Five stars for the Grackle Rocket. Chicken was perfectly crisp and moist. The pita held up despite being deliciously over stuffed and expertly doused in rooster sauce. So happy I came back to try this at the beginning of the night.

It’s pretty good and it’s in the parking lot of a bar I like. As we all know by now I am not a fan of food trucks. I think they are over rated and often inconvenient. But this is one i like. They do it right– they put it on a pita and they are actually open when I want food. Thats how food truck food should be. Good job guys.

I went gluten-free and got the lamb in a bowl. So good. Get it. The truck is by The Grackle and they will bring your food to you in the bar. It can take a little time but all trucks do.

I declare their Grackle Rocket the best sandwich in Austin. They combined all the flavors of eating wings into a pita sandwich. Blue cheese, carrots, crunchy skinless boneless chunks of chicken, some freak cross breed of Buffalo and Sriracha sauce, all in this grilled pocketless puffy pita. I can’t stop thinking about it.

FOODTRUCKREVIEW: Holy cow! Five stars on the Baby Cakes alone! Like the tastiest potato pancakes you ever popped in your mouth. This definitely enhances the experience of the already-awesome Grackle. I also tried the BLAT, a BLT wrap with avacado, and that was good too. But, oh baby, those Baby Cakes!

Oh yeah. Stopped here with a group on Saturday after Map Jam and we were all so glad we did. Personally, I’m not a fan of ESK so this is a very, very welcome addition to The Grackle. I wish it hadn’t taken me so long. All of my friends ordered the lamb wrap/sandwich/whatever it’s called and raved and raved. And raved. I had the veggie option and ding dang. That thing is goooood! The veggies were fresh and perfectly cooked and everything going on in there was delightful. I don’t remember what all of those things were because we started at Hops and Grains earlier in the day but I remember being very content. And the girl working that day(there was a serious line) was knocking it out. From other reviews I’m looking forward to trying out the quinoa/hummus/salad situation. I deduct one star for the very sad spicy pickled carrots. Not only were there no carrots(just cabbage) there was no pickling of any kind, shape, or form. I think they must have run out and were trying to make due but I’d rather them have said, «Yo, we’re out» then purchasing some cabbage with a little bit of mystery dressing.

I was quite impressed with my delicious Grackle Rocket pita sandwich(even though I hate Grackles…)! You get a lot of bang for your buck here: my sandwich was stacked with buffalo spiced chicken, blue cheese, caramelized onions and carrot and cabbage«slaw». The bacon was likely bacon bits and wasn’t very prominent; I couldn’t really taste it but it added some crunchy texture. The tasty«Rooster sauce» was a nice compliment to the slaw. At $ 7 it was quite a bargain!

Soooooooooo… let me tell you a bit of a story. Actually, there’s no story. I’m sorry I lied. I went to the Grackle for Trivia on Thursday and after some drinking and trivia-ing, I got hungry. It was 10PM and the choices were East Side Kings or Go Bites. While everyone raves about ESK, including myself(ABSOLUTELYLOVE the spot at the Liberty), I took a shot on Go Bites. Maybe it was the spaceship logo. Maybe it was the fact I wanted a sandwich. Okay, it was the spaceship logo. Now that I’ve gotten all of that out of the way, let me talk about the sandwich. I ordered the Grackle Rocket, which is a high end Buffalo Chicken sandwich. It was a party in my mouth and my tastebuds were the guests of honor. Everything about this was balanced. It wasn’t too spicy and there was a a hint of sweetness. It was just one of those moments when it’s a goddamn revelation. I’m honestly salivating right now as I try to remember how amazing it was. So, I’m gonna get one again tonight. And possibly tomorrow night. Probably not Sunday because that’d be crazy.

I recently had drinks at the Grackle and saved room for food as Go Bites and another food trailer call the Grackle’s parking lot home. I ordered the bijou box and Jesse ordered a b-lat. The bijou box is a fresh bed of greens, shredded carrots, sliced cucumbers, avocado, red bell pepper served with quinoa tabouleh salad a dollop of hummus with a side of pita bread. This was more than one meal in my book and for $ 7 it was worth every dollar. I liked that the tzatziki and the vinaigrette were served on the side as I’m a fork dipper. I couldn’t get enough of the warm pita, creamy hummus and one of the best quinoa salads I have ever had. If meat is a must you can add chicken or lamb to your bijou box. I had a bite of the b-lat and it was good however the bacon was not cooked to order. I give leeway for that as trailers have so many regulations that they might not be able to cook it to order. Go Bites offers something for the carnivore, vegetarian, vegan and gluten free diets. Service was friendly, fast and they delivered our food to us at our table inside the Grackle.

BLERG! Holy batman, I had the lamb thing and it was AMAZING. Their staff is so nice too! I also got the extra naan and hummus! AMAZEBALLS. The only reason this place is a 4 start instead of a 5 star is because the hummus was inconsistent; sometimes too salty, sometimes perfect! I’m so glad we stumbled on this place because East Side King was closed. OOOO The Chicken stip wrap was delish too!!! GETALLTHENOMS.

Whenever I’m eating at the Grackle, I eat here. Friendly staff and tasty(go) bites. Oh, and for the uninitiated, a «rocket» is basically a pita sandwich.

wow, hands down the best food I’ve eaten in forever, home cooked or otherwise! $ 7 was all it cost for such a mind blowing meal with friendly service. I wish I could remember the name of the meal, but I just remember that it was the only one that was chicken based. I wish I could describe it better, but it literally tasted so completely different from anything I had had before I don’t know the names of the flavors to explain the dish. The short version is that $ 7 bought me a large portion of the best food I have had in forever. The only way this place could be any better is if it was also open for lunch!

We tried Go Bites one slow Saturday around lunch time and only one food truck on the east side happened to be open. Somehow we took our hungry asses to The Grackle in hopes that this truck would be open. They were! The couple was very nice and brought our sandwiches in to the bar. My party had The Grackle, the lamb, and I had the B-Lat(blt). Soooo good! They were all delish, but the B-Lat was a home run with it’s fresh lettuce and tomato and crispy bacon! The only thing I would change is the chicken and get it without the bleu cheese. I hate bleu cheese. I have a weird reason why, and I’m not about to explain it. Go bites should be called Big Bites, because their sandwiches are huge, and very shareable.

So far the best food truck in town. The girl at the window was super nice and the food was delivered into the bar quickly. We each got a Grackle Rocket. Chicken, blue cheese, caramelized onions, bacon, Saracha, carrot slaw. Incredibly fresh and hot. Great texture on the chicken. Shoot me in the leg, then ask me what you can do to help, I’ll ask you to bring one of these flatbread sandwiches. We wanted to order another even though we were stuffed. Sad we didn’t, but glad because I would have passed out into a food coma.

i’m not worthy oh grackle rocket– i need another fix soon. also nice that we could grab a beer while we waited. the healthier version(i.e. salad w/pita) also had yummy sauce & was huge! brought left overs home. glad to have this new spot in the neighborhood. another plus, we grabbed a beer while waiting at the picnic tables.

SO glad that this place is around! The food is amazing(try the Veggie Rocket and the Quinoa Tabouli), the water is boxed(super eco-friendly), and the service is solid. Also, my husband is completely addicted to the B-LAT Rocket, which I’m pretty sure is a wad of locally-sourced bacony goodness inside a pita with all the fixins. Go Bites is a trailer where you can eat healthy or eat trashy… what more could you want?! A great addition to the East Side!

Prepare to get face«stuffed» with awesome flavor because all 5 sandwiches are amazing. I’ve tried all of them since it opened and each one is a prince in its own right. My favorite food truck in town, aside from Cool Haus. It was willed into existence by the owner of Pink Avocado catering, a local award-winning catering company.

I’m not usually a person who will eat lamb, but after speaking with the Go Bites staff(and their recommendation of the #1 Lamb Rocket) I decided I’d give it a try… under one condition. I wanted a sample. To be specific: I asked for a «tiny little square bite of lamb,» not knowing it was strictly made to order, and the chef cooked me up a sample without hesitation. I was embarrassed but grateful that I’d asked, because this is the BEST lamb I’ve ever tried! Seriously. The Lamb Rocket was delicious. and I can’t wait to try other things on the menu. Perhaps my second/third/fourth experiences will bump up my grade to «5 stars» but I’m a tough critic! :) These guys are helpful, friendly, and can make some darn good food. Go grab a beer at the Grackle, wait at the picnic tables, and enjoy a Rocket. You won’t regret it!

Went here for a quick bite(haha…) for dinner. They serve large pita sandwiches for $ 7. And since they’re in the Grackle parking lot, you can get a beer while you wait and they’ll bring you your food. I ordered the Grackle Rocket. It had buffalo fried chicken, bacon, blue cheese, slaw with raisins and a chipotle sauce. My mouth was a bit on fire while eating it, but not painful(read my review of the FireSoul Jalapeño Poppers). and Alex P ordered the Lamb Rocket with lamb, tzatziki sauce, lettuce, tomates, and onions. The lamb was very flavorful and moist. Although it’s no East Side King, I’ll be back when I’m looking for a quick meal or a fresh sandwich.
