get this». «It is to die for». So, what did I do. I tried it for the very first time. The double-double had too much lettuce on it. I couldn’t savor the rest of the burger. It had too little meat on it, cheese, and flavor. It didn’t taste any different for a burger I can prepare on my own. You know every fast food burger chain has their thing: Burger King has the charboiled grill taste, Mcdonalds has that medicore burger taste & if you microwave it for leftovers it smells like crap, Sonic has the juicy burgers, Wendy’s has that square patty I sworn not to touch. and Whataburger has the all-time favorites, large, round, old fashioned burger. And what does In & Out burger Austin have. Too much lettuce and no flavor. I felt like I didn’t get the full taste of the double-double so on to the animal style fries. They looked appealing at first glance. But the taste was missing. When I tried to eat it, cheese on top was hard. It wasn’t creamy or dreamy. It was more of a horrid nightmare that seemed like vomit over fries. The sauce on top was thousand island dressing with I guess burnt onions. It just didn’t taste like onions to me. Heat lamp is not advised. What’s so great about Thousand Island dressing. It’s not all that great. Mcdonalds used it for the iconic Big Mac and now In & Out. At least jazz it with something. The fries were fried, and then fried again in old grease. It wasn’t pleasantly delicious though it was pleasantly disgusting. They were plain no seasoning, topped with salad dressing and«economax» cheese. I could have bet a shake is suppose to be thick, cold, and made with ice cream. I wanted it mixed with vanilla & strawberry. It was more vanilla and actually no strawberry. The consistency of the shake was watery-like and I believe made with that«airy» stuff. The shake was all the way melted down and wasn’t a shake. Is it better than Whataburger. Not by any chance it is though not a favorite of mine. Austin In & Out is is not the greatest being it was my first time dining. I don’t want to give up of this franchise, but this experience was nothing to brag about or return.

I’m a nostalgic Californian transplant, so obviously I love In-N-Out. It’s the ultimate comfort food, it’s cheap, and they use good ingredients. It’s not healthy by any means, but it’s a fast food burger joint — what do you expect? Despite a simple menu, you can customize your order in so many ways. Add some extra patties if you feel the need to eat more meat. Add some extra veggies(for free!) if you prefer. Try something a little different and get whole grilled onions instead of chopped ones. Get some extra packets of spread and smother it on your burger or fries(or take them home and use them for something else). Get your fries cooked well done if you prefer them crunchier than their normal fare. As a vegetarian, my go-to is the grilled cheese(which is just a cheeseburger without the patty), animal style with extra grilled onions. Oh, and animal style fries. I can’t get enough of the grilled onion/cheese/secret sauce combo. Every time I’ve been here the facilities have been clean and the service has been extremely friendly. How do the people who work in food service in Austin have so much positive energy? It’s almost scary. Anyway, I’m always thankful that In-N-Out exists here. My west coast heart is happy(figuratively).

There is nothing here I would return for. I’ve been one of the only people I know in this town who hadn’t been here before. I’m gonna lay it all out about this place. They basically stole the idea of the Big Mac, made it fresher, slightly bigger in appearance. The patty is a thin sliver of what seems to be beef, and everything here is slathered in «secret sauce», which is really thousand island dressing, with relish in it. McDonalds got this right though, by reducing the overly tangy flavor by adding mayo to it. In and out adds bitter relish. The fries are soggy, and the flavors don’t compliment each other at all. The burger is dry… Ingredients are blah. You know who does this meal better? Freaking Sonic. Save yourself a trip and just go there. Better tots. Better doubles. And better shakes. California– you certainly missed the mark with this establishment. Even P Terry’s would be a better option. 2 stars cause it’s clean… And decent service.

If you like hamburger, here’s what you need to do you are nearby this area: 1) Go to In-and-Out Burger 2) Order a delicious hamburger, and make it Animal Style(Decked with grilled onions and house sauce) for free because why would you want to deny a free upgrade to food? 3) Take a break from whatever your diet you are on, and order food-truck-style, Animal Style fries($ 1.50 extra) for a full Animal Style meal experience 4) Eat and discover a fast food experience that would change your life and prospective No need to thank me. I got yo back. (Sorry non-burger fans, In-and-Out literally has only hamburgers and no fish or chicken sandwiches on the menu)
