Im eating a quinoa burger right now from a place in San Diego and it’s not very good. Which made me think how AWESOME yours were You no longer exist but I still give you 5 stars. FYI republic of sandwich that is now in your old location is pretty good but I’d rather have y’all back. Best wishes wherever you are.

It’s been a while since I’ve been here, and I’ve only been here once, but I remember having a positive experience and liking what I got. I also remember the service being excellent and friendly. I remember the atmosphere being clean and lay back. I’m pretty sure I got a Benedict of some kind. I recall their potatoes being cooked well, nice and crisp with good flavor too. I have not found many great breakfast places here in Austin yet; I’m open to recommendations should you have any. I think I need to return here and try them again.

I loved this place but the last few times I’ve been by it has been closed. I’m getting the feeling it is CLOSED?

You want to eat lunch here. Yup. I know I’ll be back. Think sandwiches, soups, and great daily specials served up in a quaint little spot across from Epicerie. Food: I got the Gobble sandwich with turkey, bacon, cheese, avocado on grilled panini bread. And I added a fried egg. So good. 9⁄10 Seasoned fries. They come out looking overlooked but taste AWESOME. Right amount of fried and seasoning. 8.5÷10 Coworkers got the Tuesday special(which they had on Wednesday bc of the freeze) which was Chicken Fried Chicken, green chili mashed potatoes, and corn. They WIPEDTHEIRPLATECLEAN. Only negative was another coworker getting the burger and the patty was TINY. Like little baby burger. Space: We were the only ones in there, so it wasn’t a problem, but it’s a pretty small place with about 7 – 8 tables. Well lit, clean. Service: Very nice workers and fast food prep.

We came here with a toddler. It was a tuesday morning and there was no problem getting a table. The fried egg sandwich was as good as anything I’ve ever had. The tacos are pretty solid as well. Two tacos was plenty of good for one person. Good coffee, great vibe. Five stars.

Delicious fried egg sandwich with avocado and tomato! Got fruit on the side and they season their watermelon with mint, which I had never tried but the two made for a great combination. My boyfriend got fries on the side of his and they were some of the best fries I think I’ve ever had in Austin! I don’t know what they were seasoned with but they were SO good. Service is very friendly and the bathroom chalkboard is a really cool idea. Only reason it gets 4 stars is for parking and how small it is(thankfully I didn’t go when it was busy though). I’ll be back for sure, can’t wait to try more of the menu!

I came in with a friend last week for lunch and I luckily found a parking space right in front. I was pleasantly surprised how yummy my meal was! I ordered the Ahi Tuna Burger… I was envisioning a tuna patty that’s only seared on the outside… NOPE! even better… They took an actual tuna filet(I think)…and seared that filet… then chopped it up into 2 inch-ish pieces… they took those pieces and tossed it into a tangy gingery tasting sauce(which was YUM!)…then piled these tuna pieces onto a burger bug… with some lettuce & tomato… the combo worked well for me! Yummy side of fries…=) My friend ordered a jalapeño burger with a fried egg(named after a customer who is a local …“the Thep” I think)…you know you are in a friendly establishment when they honor their return customers by naming dishes after them =) The staff was very nice and helpful… the space is a little small & parking is limited… but I’d come back again!

Cute little café with super friendly staff. The location is small, parking lot is small, but if you’re looking for a nice place to grab lunch with a friend, this is a great place to go. It’s easy to miss when you’re driving(I had to U-turn a couple of times), so keep an eye out for it. It’s on your right, right before an intersection if you’re coming from the south on Burnet. Fried egg sandwich was great. I would go back again and get the bowl of chicken and dumplings soup. $ 3.99 for a giant bowl and some bread slices on the side. Great deal for a light lunch.

Excellent. Excellent. Excellent. This tiny place has an explosion of flavors. The egg sandwich is incredible with avocado and tomato. The French toast is FAB! They have their own coffee blend. Try this place– you won’t be disappointed! A definite neighborhood gem.

I didn’t expect to be impressed by Daisie’s, and to be honest, I came because Epicerie(across the street) was way too full for a Saturday lunch. However, after finishing my meal, my resounding thought was this: Daisie’s should be packed out with people everyday! The location’s small, and the décor’s simple, but you get smacked in face with high quality food and service — all at a low price point. The folks working the café are so friendly, and I could tell they’re passionate about the food. I was met with a warm smile and greeting upon entering, and I totally got sold on their special for the day — the eggs benedict(see pictures). It came with Canadian bacon, hollandaise sauce, fried spinach, and house potatoes. All for $ 7.48!(This may include tip…) The food was fantastic. The eggs benedict were rich, savory, and creamy due to the hollandaise, and the bacon added the appropriate saltiness. The fried spinach was a perfect addition, bringing a much needed crunch to otherwise«soft» dish. The house potatoes were cooked and seasoned well, crisp on the outside yet soft on the inside. I’ve had eggs benedict at some of Austin’s more well known eateries, but Daisie’s blew the top open on this one. Utterly delicious. I’m salivating just thinking about it. In addition, I got offered a complimentary coffee(re-fillable)! From what I was told, they came up with their own roast, and it was great. They have a normal roast(caffeinated and decaf) as well as a dark roast. Definitely looking forward to coming back. They have chicken shawarma on the menu. WHATTHEWHAT.

My friend and I decided on lunch at Daisies on Monday. He is on a «plant strong diet» aka vegan. After seeing a couple reviews that Daisies had vegan options, it was an easy choice. The space is small, it probably seats 15 – 20 max. Since they were only open for 6 days we were able to find a table easily. We both ordered soup and the garden salad. The tortilla soup is not what I expected because it was more of a creamy broth topped with chicken. It was really good. My friend ordered a Hatch Potato and Corn chowder. The salads we got were pretty large for a lunch portion. The folks working were friendly but seemed to be struggling to get items out. I hope this was just because they were newly open because this is a nice affordable lunch option in the Allandale area.

Rarely in my short existence on Unilocal have I been inspired to review a restaurant immediately after I step out the door.(And that’s NEVER for a to-go order.) I stopped into Daisies this morning to grab a breakfast taco before work and left with so. much. more. The owner, Angie, made my first experience at Daisies nothing short of phenomenal. I received the warmest of greetings when I walked in(that I wish I would have reciprocated, but this was pre-caffeine Valerie we’re talking here) and she was genuinely excited to tell me about the restaurant, how to order, and about the coffee. She ended up giving me a complimentary cup of coffee because she wanted me to try the unique blend she created just for Daisies. And yep, that’s some good coffee, friends. My breakfast taco was HUGE, the green salsa was delicious, and it was ready to go lickety-split. I’m very excited this little café opened in my neighborhood and can’t wait to go back and try some of the vegan lunch offerings. And they have Maine Root sodas! Bonus!

Stopped in and met the warm and friendly owner who gently tossed together a fresh and delicious Fatoosh Salad for me. This particular salad is a Lebanese favorite, she explained, with romaine, tomatoes, cucumbers and sliced red onions. At my request, she added sliced avocados. The salad was dressed with a tangy lemon and olive oil vinaigarette. It was huge! She warned me that Lebanese people never make small dishes and she was true to her word. The salad took on rabbit-like behavior and multiplied on my plate as I ate. I hope this cute little place continues to thrive. The owner is delightful and eager to please her customers.

Not. Impressed. I was completely underwhelmed by Daisie’s. I work just a block away, so my manager and I are always looking for new places to grab lunch. We were excited that a new place was going in that offered vegetarian options(not that we are vegetarian, just like to be healthy!) Maybe they should have waited a few more weeks to get their act together before they opened, because from what I experienced, they were very unorganized. For lunch we ordered a vegan hot dog for my manager, and a quinoa burger for me… both with seasoned fries. I gave them an extra 5 minutes before I left to pick it up, giving them a total of 20 mins for a take out order. When I got there I was informed that they had run out of vegan hotdogs and had sent someone to the store(presumably the HEB down the street) for more. I waited an extra 10 minutes or so in the restaurant waiting on our order to be prepared and in that period of time I witnessed a customer complaint… oops! A woman was clearly dissatisfied with what she had ordered stating«I’m normally not a food snob, but this is unacceptable» or something to that affect… I wasn’t exactly put at ease about my upcoming meal! On to the food… The quinoa burger looks nothing like it does in the picture on Unilocal.Mine was falling apart when I ate it… and the bottom layer of the bread was just soggy. The fries were soggy too. My manager said of the vegan hotdog that it didn’t taste any different than something she makes at home for herself often. I hate to write a bad review for an independent company just starting out, but I don’t want potential patrons to waste their money on mediocre food. I do wish this little café luck, and I hope that I just caught them on an off day.

As mentioned in my first review I had planned a return visit to try the Rosedale Fried Egg Sandwich. When my husband and I lived in Los Angeles there was a place called Big Tomy’s and it was our go to place for a late night/early morning delicious Fried Egg Sandwich. It has been hard to find a good fried egg sandwich but I was thoroughly surprised and satisfied by this sandwich from Daisies. The Rosedale Fried Egg Sandwich is served with truffle aioli, bacon, melted Swiss cheese on toasted sourdough w/tomato slices, and avocado. You have a choice of a side of house potatoes or fruit salad… all for $ 5.99. The sourdough was soft, not hard as expected from most sourdough breads. The truffle aioli was subtle, not overpowering, perfectly complementing the other flavors of the sandwich. The egg was PERFECTLY cooked over medium such that when you sliced the sandwich in half, the golden yellow yolk began oozing out onto the plate. A DELICIOUS sandwich at a great price. I’m not much of a potato person so I paired my sandwich with the fruit salad… definitely the way to go… especially since I LOVE fruit :-) The owners also threw in the Peach Oolong(YUMMY yummy tea) free of charge! Score! I thought that was pretty awesome :-) While we ate our lunch we got to chat with Angie for some time. I warned the owners that my husband would probably be there everyday. He likes to try everything on the menu when he finds a new place that he enjoys. If you have not been here, definitely come check it out. The owners are super nice and friendly and of course good food doesn’t hurt right?

Here’s the deal: I eat veggie burgers all the time, I know exactly what HEB and Costco are offering at any given moment, and if I’m paying five to seven times the price per patty to have one made for me in a restaurant, it needs to be really, really good. At the very least, catch me on a good day. Well hot damn granny pants, it’s been a good day. I’m giving this place props for their quinoa burger for two reasons: It’s technically a work in progress, since they’re still tweaking it, and I’m just not 100% sure where to put the possessive apostrophe in the word«Daisies.» It’s these little things that make a difference for me. I enjoyed the«Hippy» hot dog and the seasoned fries. The pickles and the coffee here were great. But I thought the quinoa burger itself was like a warm chewy circle of interesting oatmeal, reminiscent of a half-baked cookie that needs a little more cooking time. I wound up using the hot dog toppings of diced green peppers and cooked onions on the burger for more taste and texture. And if you’re one of those people who believe vegan fare should have more color than the actual Vegan eating it, you may be distracted by the quinoa’s whiter shade of pale. This place did fill up quickly during lunch, I’m curious about their breakfast fare, and it would be cool if they had outside seating. The couple running it are genuinely attentive and friendly, they asked us what we thought of their food, and seemed to take our responses seriously. The meat eaters around us looked like their usual happy and content selves with their stuff and juices dribbling on them. And all things considered, we left there pretty happy and content as well.

Okay, Dasies listen up. I like you. I like you quite a bit actually. I like you enough to visit you twice in as many days. I like your burger, even though you cooked it beyond Well Done when I asked for it Medium. I like your fries, even though they are as limp as spaghetti noodles. I even like your Hatch Chile Mashers even though they clearly were rushed out to me. You must have feared that I would be mad that they took too long to get ready. Your Chicken Fried Chicken was really tasty despite not being traditionally crispy. So Dasies, I think you’re pretty rad… but I would love for you to do me a few little favors. Please, talk to your friends and let them know you need a little help to be the best you can be. You should tell the cook to try to prepare the burger to the proper temperature(especially since your menu states you are capable of that feat). You should also tell the cook that it’s okay to take a little extra time if it ensures the food comes out perfect. It’d also be pretty cool if you could find a way to make the fries a little bit crisp. You should definitely also tell your owners to continue being happy, friendly, and genuine to their customers. They clearly care about you, so I am sure they will do what they can to help you out. I’ll be back soon to check up on you and see how you are doing. You’re only about a week old so I think it would be wise of me to wait until you mature just a bit. Once that happens, maybe then we can talk about taking this relationship to the next level.

Daisies Café just opened up, and it is firing on all spheres intrinsic in an Austin-based dining establishment. It maintains a very casual vibe while cranking out high quality housemade goods, profitable for the business as well as for your health. And it does so in an inviting way. It is located at the corner of Hancock, North Loop, and Shoal Creek right next to that red and white gas stop. Pretty interesting location, but definitely Austin– and neighborhood-friendly. The folks running the joint are great, and they allowed us to eat lunch past their 2PM closing time – we felt like family, which certainly contributed to the experience. The menu is sandwich-heavy for lunch and breakfast taco-laden for… well, breakfast. Surprise, surprise. They also do a daily special, which do appear to be pretty unique across the board. Monday’s choice boasts a house-made meat sauce spaghetti for $ 7. Not a bad deal. My hatch chile, potato, corn chowder was pretty hefty. The chiles provided just the right punch, and the potato gave the soup body and the creative texture that is often lacking in many a corn chowder. They know how to crank out a cream-based soup here. More unique was the quinoa burger. It was crisp, and a little compact. The bun was airy and perfectly toasted. One thing I cannot complain about is the house pickle. I saw that it was on the burger, and I quickly asked for no pickles. They countered with, «We make our own.» And, in fact, they do make their own. And they are perfectly sour and sweet, with not overly salty characteristic. I do want to note the fries that are very much fried to order. I don’t think they did a good job getting the starch out or frying to a particular temperature because the fries were soggy and flimsy, but undesirable characteristics. And both of these negative attributes lead to oiliness, which was a very prominent detail abounding in these thin-cut tubers. Alas, Daisies is doing something different than most delis in Austin. They are centralizing around a couple of housemade things and offering up Maine Root. Yeah, this sounds pretty typical, but it is difficult to come by all of these aspects in a truly humble little eatery such as this.

Daisies just opened in the neighborhood I just left. Balls! This morning, I found myself back in my old stomping grounds of Allandale. I really miss it. So, I saw Daisies opened(like, finally) and stopped in. It was only breakfast time, but the lunch menu looked awesome. Vegan hot dog. Vegan burger. Yes, please. The guy at the counter was crazy helpful, answering all my annoying vegan questions. I ordered a breakfast taco with beans, potato, avocado, and jalapeño & onion. We continued to talk about vegan shit, and he told me about his lunch stuff, and I wished it was lunch. Breakfast came, and it was awesome. Everything was done just right, and for like three bucks, it was kick ass. The place was cute, nice and simple. The two guys working? Bad ass. Attention to pain in the ass vegans? Hells yes. Meat stuff? On the menu, but I don’t care. I’m thinking I’ll go for lunch on Saturday. Ooh. A UYE?! Damn straight.
